Definitely peanut butter and marmite, but preferably not the jars of this, as those are not marmitey enough for me.
A rather more ‘work of the devil’ is my pickled herring porridge combo……better than you might expect !

Maybe less email traffic, but one of our major clients is going to be issuing a very large tender on Christmas Eve……hoping the return date doesn’t turn out to be 2nd Jan

I make lots of the lovely stuff. Too easy to eat though, so most of mine is for sale. Reading recipes was bewildering, but after a day course it all became clear !

Just made four to prove tonight, the kitchen will smell lovely in the morning

Or you could lay your slabs up to it and fill in over this drain using 40mm cobbles. Look good and water runs through them. If you need to get to the drain for any reason they are easily removed

Assuming you’re on the site above the beach then a good pre breakfast ride would be over Woolacombe Down from Vention, (may be some pushing needed) with great views over the bay and then down into Woolacombe and back along the old road/ bridleway or dunes. I will be there too similar time but staying in Croyde

The Pigs at Edgefield and Byfords in Holt and Back to the Garden farm shop at Letheringsett are good eateries

Good walks along clifftop, Kelling Heath, Holt Country Park. Cley for nature reserve. North Norfolk Railway

No one has mentioned Holt. Lots of independent and expensive shops and Byford’s a quirky but good restaurant and deli. Overstrand just a short cliff top walk from Cromer is a small but unspoilt village and a good cafe, White Horse pub and Sea Marge restaurant. In Cromer Number 1 fish and chips has won awards and is just above Cromer Eye ! Have a great weekend

You’ve not mentioned any two wheeled activity as part of your long weekend but the ‘high’ ground of the Cromer ridge provides some of the best riding Norrfolk has to offer……Pretty Corner, Roman Camp, Sheringham Park and Holt Lowes all have lots of routes in them

I think that Na Mura restaurant has closed down too. We ate there on its last night in May last year. Malveig Inn was great too and can second the recommendation for Mountain Coffee Company

Left late Tuesday night heading east, arrived during Thursday, stayed Friday and Saturday leaving late Saturday heading west arriving home early Tuesday. That might not work in reality as I haven’t done any calcs on distances or durations

I can confirm the windiness of Iceland. We drove around it a few years ago and saw some US tourers having to pedal down a 1:10 hill into the wind. Despite that I’d love to explore it on two wheels – a really great place.

Third time for me on SS Roadrat. Like other posters I’d recommend the DD. Its a long ride but sociable ride and not too challenging, apart from the small hills v tired legs near the end

High performance steam power in 1903 – 0 to 30mph in 30 seconds, Great Eastern Railway’s ‘Decapod’ built to prove steam could be as fast as electrics but sadly remained an experimental oddity

I add treacle to my wholemeal loaf recipe. Provides extra sugar and flavour but doesn’t make it taste too sweet

I think the 5% rule applies to windows that open wider than 30 degrees. If the window has a stay that restricts it opening any more than 30 degrees, then the opening pane has to be 10% of floor area. See Building Regs Part F

When I was a kid I creosoted our fences in a moment of summer holiday enthusiasm. It was a hot day and I kept wiping the sweat from my brow and face with my gloved hands not realising that creosote and skin don’t mix so well. I told my mates at school I fallen into a fire and burnt my face.

I stupidly rode to work that morning when it was still pretty blowy. I was mainly sheltered by buildings but everytime I went past a gap the gusts nearly blew me across the road. However I did enjoy the obstacle course that the wind had created, trees, bins, bus shelters etc

    * why cotic ?? – UK design for UK conditions

    * why that model – enjoyed my Soul but lusted after the prettiness of Ti and of course the loss of a few lb but also the loss of a quite a few £

    * set up – Pace forks from the Soul, Hope, Middleburn, XT

    * opinions !! – great !
