Canon L lenses (the ones that dont physically zoom). Sorry.

A decent bag would be a few K cheaper.

STR – you’re coming across like you want a row.

I havent seen the film – so I cant help with that. If in doubt – go with what feels right and all that.

BoardinBob gets my fab link of the day award!

Superb that. I’m off to register over there! Seems like less arguing too 😉

Oh – to answer the OP – rarely – but when I do its a hard to beat feeling.

sadex – I’ve got a bit lost in the detail there: Their email includes a “Spend and Save” discount for a fitted price of £154.98 although the website lists it as £149 + 25 fitting.

variflex – excuse me for asking the bleeding obvious – are you sure you’ve got rear 185 rear adapters and not 185 fronts?

I’m sure you’ll tell me to bugger off and teach someone else to suck eggs but just in case.

Jeeze Bregate – thats rough. Not your fault at all though – not even remotely. Not even on the same planet really.

My brother took his own life – despite being in bother – up to the last day he never blamed anyone else except himself.

I’ve just had an email from Halfords about this! Weird. Is that cause of me not pausing my gmail / browsing thing?

Anyway: DAB retro-integrated to a Ford £149 fitted:

I surprised this is still going – and more surprised that my idea might still be in the running! Along with MrGreedy – if you want to send a sample: I’ll see what I can do.

I had something similar and the gist of if was ended up with 2 crc accounts – one for my proper email addr and one for my paypal addr. I didnt know I had the 2nd one – or the password.

If you placed an order years back via paypal this should have set up an account with that addr. If you subsequently changed your paypal’s associated addr crc wouldnt know that.

Basically try logging onto CRC with the paypal email addresses (new and old) – you wont know the passwords – but follow the “forgot my password” process.

    Hope that makes sense.

not good at formula as I hardly used them until today …

Oh – I wonder if this is the right time to learn? Hopefully someone will be along with a more approachable / doable solution…

Thanks Andrew – I’m going Friday. I was on the black 2 weeks back and loved it (maybe more than normal – is that possible?), I wondered if it had changed – sounds from responses and emails that its all still good!

Well you’ve not thought this through have you!

OK – If it was me (and I’m a mediocre dabbler) in the individual sheets I’d pick an unused col and assign numbers to each answer in that sheet (using IF if required-Yes=1, Yesterday=0 …..).

Then in the “summary” sheet you do an IF for sheet1:Z1=1 AND sheet2:Z1=1… or much much better and if you’re clever : do a multiply: 0x9x3 = 0, 1x1x1 = 1 etc and have that inside a formula for Nice/Shite etc..

I assume you is taking the proverbial?

Some days recently it’s been like the lumberjack and megatruck olympics. The guys are doing a job – I just want a quiet few hours out or I’ll go next door to Inners.

    Crazy username eh?!

I hadn’t realised my elbows were important either so I’ve a lot to learn.

Me too! But that’s what I paid for.

Google “attack position mtb”. That’ll give you the idea. Damn hard to keep it up on descents until its second nature btw (and your thighs get used to not sitting down).

Thanks drslow: I’ve decided I’m going to do the black and follow the official line. I guess the trucks and “lumberjacks” will be working tomorrow on the red and as the black diversions a few weeks back were really good (unless someone tells me otherwise) that’s plan A!

Gordy – I did a couple of days with Andy years back- he’s a real nice guy and no matter what happens his voice will pop into your head in years to come (esp for me when tired ): LOOK UP – ELBOWS etc etc.

Honestly – make your decision on what he says when you talk to him.

Is this for a “group” type session?

I got a voucher for a group session – ended up on Intermediate – and there was a mix of confidence and ability. Andy did well at boosting both in all of us. I’d say for your first session – a group is great – it dissapetes nerves – gets collective giggles etc. Even on the Intermediate it comes down to basics – weight – look – relax all that.

Any more questions then let us know.

    #Edit –

being in a completely wrong group can cause difficulties for the whole group, including you-

Thats true – very true – but let Andy be the judge. Personally – I think you’ll be fine.

Well that sounds like fun! But on a nice day. How long does the 50k normally take? And will they cancel it if the weather is as bad as predicted? Standing in 150kmh winds is tough – but on a bike as a cross wind 😯

Has anyone been in the last few days?

What’s the impact of these (from the website)- I cant remember if these are the same as it was a few weeks back?:

“The Red Route is closed from posts 16 – 44 (Spookywood Climb/Descent & Super G) until Fri 9th March due to tree felling operations.
The Black Route is closed from post 82 – 86 (Deliverance) and post 83-20 (escape route on forest road) due to tree felling operations until end June 2012. Escape Route option down forest road from post 73 (start of Boundary Trail) also closed until Fri 9th March”

    Thanks?

Assuming quality isnt too high on the agenda you will be “ok”.

Printing individual photos on A4 will look “ok” from a couple of feet or closer after a few beers. The wont look like real photos – more like photos in a newspaper.

Under the same circumstances refills / cheapo’s would be ok too.

Dunno if that’s what you wanted to hear.

I’ll try taking the spring out, cleaning with iso, greasing and putting back.

I only mentioned taking the spring out as a simple test. TJs suggestion about taking the lowers off and seeing how much oil pours is probably better (needs no special tools apart from rubber mallet) and gives to the chance to do a lowers clean and service too.

They sure are – fixed a knackered Niterider for me and were very nice about it too.

Not until I saw the truly awful videos they’re posting on Bike Radar this week in “29er Week”

I was pretty neutral until I saw those – now I know it’s hype.

It could be the o-rings in the damping leg. A common enough problem and solved by replacing a couple of o-rings

My money would be on that.

Do they have any sort of lockout?

As a diagnosis – it’s easy enough to take the spring out with just a big socket on the top of the left leg. Then see if you still cant get full travel. If not its probably a damper problem.

Only special tools to fix really are half decent circlip pliers, and the 2 oils.

He seems to get faster toward the end – but that might just be the trees getting closer?

Andrey – dunno – but pinbike attracts a lot more teenagers / juveniles – which is all fine. I had thought that on here was a lot more gentlemanly – but with a recent “jimmygate” incident – you have to be careful no matter what.

No matter where you buy – buyer beware and all that.

Well – you and I and anyone who owns one will be flamed.

I got a Sealey 1/4 drive 2-20NM (ish – sorry I cant find the exact link from my mobile) from amazon as a pressie. Its so good when I needed a pressie for someone as a major thanks – I got him the same thing. Really good – but not as good as finger feel or breaking things or your lbs. Apparently. Doesnt work on reverse threads mind.

5nm is far too high. You want something that the middle range is what you normally work at.

The other Q: for heavy duty (car wheels etc) – lidl / aldi do regular good stuff or halfords

    Does that count as stalking?

If someone sells me ropey tat and doesnt refund – then no. Fair play to you in my book. Facebook is on open forum – you put yourself out there and say – hey – I’m nice and popular – give me some hugs.

There isnt a separate wall for dishonest selling.

Still – what does it take to bury the brake fluid covered hatchet – if there was a refund?

You may be right – try searching for Thomas the Tank Engine – You’ll be horrified by how many people enjoy abusing / exploding / torching toy trains – much to the anguish of 5 year old boys!

But not with a hope brake – that doesnt slow anything down effectively – but spares are available. Or a shimano brake – that works – but then when it leaks you have to bin it. Or an avid – that’s so hated no one buys them. Or a Hayes – well I wont say more.

Personally – I dont think any brakes will stop this. Except the obvious man-up outcome.

#Edit – actually – hatchet burying and manning up possibly.

Put the correct fluid in, put them in the classified with photos of someone elses brakes and describe them as in perfect condition. Then we have all have a laugh when the row breaks out 😉
