The built stuff in the plantations is pretty pants if you meanthe trail in south barrule (sp?) as it's very short. I was meaning more the cheeky paths that won't be on many maps.

Surely the best is all south of St johns? Either way I'd suggest tapping up a bit of local knowledge via the forum as a lot of the best riding is hidden away in the plantations.
They're a very friendly bunch who (ime) welcome anyone on club rides.

Its as expensive as you want it to be. I've throwntogether a summer seasons for just over £300 which since building has meant that the 5spot hasn't had a look in.

I'm about 5'10 and on a medium with 70mm stem, fits pretty much bob on but possibly slightly small. It seems like you're right on the cusp of sizes and could probably do with a test ride.

FWIW, my friend is almost idential height and inside leg and he also rides a medium (with 100mm stem).

Horses for courses but I'd defo get a test ride before I parted with my hard earned.

Theres been a few threads on here in the past about people sizing up to a large after finding the medium was too small for them.

On nights out I used to go big early to avoid the rush.

He's probably been on here in the past saying you don't need to bunnyhop to ride a bike.

The Resoles idea doesn't really work as that would be £50 on top of a new set of shoes – false economy really.
