    They dont last long enough.

    Mate;

I know that was hard for you, but thanks. I was struggling and I couldn’t go on. I’ve tried to keep up appearances for you but I couldn’t any more, so when it was time, thanks so much for doing what you had to do. I know it’ll make you sad, but try not to be; you’ve been the best owner I could have wished for and today just proved it.

Think of the good times we had together and remember me as the strong fit dog that i was. And when time has healed, do one more thing for me. Give another dog the chance you gave me, so they too can know what it means to be cherished.

    Thanks for everything.

    Dog. :-)

Fan of the Sennheiser SE’s range of in ear headphones.

215’s should be in the right price bracket. Replaceable wire too.

I’ve got the 535’s, they’re stunningly good. Had the 425’s and they were excellent too.

Detachable tow bar. Bike rack on the back, way easier to load bikes.

Elite Direto here, no issues at all, works flawlessly with Zwift.

Its quieter than I imagined it would be too. Sturdy no wobble, nice that the legs can be individually adjusted too I think.

Cant think of anything bad to say , perhaps a slightly longer power lead wire would be good?

I’ve an ANT USB stick, works great with it. I didn’t like the cadence out of it so use a garmin one on the stays and pedal instead.

My first direct drive turbo too.

The only annoyance, which it isn’t really, is the dot matrix sound when it’s changing the power

I like that noise, reminds me its working / communicating whatever.

I’d love a new TV but our aging Plasma refuses to die,

Probably just as well as I don’t think the modern tv’s can hold a candle to its picture. Maybe an OLED can but they’re too large and Spenny for out house or wallet.

    Prawn crackers win.

They don’t need pickle or chutney to make them palatable.

They’re meant to be better but I doubt anyone can physically notice.

I’d still pay the extra for goodridge.

Goodridge on my Dh bike, with reusable ends, now they are worth the money! Especially for a habitual frame swapper.

    Flip side,

I’m usually outside land surveying, setting out, bashing pins or pegs in, walking usually 8-12 mile a day. Carrying surveying kit about etc

Currently in an senior engineer role do more office based, leaving my energy levels free to batter Zwift every few nights.

Plus I’m inside in winter. :D

Not much of a gamer but F1 2017 is stunning on the ps4

Only game I’ve played for longer than 25 min stints.

    Wanted GT but holding off

Also got dirt, project cars, ww2, and a few other shooter ups

F1 is that good I nearly bought a steering wheel for£200 the other day. Still might!

XT cranks, hope rings, Sram x0 shifter on the right, x7 on the left, X0 rear mech, Xt front mech, King Bb.

Not sure yet if the x7 shifter will work on the Xt front mech, find out when it arrives, it should. If not I’ll be using an Xt shifter on the left

Proper miss mash. Not arsed tho.

must say when one goes full throttle on colour accents it can get old fast – For my new build I’ve gone for black components but sneaking in a bit of colour via brake mounts – rotor bolts – headset spacers etc .. The cheaper swappable parts – Easier to change when you invariably grow bored of your chosen colour scheme .

    +1

If it’s a Soul though, and not orange, you need orange bits on it.

    Recently sold my Spitfire.

It’s a great bike, lovely to hammer along on, I found mine a bit small for me when riding up, perfect size for riding down. It always handled everything I put it through, from Stiniog to Pila, the French Alps, all over Scotland, Gt, Innerleithen, Laggan etc, the peaks, Wales.

If I could say anything, it made things easy and often I’d feel a bit underwhelmed on a trail as the Spitfire simply made it dead easy to ride.

Stuff that I should have been buzzing from after riding left me a bit underwhelmed? Dull, almost, simply because the bike was that good. The bike wasn’t dull though. Far from it.

Thats the reason I sold it, now on a cotic soul. Bring the excitement back.

Maybe I’m wrong but I was always told if it’s too good to be true, it usually is…

Too good to be true prices, from a company nobody has ever heard of?

Hope I am wrong but I ain’t buying.

    Money no object, 240s.

    Chris King surely?

    I’ve had Hope

    I’ve had DT

I’ve still got Chris King. 8 years old, numerous Alp trips still perfect inside. one bike part that has been constant on numerous frames forks etc.

Hope or DT as a choice, DT no question. Quicker ratchet engagement nicer sound by far from the rear than Hope IMO.

I love our 2010 new shape 520d auto estate.

Comfy, fun, economic, quick, effortless, large enough but not barge like.

Drove it full up to Italy and back, twice this year. Once filled with mates and Dh bikes on it, once with family and bikes on it. :D

It never put a foot wrong. When we got back, if I’d have had to turn around and go back, I would have. Without even a moan.

Last time I got a bus, it had a kid on it who wouldn’t stop crying and tantrums and literally throwing it’s toys out the pram across the bus.

Useless mother didn’t even throw it off the bus! I was very tempted to help out.

Time before that I was able to drown out child noise with my headphones but they couldn’t protect me from the smell of BO

This major step forward in bike technology (Boost, rear 142 to 148mm and front 100 to 110mm) is about making “old” Bike bits obsolete.

Bodge your perfectly good hub to fit? Sounds like a bodge,

I’m sticking with what I’ve got. My perfectly good Ck hubs that I’ve had for 8 years can’t be adapted (without a bodge) but they’ve gone from qr to 20mm then 15, rear went from qr to “fun bolt” then 142mm but now it’s game over for them?

    F*** progress. Marketing c####

    I’m out.

We drove to Pila this year.

Hull to Zebrugge, Zebrugge to Pila. Living up north this suited us.

Overnight piss up on the ferry, Belgium 8am, Pila by 8 pm. Organised a meal to be ready on arrival, splendid.

Ferry was dear but included accommodation and breakfast. When I worked all out, it wasn’t that dear comparatively plus bikes on the back of a car in a ferry are really safe compared to a French hotel car park.

Doing it again in 2018 but to Leogang instead.

I can sell some 26″ ones with lovely lovely Dt Swiss 240 hubs if you like.

Just add rims, spokes and hour or so a wheel and the Wheelpro pdf book.

(edit) front is 15mm but multiple ends are available to make it qr or whatever. Back is 142×12. Again it’s pretty adaptable.
