I ride 6 days a week, but 5 of those are just commuting. I love biking, but it’s not my life. There is loads of other stuff I like to do. Wouldn’t want it to be the ‘be all and end all’ of my life, there is lots more to life than just riding/thinking/lusting after bikes in my opinion. I’m not either of the options I guess, I just like have a larf on bikes.

Never did get why everyone is obsessed with this pointless sheep.

I liked the first picture and then the second pictures hurt my eye balls. Those rims look bloody awful.

I wonder how many people have been injured or even killed by motorists today?

The usual expected STW reply whenever a cyclist is criticised…

Was there today. It’s all still there and the trails all fine. Some felling has happened further over, but nothing on any of the trails. The only downside of today was I was riding like an absolute bellend, crashed 6 times and decided to stop before I broke myself…

My butt is Rocket shaped. They haven’t stopped them have they?!

Last I heard about the Cademuir forrest was they were aware of the trails and were working around them to avoid damaging them. When felling work happened at Innerleithen the trails remained intact. So fingers crossed!

I may have to make a wee trip this weekend if trails open!

Shitsticks. Ah well, will only take a few months for it to all grow back eh?

Some of the best stuff I’ve ridden, such a steep twisty laugh. How much are they felling? Will it all be open land again. Gutted if it is!

Steed is a horse. Christ I wish people would stop typing that gash about bikes.

Anyhow, I’d be taking a serious look see at these:

Mine were sitting about 20mm too low in the fork leg, and got info here and sorted it. Pumped the PSI up to about 150, pushed the front wheel and pulled the stem away from each other and got the little ‘pist’ sound, put them back to the usual 75psi and they are now fine. Rode them on Sunday and all good.

I usually put the knee pads on the frame, my bike shoes and Dakine backpack in there too. Always been fine.

Cool. Sorted it. Like you said pumped up the PSI and pulled the bars and wheels and a wee air release sound happened and all good now! Will find out at the weekend when I ride it if it holds mind you.

It’s your bike, if you’re happy, then have a blast. Looks bloody awful to me mind you, but that’s just my opinion!

My new bike is the best bike I’ve had, no doubt, but this old dude is my favourite bike. Just loved that old 5 Spot, rode it for years, took it to Canada, the Alps, uplift days it, raced it, crashed it, dented it and it just kept going. And when I sold it, it was snapped up so quickly and with no price negotiation, just ‘I’ll take it.’ Do hope it’s still going.

Burner. Well, That’s what I’d have gone for if I hadn’t been seduced by carbon and my Pivot Mach 6. Would highly recommend looking at one of those too. What a superb bike it is.

Run a 30T. Works a treat. All depends on how hill it is where you ride really. Have lots of steep climbs in sunny Scotland.

I spoke to them about it, all they requested was to send a picture of the frame cut up and the frame number. Couldn’t bring myself to cut the frame up, so flogged it and bought one when sold.

Used to blast about the woods in my Raleigh Strika. Look they had suspension! Or so I used to think…

Got to say, for me, it’s not that good looking a frame. IMO etc etc

As I said at the start, got it done and very happy. Although two days after getting it done I sat on my old glasses and broke them as I didn’t see them…

Did it two years ago. Contacts were giving me grief and to quote the optician after trying various lenses types, ‘your eyes may well be telling you they just don’t want lenses in there any more.’ If it wasn’t for the biking, i’d just have gone back to glasses. But I HATE riding with glasses. So got ’em zapped. And to be honest, one of the best things I’ve done! No faff with lenses, no cleaning of lenses, no wondering where I left my glasses. Just pin sharp vision. That’ll do me.

Had my Alpine, what, 7-8 years now? One of the very first ones. And it’s just an absolute hoot of a bike, had so much fun with it. It’s robably a bit tired now, but if anything happened to it, I’d just buy another one. Never ridden a BFE, so can’t give a comparison between them. But Alpine = ace!

Just ran normal pads last year. I either mince or never brake when holiday. I’ve never gone through sets of pads in a week in the Alps.

Yes you’ll die. Of course you’ll die. Christ, why do **** people always feel the ‘need’ to say this pish every time. That and the ‘content’ shit gets on my tits too.

Both Thomson. Not because they HAD to be the same, just want both Thomson. If that makes sense.

Yeah, sometimes your heads just not into it that day. No big deal, not as if you sat about doing nothing. Forcing it will make it even less enjoyable.
