I used to live in a thick walled Victorian house. Ran a electrickery plug conversion to the area that had a poor signal & then plugged that into a new wireless access point / router. Set up with same username & password. Eh Viola.

Pellon tyres. There great, fast, cheap & helpful.

I’ve been in before and while waiting they’ve done everything from a quick fix for an old lady to patching some old farmers Wellies.

A ball of cotton wool rubbish around the inside of the Tyre will sort out if there is anything you can’t see as it’ll catch. Its often this for me, with the smallest of thorns / wire embetted in the Tyre.

Otherwise you could be pinching it putting it on with a funny bit of a Tyre lever.

I used to do mine all the time. Don’t know what kit I got, always went into Blazing saddles and they helped me out.

As for how, let all the pressure out. Put on old clothes, clamp fork over a bucket (outside) unscrew base and remove.

    Clean with isopropano .

Replace all seals and foam. I then used a cheap jug to measure and pour the oil into the now part reassembled forks (they are upside down in clamp) then faff for 30 min getting bolts to align to screw the base back on.

It was easy, cheap and I learnt some bits.

I start looking at guidebook maps and os maps then ride that ride. Along the way I may see another bit, remember it, then when I’m home look it up on a map. Next time try it out.

Over time this has allowed me to build up a range of routes all over the dales and lakes that I like (and my mates do too!).

Didn’t believe that washing up liquid would work as well as it does. Try it

Ultimate bike solution is great. I think its good value too for what you get.

All D of E providers have access to kit to be loaned out. This is often decent kit and replaced often. Try out that first, for maybe the Bronze level. Then if you/your kid likes it then they can buy some better kit that will last them longer.

All I’d buy in the first instance is a sleeping bag liner and decent socks.

Aracer, I did mine by volunteering thought the council. They have lots of courses going on. Its nice to do.

Yeah, its round the frame. Not the rack. Its a deterrent.

Have a couple of these for short times bikes are on racks and un-accompanied. Its only a bolt cropper away from useless but its better than nothing.

While not bike kit, a school I was working with at Easter had their minibus broken into in the lakes.

Police said it was more common now that school buses were being targetted as the staff had good kit and it tended to be left prepacked in holdalls on the back seats of minibusses.

Turds. The who thing couldn’t be more annoying!

I think its broke into two.

Those that go out on their bikes when its really raining, and those that wont.

Don’t think anyone has mentioned it yet, a minor point for me is that its easier to clean!

I do a lot of work with school groups. Years ago this was never an issue. Then it started getting mentioned, up on the risk assessments and covered in briefings. Now most trips out we have at least one kid with them on them. Anecdotally about 1 in 30 kids in the lakes at the moment.

I’ve had a tick card and lasso for a few years now. Something cheap for the backpack first aid kits.

So, I got round to fitting this today. Paired it with the Wolftooth 42 tooth.

Have to say its brilliant, took 3 min to fit. No need to take anything apart, minimum (I.e. zero) faffing with the b screw.

Shifts really well in all conditions today, under strain, high torque.

    Would buy another.

I use a tiny ortlieb one on most short summer rides, or add to it with a terra Nova quasar bum bag! Yes, I know. A monkii cage then holds my tipple of choice.

No its not fashionable but its the grab bag principle. Zero effort to get out & do a short ride and those short rides add up over time.

Summer evenings. Gods gift to those who mountain bike. Only 45 min from door to door but its set me up for the week.

Dusty trails, nothing but the whur of components finely tuned together, the lushest of greens and the adrenaline of the decent.

    All is good.

I managed to order one from WolfTooth with no issues on postage costs, they didn’t even ask me for any?!? Nor has it showed up on my invoice. Lets see about customs later.

Will see how it works, ordered a bag of M4 25mm bolts too from ebay just in case, they were pennies and good to have around I reckon.

Its really fast. Really very comfortable riding position. Got it as its best suited to the type of riding I do.

I have found the standover quite high (less than an inch), but the ETT is bang on. So ride quality is worth the payoff for a bit of a lack of confidence while riding it.

I have an XL and I’m 6’2. Emailed Sherpa and they said that on a 50mm stem and 760 bars would be the best.

Yet to do a big day out so will see. Ill keep you posted.

You really can throw it into corners and the it really does make you feel confident, not like you are perched on it.

36 % covers everything. All food mortgage bills. That’s what goes into the bills shared account. Thebrest is mine to do with as I fancy. Don’t tend to do big holidays. But do enjoy my hobbies. And some of them can get quite Expensive.

I tend to find routes initially using a guide book. Plotting them on a map ( I use quo) then tweaking maybe a bit. Ill then ride it then go back to the map and tweak again. At this point ill have a route ill share with my mates.

Edlong. Yes I agree, I really don’t think Bradford needs a trail centre. But there are lots of great great routes with bd postcodes, I hope that building this infrastructure is where this person / group are going. Not trying to put bike park Bradford together.

Still, people enjoying my hobby and getting out however it happens can only be good, and big parts of Bradford would love to get the regeneration that a mountain bike esk project could bring of done well.

Where were you using it when you noticed? Local geology has a big impact. Like red tarn.

the degree markings wear off mine well before I’ve had a needle go Squiffy.

Like the monkii cages. Miles from cycle miles is a great chap. We’ve used them from cycling thru France to our now legendary lakes to calderdale bridleway only route. (In our minds!!)

Will take anything from a nalgene to a two l bottle of pop. Would buy longer Velcro tho fir this from backpacking light.
