    LOL.

I’m just asking as it can be a pita getting over the river anytime around rush hour by road.

Check out Bewleys Ballsbridge (thats reasonable £ and not too far of a walk to the DART in/out of town).

There’s lots of proper posh options nearby that often have deals on.

Budget? And what side are your family (N / S)?

Ballsbridge area is nice: close to town with some pubs and great transport.

True- but I was thinking something high voltage inside the lock. The pickers are 100% metal.

Naked. That should get you to put the controller down.

cyclefix… you need a thick skin on here. Dont take it personally.

BigG’s points are now more articulate than mine even though he started out a bit blunt maybe.

So just to restore balance: your website is gash ;)

Honestly, keep chipping away and ask for feedback.

#Edit: we all started off gash. Some of us still are.

Another happy Edinburgh customer here. Had the misfortune to buy a Commencal from them, and every time it cracked they replaced and rebuilt it as quick as they could.

I think their Co-Op model means a slightly more interested work force generally. But every branch will be different I guess.

In the nicest way possible, that’s pretty average. One second on the home page and I’ve clicked back.

Also, there’s a big RED negative on the home page.

First thing is it should be totally clear what areas you cover. What you do. Who you are.

To me, and it’s personal obviously, but this is much better, and seems friendlier to your potential audience.

    http://www.bicyclebuddy.co.uk/

You dont need the roting images or that. Just a female / family friendly image, a map of where you cover and maybe a photo of you. Then the other pages with the detail.

Guys: I posted a reply yesterday to this that I thought was funny.

Obviously it wasnt and I apologise.

**** it. In the last few years I could have been persuaded by GB, Sky, the slower Spanish guys etc.

But the last few days of the 2013 Vuelta?

Next thing Phat Mcquaid will be re elected to his $40,0000,0000 a year consultancy (the UCI paperstamp) and there will be one person somewhere who still thinks that cycling has cleaned up.

99.9% of the posts on STW aren’t needed.

    True. If a bit optomistic.

If you rolled up at the garage with the new calipers on the back seat and said: “fit them for me” – then its your loss.

If you rolled up and said “somethings wrong: fix it for me” – then it’s their responsibility that they havent done it right for what ever reason.

I dont know (about the scam part!).

I’ve ordered from http://www.probikeshop.fr before and it all went fine.

Here’s the same item from the .fr site:

Mark: do you have a crime / incident number to quote the police? If not dont worry.

#Edit: And Mark, can you add contact details to your profile, or this post. It was a bit of a quest getting in touch with you.

Ahh Ok, and you redid your test in the UK?

BTW: I did mine here originally: Knock airport (while it was being built). Redid it in London.

    Dont be shy about it!

So – ring a broker, you’ve been driving for 30 years. You’ve got a UK licence for a few years. No claims … It’s worth a shot.

Where was the first test done – if you dont mind me asking? Commonwealth?

#Edit – we cross posted a bit there I think.

So how were you allowed drive abroad? Where did you pass your test?

    #Edits:

    Ie for those years?

Also, roughly how old are you? Where abouts you living?

    Good call with Direct L1ne

OMG I actually helped somone. Oh have you called them though? On the phone? Its often cheaper on the phone.

As for brokers: you really need something distinctive in your history / or profession.

Are you a fireman….? Doctor….? Anything thats got a professional association?

Or years on a motorbike? Have you driven a van for years? Something. Driven abroad?

    couldashouldawoulda

That’s cheaper than used ones can go for on ebay!

Edit: prob no bleed kit or bits, but hey!

Mate I dont know how old you are or how you got that NCB but often if you’re older (and sticking to the NCB rules) its well worth your while talking to a broker or one of the direct line companines over the phone.

They often give intoductory discounts (eg driving the wifes car before now, or company cars, or one claim after 5 years claim free etc).

If you’ve just started out then I dont know.

And, phone wise, yes: I have a PAYG top-up tesco mobile specifically for this kind of thing. And lastly if you’ve told them you’ve ever had a claim, expect to get a call from every solicitor in the country!

As nobody at all is sticking up for a 19:

I have one:(well had- just the frame now waiting for a reason to rebuild it) an ’09 I think.

It’s a great allrounder. Seriously light, stiff and reliable.

But not built for the same purpose at all as a slackline (I have a Carbon 456 that might be in that ball park).

If it was me maybe think / what you’re really going to use it for. Then decide.

I know its a bit over budget: but Tesco Direct are / were selling refurbished Nexus 7’s 16gb for ~ £119. One year warranty.

They seem to crop up regularily in their ebay store. They’re currently only listing 32gb for £135.

Having had cheap “branded” Android before I’d never do that again.

Is there any brand of outer that works better?

I’ve got Shimano sp41 outer with the oilers.

    couldashouldawoulda
    Free Member

I like them, but find that before you spray into them you have to move the ferrules at either end of that bit of outer or else the lube doesnt all go in.

Otherwise they seem to work and the cables last for me.

Because they have cameras near the tip to catch the vans doing that. So you have to go somewhere more rural.

    couldashouldawoulda
    Free Member

in preference to taking it to the tip. Why not flytip it at the tip!

If your council is anything ours: vans arent welcome at all sites. Also vans have to pay at those that will accept them. This is the source of the problem really (along with being a prick).

    Personally I call BULLSH~IT!

If I’ve been riding a cheap bike to the shoppes : I never crash. If I’m riding some exotic 26.6333 / 29.222 niche stuff: I always crash on my face. And the brighter the light the bigger the smash.

Another Paragon user here. The Matte stuff is really thin, but it seems to work ok. It’ll never be as good as the otherwise usual 3m stuff but it looks good on matte frames.

I think JoeG is referring to how regular a poster the OP is.

As with a lot of things in life: if it appears too good to be true, then yeah: **** it: it’s probably totally fine.

    Hopefully I’m wrong.

    Police processes (bureaucracy possibly).

I spend half an hour detailing a crime on the phone, waiting while it was all typed in. Then two uniforms come round and ask the exact same questions again and spend an hour writing it all up in handwriting (although on a tablet).

At least they were all genuine and nice guys & gals.
