I bought a Carrera TdF Road bike from a Halfords sale specifically for my turbo. :D

Just because, well, easier isn’t it. More so now I’m on a direct drive turbo

+1 for Roger Mussons book Wheelpro.

I’ve built loads of wheels using it. 10? None have broken, had broken spokes, or needed more attention.

It’s a simple process. Therapeutic too.

[Worst printer I ever owned was a HP, couldn’t even get it to work well with a HP desktop or HP laptop. Crap from day 1.

Canon that followed it was better but glad I took the 3 year warranty out on it!

Now got an Epson XP-960 as a free replacement off PC World for the canon that spat its ink out

The Epson it uses a lot of expensive ink though….beautiful prints though, up to A3 as well, A3 is sheet feed, A4 tray and 2nd tray I put 7×5 photo paper in.

Basically, they’re all shit. Pay your money, take the extended 3 year warranty out and then when it goes “pop”, go and get another one for free, just don’t bother buying ink in bulk, especially after year 2

    B

But only because I rarely come off because I’ve learned I only fall off when I brake or do something way beyond my ability. Then it’s usually ribs or shoulders.

    HYN BTW.

Dead last uphill, every time. :D Even if I have a head start. I’m faster than them on the couch though.

If you’re doing enough miles to warrant a diesel, maybe you should adjust your lifestyle so you’re doing fewer miles.

What a ridiculous thing to suggest, he’s probably not doing the mileage for fun you know.

I tested this out years ago, it’s tribal.

On my road bike, roadies would say hi back but not mountain bikers,

Visa versa on my mountain bike.

40 mile isn’t so much unless you go off too fast initially, go steady.

I’d be spending a week finding a really nice saddle as a priority though.

I had a car with a private reg, it wasn’t my private reg, the previous owners one.

It made me very self conscious in case people thought it was my private reg, sold the car a year later

I originally had intentions to get rid of the reg via the dvla but it was going to cost £300? So I never bothered.

    Tried trainer Road.

    Then tried Zwift,

I was just setting up an old (non Smart) turbo to try Zwift out, make sure it worked ok re Bluetooth, Ant+ and all that and my old laptop was up to it, (before splashing £750 on a smart trainer) I jumped on my trainer (just in normal cloths) and left the garage about 45 mins later in a sweaty happy mess.

That says it all really. Zwift is just more fun than anything else I’ve tried.

Larger rotors will give more power but less modulation / feel.

Happy with 180 everywhere (UK, Alps, etc) to be honest, best all round for feel and power.

Dpd Chemist drop offs are quite good, it’d be my preference where they’re concerned. Sounds like it’s their preference too. :D

The data used for nav is usually pretty minimal

few quid a month perhaps, at most?

Yes but, can you be on a call and receive data at the same time?

    Nope.

    Love my tomtom 5200 here.

Top of the range 5″ screen with free updates, free speed camera thingy updates, traffic too, free for life and WiFi so it’s dead simple to update. Worldwide maps too 8O

Built in sim card too so no need to connect it to your phone and use your own data.

Traffic is usually £45 a year? Well worth having in my experience.

    There’s a non WiFi version too, 5100.

We had to wait until wife’s sister arrived at 11am before Christmas could begin? WTF

It didn’t feel like Christmas by then..

The house also had three smokers in it, back door open, smoking allowing their smoke to blow in. (I’m an ex smoker for over 12 years so detest it intensely)

I dealt with it all the best way I could but it was certainly helped by bucks fizz.

At least it reminded me why we’ve gone away for Christmas for the last three years.

Bed early cos of call the bloody midwife, how utterly depressing is that in Christmas night. Even the musuc for God’s sake.

Bed now about to watch an uninterrupted episode of the grand tour on my tablet with my headphones in.

    Off to the MiL’s tomorrow,

    It’s my turn to ;
Sit on her couch and fart,
switch the TV over to what I want
Leave my plate at the table and go and watch shit on TV and sod you, even though you cooked, you can clear up aswell
    Not lift a finger,
Not do a tap even though I’m going to live in her house for 4 days.
Complain that food in the place I live in is better
Do a word search puzzle and generally ignore everybody else
Leave sweet wrappers stuffed in the side of the couch
Leave half finished tins of diet Coke on the floor by the couch,
Get my wife to buy cream cakes but then don’t eat them, ever.
Leave snot rag tissues on the bloody table
Sit around all day doing nothing.
Not answer the door if the doorbell rings
    Never offer to help ever.

Can’t wait. Revenge is a dish vest served old. :D

Had a surly karate monkey (29er), kept catching my feet on the front wheel.

Sold it, stayed 26 with my other bike, santa Cruz blur then got a banshee Spitfire, ran it 26 for a bit then went 27.5.

Sort of wish I’d stayed 26, 27.5 is that bit harder uphill with the same gearing as I had on 26.

    Thats progress though.

Had a Saab years back, he’d gasket went just out of warranty,

I asked Saab UK for help, they told me to take it to a local dealer and theyd fix it, I’d have to pay for parts, theyd pay for labour. :D

Pretty good result. Gaskets aren’t expensive

Worth asking Volvo directly if you’ve not already.

Edit, seen the 80% thing, snap their hands off. Record mileage when new lump went in.

Driving can still be a pleasure if people wouldn’t

    -Sit in the outside lane
    -Sit in the middle lane
    -Dawdle
    -Dither
-Sit in the second lane at a set of traffic lights that has a short run before merging back to one lane only to drive off like they weren’t in a position to overtake the van, bus, lorry in lane 1,
-Have headlights that are angled to blind you
-Put fog lights on when visibility is slightly misty perhaps but you can still see 500m clearly or its a bit rainy
    -Drive Nissan Alemeras
    -Drive up yer arse

I used to go through so many headsets I bought my own press!

Then I bought a Chris King one and never used the press again.

A few frames later I ended up with a hope that came with the frame (all new). It lasted 2 years. Top bearing.

Hope are good, Chris King are excellent, but a lot dearer of course.

    Yari is a cheap Lyric,

    Pike is a pike.

Went from 2017 revs to a 2018 pike, no comparison. Pikes well stiffer, more plush and just betterer
