Took a while when my ’09 cracked. Had to chase it up a few times with bike shop.

I’ve been looking at the horsethief. Initially put of by bb, but still may consider it, then find out I have to change my chain set as you can’t run bigger than a 38t double. It alls starts getting pricey when coming from a 26″ set up. It does look good though!

Could wait a bit and see if they reduce the current non split-pivot, threaded bb shell, triple c/set frame, like they did with the ’12 model. Got one for a bargain £800 from CharlieTBM, and although I’ve only been able to ride it a handful of times, it is brilliant 🙂

How hard is it to build wheels? It is one of the few areas of bike maintenance I never thought of doing myself.

Not difficult, but you need quite a bit of patience!

What bikes bits do you hoard?

Everything, until recently. Literally shed loads! At one point l had eleven frames, and parts from 25ish years. Used to look at it and wonder what the hell to do with it all. Then l discovered Retrobike and have sold loads of it.There’s money in them old parts! 😀

Long shot I know, but anyone been in the Poole branch and can tell me if it’s worth going at 1ish, or will it all be gone?

I’ve got one. It’s well made and sturdy. Looks similar/the same to others like the Merlin one which is similarly priced at the mo.

I used yourcoverinsurance.com that was recommended on one of the previous threads. Can tailor it to your needs. Worked out cheaper than my M and S renewal for more cover 🙂

Used City Link Next Day through Parcel Monkey quite a few times to send frames and forks. No problems.
Pick up from home/work, which is handy 😀

With a manual you don’t pedal

Well you obviously do to get started, but then you’re coasting on the back wheel

Got my M&S renewal and premium’s gone up a few quid a month. Have just done a quote and naming ‘pedal cycles’ has gone down to ‘over £1000’. I added one bike over the limit and the quote was more than the renewal :(, so I’ll be staying as l am, as it’s £2000 limit.

I wouldn’t go near frank’s for a while. Been wet a boggy as hell all winter. Not much fun I can tell you, either up or down.

Simon’s spot on. It’s always shite in winter.
