Just google the ip. Ignore the top 5 of all listings (if its proper dodgy then that would be fixed / scammed). Eyeball the rest.

If in doubt – use google chrome – and cntl – shift – N = private mode -nothing is allowed install / download on your machine (“is” should really be “shouldnt”).

Malware alerts are over vealous at times.

Google says that ip is to do with us military stuff. Is that related to your search?

I dont know you but putting that on here or anything similar was pretty crazy imo. I read it and skook my head – I didnt respond. Sorry for appearing judgemental.

Should be, but I’m knackered after a 5 hour off piste ride and my missus is still working which is starting to annoy me just a little bit 🙄

#Edit – it’s funny when I’m on a work PC tho – apparently I’m a single female with poor eyesight whos got a bad credit rating and wants to join the love (what’s that about?)

There are some noticable absentee’s from the above recommendations I think.

My local is the Bike chain, and for odd hours Bicycleworks. Both have been very good to me.

    We’re spoilt for choice really.

I used these K18’s for a couple of years and loved them initially.

I’d say from your description and what I have encountered that one piston is “lazy” – is moving less than the other – possibly semi seized. This seems to push the disk away from the effective piston etc.

Anyway I got rid of them after a different problem, but that sticky piston thing can happen to any brake.

Yes – I guess anything should be fine. Just read the instructions.

Lidl do a re-proofer spray once a year for about £1.50 that I’ve used for ages with not a single issue. As I understand it it’s only job is to stop the water “sheeting” up on the outside (ie the water no longer beads) – thus helping it keep breathing.

Gosh – I will / do / would buy almost anything online. A suit and a woman would be the main exceptions.

For daily wear I like M&S autograph, or we’ve got Slater’s in Scotland (one of the biggest suit shops in the world or something) that have the odd bargain. Or Jaeger have some good suits in the sales. But never online.

My favourite suit ever was tailor made – in Vietnam – but that involved a few fittings. I wish I’d got extra trousers at the time but the £8 extra seemed an extragance.

LOL – apart from its deadly serious.

One site I worked in had this problem – due to ethnic cultures etc.

Also they we had signs for not urinating in the sinks. To walk in and disturb that process “in flow” was always way more jaw dropping.

Different worlds and all that. It got cleaned up eventually.

Just remember that there are fake Bosch blades on ebay.

The tesco blue boxed ones are utter pish ime – mine rusted to hell and had epilepsy cleaning the screen after a few months.

Champion or halfords are pretty good and cheapish. Or of course Bosch.

The advantage of flat blades I think is that ice doesnt freeze up the pivot thingys that are on normal ones.

Rick – dont get me wrong : I am happy with them (got them after you recommended them on another thread – thanks).

Just mentioning the tinge in case anyone else is fussy about such things.

Welcome to the forum nick4u1. That’s an interesting first post.

We retro fitted those SMD LEDs Rickmeister recommends to our GU10s. They are nearly as bright as the 50w halogens they replaced. Even though they are meant to be “warm white” they do have a slight magenta tinge to them and might be a bit clinical – kind of suits our kitchen though.

Still they use 90% less power and were £3.50 each so Im not going to complain.

3 speed mech here with 22/36 and no problems. I positioned the mech vertically as if the big ring was still there. Also try setting the L screw to get the correct low / resting position before you attach the cable.

This works in openoffice. Excel should be the same but change semicolons to commas. 999 is the result if the tests are false.

I’ve got 426’s that I’ve used in -20 with no problems, I suspect something fundamental ish wrong with yours?

Us brits like cheap disposable errr: cr ap. Blame Tesco, Asdo, Apollo, etc etc. Its great to see bike loving nations spending on what they need. I didnt see Switzerland in there though – every single bike I saw there cost at least as much as my car.

nick – that is funny – frustrating maybe – but funny. At least OnOne try and reflect stock levels online. Some retailers do not. I think that’s what the general whine here has become.

If Ruthlands /Uk Bike Store et al had a great big honest “We NEVER keep any stock” on their website it would do less harm to the rest of the online bike industry.

Yep GT is shut for the foreseeable. There is a big sign saying – “no fun here: Whinlatter this way ->”

Seriously – there are some big diversions (I think the black ones are ace – but the red is a ball ache). But still lots and lots to do. And all due to finish this Friday.

If they say it’s in stock it should bloody well be IN STOCK. Otherwise its fraud and I dont use them again. And I’m a reasonable guy btw! Of course there will be the odd error / shoplifting discrepancy etc, but some online shops are just plain dishonest.

I appreciate some stuff is special order etc – and happy to order on that basis and wait. But in 2012 – “in stock” means “I can despatch as soon as I can get someone to get their asses down to aisle 3b and stuff it in an evelope”.

I’d agree that UKbikestore and JEJames are crap. I’d go so far as to say they dont carry one single item in stock (IME) – everthing has to get shipped to them first and then wait around in some lockup before they find it and send it out snail mail.

Inspired by the recent trend towards rifle-mounted chainsaws, we at Guns + Gardens wanted to give the idea a try — our way.
First, we decided to keep the budget low

Jeez, I hope that’s a wind up? But it’s the USA. Maybe not?

I like Picasa – drag and drop on the PC for uploads. Send a photo from an iPhone. Share and restrict on photos and albums as easy as pie.

Edit and crop the photos you upload. It’s free. No ads. I can’t think of a reason to change. Someone will set me straight in a minute.

Tails – IME- avoid own brands / unknown brands. EG Kwik Fit’s Ceat. They will last forever – probably longer than you. Also anything Chinese branded (usually with an English name like TopRank) is crap.

Mid range brands OK and are good for the cash – Uniroyal, Fulda, Toyo, …

Online places are good if you’re picky about what you want and will spend some time checking reviews. Otherwise I’d go for a local indy and stick to something you’ve heard of.

    TomTom for me.

For cheap – TomTom have an outlet store based in Holland. Around 2/3rds the Halfords price.

For quick – Halfords – on one of their specials. Walk in – pick it up – pay – job done.

Does anyone have a transit connect as a bike van?

Yep? I got a Connect HiRoof – not strictly a “bike van” as I bought it for work. But still. I think its great. Any questions let me know.

Also – to the OP – before this I bought older Japanese hatchbacks – Primera, Avensis,… that are far from fashionable, dirt cheap (I’d spend around £1k-£2k on them with 50-60K one owner) and boringly reliable (in petrol variants) and easily fit 2 or 3 bikes in. That would be my main choice if I had to carry family etc occasionally.

Parkers sell Shimano SP41 (sp? basically XT) for £20 ish for 10 meters. Hard to beat. You will use it all eventually.

#Edit: its gone up to £23.95 since I got mine. Still a bargain.

They also do XTR versions in 7.6m rolls.

Actually I never found this with cheap tyres, they normally last FOREVER and grip like they’re made of plastic too.

I think mine are 4 years old. No need for them so far this year – but they’re still looking nearly new.

Only get a few weeks use each year – but I think theyve been used for 3 puffers so far (not by me I hasten to add). Still lots of life in them.
