    Thanks

Definitely turning right way 🙂 I’ve had stuck bits before, but nothing like this really is tough, may have to invest in a new leverage bar

Had a great time, wasn’t about the placing (though I improved on last year) and the stages I thought were brilliant, certainly opened my eyes to new bits and again I ride there regularly

I’ve just swapped the Raceface Turbine set up on my Intense with some Hope cranks, I’ve now fitted the boost hope chainring and you can see an obvious difference between the two with the clearance between chainring and chainstay being bigger, even with changing size, the chainline is also much straighter.

all this being said, with the standard ring fitted the bike was as useable and rideable..

Seems I got lucky then with 8.34, though if it’s as hot as it is now I’d have preferred an early start

Shooterman, I find it pot on to be fair, rode a large Carbine before the Recluse too. I was lucky enough to demo one at the MBR FOD demo day and was blown away, hence shelling out!

The tracer is a bang upmto date bike with spot on geometry and new suspension linkage design, demo one or take the plunge I’d be willing to bet that you’ll not be disappointed.

Yes, I am an Intense rider! Recent swapped out a Carbine for a Recluse

Cheers all, some good suggestions, i’m pretty sure it isn’t the pedals as ive recently changed from flats to SPDs, though I don’t recall the noise before….will pop them out and grease threads again

Going to try all the other bits too 🙂

Very good point, is more apparent when putting power down, hence thinking it was bottom bracket or suspension

I have a 2014 2.2 diesel and it’s ace, goes well, plenty of space. It’s the EX in terms or spec, so electric everything, sat nav, full leather, panoramic glass roof to name a few toys

Very economical, regularly get over 40mpg

Could do a lot worse in my opinion

Been using the recently released Starbucks ones, and they’re good. Four different varieties and reasonably priced at around £3.50ish for 10, best thing is you can walk into any shop and pick them up straight away, no waiting for the postie

Seems crazy to me, specially when the other week World cup versions with carbon steerer went for £60 (man was I p*ssed I missed them)

I just fitted 11speed Xtr, and running the shimano 11 speed chain with a raceface Narrowide, seems to be OK so far, I have raceface turbine cranks if it makes a difference.

Was quite lucky with setup to be honest, all went on easily and worked pretty much without any serious fettling. Just a couple of extra links in the chain making it a little longer than my 10 speed setup.

It’s hard work! Currently looking after a group of under 9s, and got into it for my son also.

Getting them to listen is the hardest part, so establish ground rules early.

I had one on my old Covert, really nicely made and if you like carbon….

It does say however on the instructions that no fixings are required, imagine my dismay on the first ride that it came off and I lost it! Fairplay however to Rockguardz who replaced it for no extra charge, I then used a few sticky pads to secure and had no further problems

As a few others have already said, raw talent and top guy, was such shame he was taken young when in his prime, was a definite world champ in the making!

For those interested, noted at weekend the BDS round at Antur Stiniog on the 29th September has a “Legends” race as a memorial to JMC, the likes of Steve Peat, Rob Warner, Will Longden to name a few racing – Will bring back memories for a few on here i’m sure

My little lad had a Frog 43 and he loved it, still managed to get a good price after a year of ownership too, luckily for me, as Frog actually do a trade up scheme when kids outgrow, I forgot and sold on….

Having just gone from a Alloy Transition Covert to an Intense Carbine I do have to say the weight gains are second to none, bike feels so much more nibble and I really do believe my riding has got better (strava times definately) I can second the flex thing also as my Carbine currently is a 135QR rear end which the Covert was also, but the Covert did feel stiffer – May just be the different suspension pivots?

I can swap out the dropouts on the Carbine however so 142 bolt thru will happen at some point.

As a full build and I have recently swapped to Carbon wheels also, ive saved over 3.5lbs in weight against the Covert, almost of which was on the frame alone

Theres just something about the way it looks and the way its so smooth too…..ahem!

Its getting the tyre onto the rim in the first place thats the difficult bit

I’m using Vee Tire “Fluid” and “Flow” tyres.

Excellent tyres, been really impressed with them for a newer brand, but as I said above I did have a battle to get them onto the rim of my new wheels.

I’m recently purchased the Superstar AM’s and thus far have been nothing but impressed. Delivered 2 days after order (late afternoon order) kept abreast of delivery and tracking provided, well packaged and really do look the business outof the box.

Riding wise they feel a lot stiffer than my old Crank Brothers setup, have a loud rear hub (if that’s your thing) with a good pickup, easy to set up tubeless with the right tape and vales they also sell at a good price.

My only gripe so far, was that and it could be my tyres, but they were an absolute sod to get on the rim, very tight fit and I ended up wrestling with them for a good few hours and pretty much utilised every expletive known to man!

I have a Nest, and am pretty impressed with it, it’s a smart looking piece of kit too, imo better looking than hive. Got mine for free with install just for switching to Npower.

Great to be able to turn hearing on when on way back from being out so house is warm, automatically works out when you’re homework not and adjust accordingly. Like I’ve already said, it’s a good piece of kit

Another thumbs up here for Howard at Pedal & Spoke, always excellent service, I travel for over an hour to go there not exactly local to me, and as others have said, H is a great rider and will always give you an honest answer

What were you’re issues? Mines alittle notchy at the moment and drops slightly, thinking service is needed but lbs thinks it may need new cartridge and to be sent off to Sram
