That disease made me make an second bike (hardtail) for those rides that didn’t need a full sus or rides with family where a full sus would look, well, daft.

Soon the hardtail started getting ridden more and more and so needed blinger bits etc.

keeping 2 bikes is an expensive habit. It rarely stops with just your spare bits or cast offs fro your main bike.

had a total of :

1 inbred for 3″ forks (very early one)
1 20″ simgle speed for 3″ forks
1 20″ slidy drop out Inbred 4″ version
and a 456 Summer Season.

I miss the original 3″ inbred I had originally but am f**king loving the 456 I have now. (with Revs on)

I’d vote for Kodak Portra here too.

Used Porta many years ago and was very satisfied with the results. Once I tried Fuji (whatever the rival to portra is called) and was not impressed at all. too grainy for starters and that was a 400 and too contrasty.

One bad landing in the alps last year saw my rear 5.1 rim getting flat spotted.

Not sure I’d buy them again, unless I learned to ride better and / or lost some weight!

On 729’s now and although heavy, they seem bombproof.

I think CRC are great! despite sending me size 13 shoes instead of size 10!.

Never had a problem with their communication other than it takes a couple of days, always impressed by delivery speed too.

Fatty here too riding a 456 Summer Season with coil Revelations. Top bike. Feels a bit much with Pikes on.

If it becomes a regular meet, I’ll be able to join in, on occasions

Previous to that a 20″ normal Inbred and before that an 18″ Inbred that was too wee.

Lord, About that hope hub, what type was it? and do you want the XT dual controls for your deore levers?

I Need a rear hub because I don’t like my XT one on my full sus bike and don’t want to use the wheel off the 456 even though I can only ride one bike at a time and I want to get rid of my Xt dual controls and get normal levers and I need 510 shoes because someone said I needed them with flat pedals that I got because I wanted to try them instead of SPD’s for a bit which leaves the XTR SPD’s in their box still.

Not sure if I want or need any of it and could get by without any of it I guess. But since I jacked smoking a couple of years back my mountain biking habit suddenly got more expensive. Seems I have to be addicted to something and mountain bike riding probably won’t give me cancer but makes me smell on occasions

I’m not tight, just have lots of other stuff that I “need”

I just got some five ten basic’s, for 40.00 delivered from some place in Leeds but they are way too nice to ruin mountain biking when they look so good with jeans…

Of buy one of those weed killer pump up water thingies from B&Q and bring your own (low power) jet wash.

Same thickness tubing makes it cheaper and stiffer ie normal 456 has tubing that narrows in wall thickness at various sections. no idea why, flexiness, weight saving due to strength in certain bits not being necesary?? your guess is as good as mine

Head tube is slacker

Lacquered bare metal that is permeable to moisture means it rusts slowely beneath the lacquer. Looks cool!

IME, use 1/2 as much of the onion garlic & ginger stuff in the curry sauce. 1st one I made tasted watery.
