Jeez, bit touchy ain’t we? All I said is it looks stupid. Mate of mine hired one when he broke his bike and it looked utterly ridiculous to me. I stress ‘to me’, as in my opinion. Last I knew I was allowed one.
All these bikes being ‘classics’. They are just oldish bikes that were good. I’ve had a few mentioned, but I just can’t look at bikes this deeply personally. Its just a bike.
I used to use Latex tubes exclusively. No punctures for ages, then out one day punctured had to put a butyl tube in. As I rode off post-fix I noticed that the ride was harsher. Only lasted a few minutes, then couldn’t tell.
Well, that’s it, the biggest bag of wankwastings I’ve read on here. Going to have to go some to beat that.
I’ve not had a big ring on any of my bikes for about 5 years and have never missed it. Have one bike with a 36T and find its more than enough. e13 make good solid bash guards too.
Have had a 5 spot for over 4 years and its still going strong. Its dented, battered, scuffed and seen it all. And I’d still take it over all the bikes you’ve mentioned. Fabulous bike. Just give it a little TLC.
I just used Minion 2.5 ST’s last year for two weeks, in fact they are still on the bike with plenty tread. Certainly didn’t go through them in a week and we were riding everyday bar one.
