Grease the post. Move it every ride or so to make sure it isn’t binding

Plus gas but soak it every day for a week or so before trying.

Then move onto plumbers freeze spray. A can of that through the bottle cage holes up in the seattube and spray upwards, will contract the aluminium post and steel frame and different rates and with some force you should twist the post out without damage to anything.

Have emailed Red Bull. Doubt it will do anything but worth a try. Next time I will get someone to start it for me.

Really enjoyed the woman’s race as well. Hopefully at least a 2 way battle this year.

Yes absolutely fuming with that. No way to avoid it on the replay. Seriously hacked off.

My money I’d get the mattocs or x fusion. Ridiculous deals. Both great forks.

What size is that? Looks ace

The mattocs seem pricey to me but only because they were down to 220/230 not too long ago. Meant to be ace.

Also answering question above I think x fusion make some brilliant forks and the sweeps I have are fit and forget so I love them. Just do a dependable job.

I dont know budget of original poster but I’d also consider cheap fox 34s for 300 quid.

    Yeah good point.

I would buy recons any day of the week and service wise I have sent them off once in 5 years or regular use and they’re fine. Older fox needed a lot of servicing I think?

Have had a gold recon for 5 years. Not subtle but does a good job. It is reliable and fine. I have fox 34s on another bike which are noticeably stuffer and leagues apart on plushness. But I still think recons so a good enough job for most.

That said mattocs were down to £220 for ages at crc and x fusion at £200 at planet x so I would suggest that you stretch to that if you can. Both make great forks.

The STW youtube channel said Hart has been beaten by Walker in most of pre-season races?

Cannot wait for this. So many interesting things to look at. French domination to continue? Gee and Rachel on the Atherton bikes, Shaw getting some luck, Greenland pushing on, Seagrave really pushing for wins, new bike again for Gwin.

Should be brilliant. Hope whatever the conditions, it’s the same for all. Slightly spoilt (for me) the start of last season when the first few races were so different top to bottom as riders went out.

I’m going to 180 on the above comments and fit them this weekend. Will report back (peachos if I don’t get on with them I’ll post them to you if you want them?)

Pass. I ordered the 2.3-2.5 and they are massive. I can see why there are comments as above lack of air space, looks like they will fill the tyre completely!

I think mine will be used for swimming, the valves look good though. But from comments above and seeing them as they’ve arrived, I am very dubious about using them.

Walker pace varies greatly depending on how they need to move the story along. See also Daenerys using fast ferries to get the army across the sea.

    This. 100 x this.

Also apparent since the source material was left behind how speed of travel has accelerated as they wrap things up.

Sort of agree but looks right on this and the scout. It’s quite a shiny finish.

I have bad taste as well.

The nukeproofs all look sorted these days. It’s a great understated finish in grey.

Terrene tyres for 13.99 after discount is ridiculous value. Going to get a pair see what they are like

Given the forks look fine, and that you saved some money getting a bike cheaper as it was pick up only (which is great for you as you knew an agent to collect) then you should be about where you are at money wise on what it’s worth?

What’s the bike and what did you pay for it out of interest?

    They are heavy

I run mine tubeless ok and it went up fine but I find it weeps quite a lot.

I use a smorg as front tyre in 29er form and whilst it is a round profile, I dont really notice a massive lack of grip unless compared to something like a magic mary

    It is light

    It is expensive to repair

No idea on weight comparative to others but I do like the wtb i29 rims

I know wheel size difference isn’t new, but it’s still fairly uncommon on stock bikes. More so with more travel rear then front.

Didn’t see that about Maes bike. Interesting.

Glad you got out on it, 4 months is quite a wait for a first ride.

I wouldn’t make too many changes given you admit you are out of shape, and given you need to ride a bike a fair few times I think (personally) to see what else you might want to change.

No idea of your weight but that would be the best and easiest weight saving. Get out on the bike more regularly and you’ll notice that 100 times more than changing tyres etc.

Where can I watch highlights? Think the lack of coverage (I.e. red bull tv) makes it hard to talk about.

Plumbers freeze spray if you can through seattube cage holes, boiling water on outside of frame.

29er if you link up bridleways on road. Plus is good but not all run 29er

The vitus hardtail are smart and great spec for the money.

Too much bike for me but sizing looks decent.

As for people being overbiked, who actually cares as long as people are out there using them having fun.

There’s some nice nearly new Fox 34s on the classified for £195. I’d take them as a massive upgrade any day of the week.

Sw Enduro at Haldon today. My first enduro, painfully slow and dabbed so many times on all four stages. But a great laugh and really chilled atmosphere. Freezing cold in the wind and baking when that stopped. Top day. Hats off to the organisers, all 4 sections were varied and mixed it up really well.
