Nice to see racism alive and well.

I miss the old sod – but wouldnt go back now. All my family are there and I visit regularly but the overall sense of doom, negativity and denial of the downfall being of our own making are doing my head in.

If you do go and have a firm offer for a job in a rising industry then go for it. And your salary covers the cost of living. One point is – there is no council tax on your house – they just moved this over onto your car. That gives you an idea of what car taxes are like.

I must say – those tags mean that there are now total assholes on here who think they know it all. That is genuinely off putting to all and sundry.

Sorry – to the op – I have no experience of your frame etc, but that tag / “response” (anonymous) is out of order imo.

And I dont blame you for the cheap dig in return!

gonetothehills – sorry I cant really help you. I see that some mj-872s of ebay have diffuser type lenses. Mine doesnt despite the same model name. Perhaps the manufacturer changed the design since it was launched or something but that is just a total guess.

I noticed that the link I posted above is now sold out but he has a new listing with the same thing and more detailed photos / desc.

I’ve got some AM 490’s (? on the number) for a year and they have been less hassle than my hope hoops. Maybe I’ve been lucky. Good price tho!

Tip – when reading the menu in a nice restaurant do not hold said menu over the candle in the middle of the table as you ramble on about something. Most menu covers are plastic. And very flamible! And jugs of water being thrown at you can go one of either way. Fortunately it went the right way for us!

    I stand corrected 😳

If I had found those it would have saved me a fair chunk of ball ache!

what’s the difference between integrated and semi integrated?

    Chalk and cheese.

What frame have you got? What fork do you want to fit?

Sorry to piss on your parade but I would google freesat.

Much the same (loads more free stuff, but less “other” free stuff, neither of which you knew existed), but for an initial paymennt (approx £50) and no monthly payment (sky costs approx £180 pa for “free” stuff as far as I can tell).

But – but – BIG but – if you have a specific interest that sky covers then go for it.

can you get shims from 30.9 to 31.6mm ?

    No. Simple.

Ive come across this for a different dropper post (joplin). There are no viable 30.9-31.6 shims.

Coke cans etc are far far too thin and need several turns. This means that one or other of the turns will slip eventually and drive you crackers. Been there! Also once you cut a can the result is far too short to go below the top tube if you know what I mean. Beer cans may be longer (to get below top tube), but seem equally as thin.

I did get a plastic water bottle to work temporarily (sainsburys basic sparkiling 2.0L if you want to try – 16 pence!) that was exactly the right dimensions for one turn (but needed carbon gripper paste).

My uninteresting Jura factoid of the evening – when I worked on the previous version of their packaging / promos. We inadvertantely left the roof lights on for the photo and the reflections ended up in the final image and all boxes, promos etc. 2 years later that still bugged me. It’s been updated now (thankfully!)

Good point about the weight Johnny Panic. As regards price – once paypal (dubious exchange rates) or card company have taken a cut – theres not much in it.

Hopefully Cider Rich posts his point of view later and its not just me that’s all enthusiastic like.

BETD do a BB HT2 re-furb for £20 with (apparantly) extra special bearings.

Anyone got any experience of that?

Yep – replaced a 2 year old xt one with betd enduro ones. Fitted free and super fast turn around. Lasted 6 weeks before I could feel gritty grinding through the pedals. Back to XT after that.

This gets asked quiet often. I think the consensus is they arent all the same. I know from looking at them that the outer black seals are a different shape between deore, xt (slx are the same) and xtr. Others mentioned that one of them uses a different size or width bearing (deore I think) – when they were trying to replace the bearings with cartridge bearings. While I get on fine with the xt/slx ones that is a cracking price to get some xtr on your bike!

    Hope that helps.

Heres are some more photos are requested. See link below for more and bigger photos.

The optic appears clear in front of the leds and frosted between them. Just to confirm – I got the one from ebay uk in the tinyurl link above. I dont know if the DX one is exactly the same – I had assumed it would be. Note the small velcro strap near the connector to help tidy up the leads- a nice touch.

I’ll try and get one later – but probably tomorrow.

In the meantime heres a video review from the US that shows size, usage etc. The one I got came with a uk plug – otherwise its the same I think.

We got the oem bars (which for some reason were cheaper than the Thule equivalents when we got the car).

Unless you have a good reason to carry one & then is it up to the courts to decide?

That’s my understanding too. Camping, hunting, gathering mushrooms etc are all good reasons. I’d never bring one to the pub etc.

Yes screw fit under flaps. Missus is away in it atm but I’ll measure later if noone else has – how accurate do you need? I know front and back are different.

BTW – is it a 3/5 door / coupe – or are they the same body length?

Just to add about the legal thing – to buy an opinel (or other locking knife) over the counter in Scotland you now need to show either a passport or photo drivers licence. So I found out when getting my replacement No 8. However you can buy it from Amazon no questions asked.

Which reminds me of their other great advantage – they are cheap (usually around a tenner) so when you loose / break one it isnt the end of the world.

The ebay battery is “better” as it better sealed, has a display that says how many volts are left and is in a custom plastic case with a rubberised base and a curve to suit bike tubes instead of a nylon pouch. It’s probably the same batteries inside in though.

And yes the comparison between the first magicshine bastid (this one: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/ha-iii-ssc-p7-c-sxo-3-mode-900-lumen-led-bike-light-set-25149
) and the new xpg one. It is bright – but more importantly – a real wide beam. I dont think my photos really show just how different the spread is.

Paddy – if you’re still having a problem check the inner face of the QR adapter.

My Pro iii had the same symptoms as yours. Turns out the inner bearing race (in the freehub) had “eaten”/ worn into the alu of qr adapter. This means the adapter was made to squueze onto the rubber bearing seal – thus the drag and the symptoms. Off the bike it was perfect.

The replacement part from hope is a significantly different shape to the original and cured my problem.

However I’d still say the points above are most likely problem.

I just got a 2.1 NN with snakeskin from merlin and it’s much much narrower than my other 2.1 schwalbes.

Merlin are doing an extra 15% off at the mo- so with a 10% vip that means a 2.25 NN evo for £29 delivered.

Honestly – I’m a hugh fan of these. I got a pair for a nephew a xmas pressie a few years back and was so impressed we got some for me and missus’s holidays with the ipod / laptop etc.

Realistically though – your car speakers must be truly bloody awful if these are in the ball park. They will be loud enough – but the louder they go the less bass they have – I dont know if that makes sense. They are really loud though and survive a really long time without charges. In a car you will be turning them down before they reach their limit.

Overall summary – a massive improvement on laptop or iphone speakers (and esp great for laptop dvds) but imo not for a car.

    couldashouldawoulda – I don’t understand this bit:
As PayPal is involved you probably have to play the “firm but fair” game

What I mean is that PayPal nearly always take the buyers side. Even if you think the money is in your account and the buyer complains they will – as a default position – take the money back from your bank (or paypal account if that fails).

By firm but fair I mean – you tell the buyer that is a fair price (which I’d agree with based on the ad above). If they still arent happy say – send them back to me (at your cost) and I’ll refund you. I can sell them for more to someone else.

Sadly I cant make this one. Working.

But I did have a pleasant “proud feeling” after passing our previous Green Cleugh repairs a few months back.

As PayPal is involved you probably have to play the “firm but fair” game. Personally I think £75 for parts / a rebuild is a fair price. Fully working for that cash is impossible. Worst case – take them back – relist them.

So I’ve just logged out and the tyres I ordered (schwalbe nobbly nics) are listed at 34.95. I login they are 31.46. I add todays code they are 26.74.

    I’m on chrome / windows.

Not for me at about 3pm anyways. Got some schwalbes with discount + vip 10% + the extra 15% off today voucher thingy. Checked priced before login and it was defo higher.

Maybe it’s cookie related or something? Are you in privacy mode / a different computer…..

£18 for a pair + £3 delivery. Still not cheap.

The problem is the the 17x28x7 doesnt appear to be a standard size. The other ones you can get cheaper.

Dont know about the stans Q.
