I’ll be wearing a ‘Guillain-Barré Syndrome Support Group’ shirt – their logo is – rather appropriatly – a green tortoise

I’m on my first attempt at this event and will also be on a brown Roadrat. I may regret doing this singlespeed but I’m using it as an opportunity to raise funds for charity, so the pain’ll be worth it. See you all on the road or in a cafe somewhere.

Its a lid over the chimney. It doesnt really have a useful function but I thought it would look good. I did have plans to fit a damper in the chimney but experiments showed it wasn’t a good idea. The whole thing gets extremely hot with lots of ineffiecient and wasted radiant heat off the firebox but with a big fire the flames come out of the chimey and it looks really great in the dark.

There is a surprising amount of singletrack in Bacton Woods considering its size but much of it is hard to spot though. Get in touch if you are in the area.

Thanks for your support for the whole concept of tea trays and the important part they play in everyday life.
As an engineer I am aware of the importance of the client’s requirements in producing a design. Obviously ‘product selectors’ are not.

…..and now Crossrail are getting truck drivers onto two wheels to do cycle awareness training. That can only be a good thing but it really needs to be applied to drivers of all trucks and buses and in my experience to quite a few car drivers too.

I use an old rake head with a short handle fastened with a bolt and wing nut. It does mean you have to lean a bit to use it but the head fits in my pack and the handle can be bungeed to the frame.

I’ll avoid the dried fish flakes next time I go – they seemed like an interesting alternative to crisps – but they were not.
Apart from that Iceland is a really great place, although the guys I saw having to pedal down a 1:10 hill because of the strong headwind may not have agreed with me.

Sheet B could use vlookup and an if statemment to give 1 or 0 in a new column and then conditional format the town cells based on that

you could ride the D2D course itself, that way you will avoid any head on collisions and enjoy a good circuit before it gets cut up by 1000s of wheels

What you need is Paste special / Microsoft Excel Worksheet object, this pastes it in as a resizable ‘image’ and retains the formatting of the original.

I was there a few weeks ago and did a route down into Lee by road then along the coast path with great views (its bridleway here) to Torrs Park/ Ilfracombe and back up to Willingcott on the railway path. Not a classic off road route I know but OK as a short ride if you dont want to drive over to Exmoor.

Actually the North Norfolk Ridge is just as steep as Simonfbarnes photo, just not as high – but its easier to get to the summit. Beeston Bump is OK but Muckelburgh hill is a harder climb

A great event – you'll enjoy it, even though this year its gone soft with proper toilets and a cafe.

I'll be there with a bucketful of banana flapjack if you're passing.

I think the traditional idea is that they warm the cold air next to the colder glass. If they were elsewhere then you’d have warmer and colder sides to a room. Convection of the warmed up air distributes the heat around the room to keep you cosy
