Some people get wound up by the smallest of things.

Had a set of old Saints for over fours years and have SLX’s that are about 3 years old now and perfectly fine.

Shimano everytime for me. Blitz the Alps and never ever had to send them away anywhere to be fixed or for parts replaced because I’ve never needed too.

Screen protectors seem a complete waste of money to me. Look crap on and not sure what they protect. My last phone was an iPhone 4 and I dropped it face down so many times and never a mark.

Most if not all biking videos bore me senseless. That one raised an eyebrow. Both in fact.

Mate of mine used to have one and he clobbered his pedals quite often. It always looked like it was sitting very low to the ground when we was riding it. I always thought he didn’t have the shock set right, but it was according to him as he played about with it all when setting it up.

13 and 20 months of waiting?! I’d have asked for my money a loooong time ago.

Shimano every time. Best brakes I’ve used by miles and miles and miles and miles and miles.

    And miles.

I spend all year ‘earning the downs’. I’m holiday. I want plenty twisty, steep, rooty, rocky, downhill fun. Not climbing thanks. And I’ve been with Bike Village, was great, but more down and less up for me.

Don’t understand all the haters. It’s bizarre. I love it.

Why’s it bizarre? Some like something, others don’t. Pretty simple really.

    That all looks rather nice.

Fiver including registered postage and a test ride to see if it’s what I want.

Right enough Al. Knew you snapped your chain just to give them time to sort the gears out.

I took a couple of fellas out on their Mojos the other weekend. Completely left them in my wake on my 5 Spot. One of them had his set up with dodgy gears. Was a bit embarrassing to be honest…

If anything make a choice between the last two. That first one has just about the worst paint job I’ve seen!

Pimping a bike looks utter gash. As all these ‘pimped’ bikes confirm.

A couple of ones I don’t mind, but on the whole I find them all pretty dull and boring. I’d rather be on the bike than watching someone else.

I don’t think which is ‘better’ really matters. It’s all about what you want and what you’ll use it for. They both might do equally what you require, so buy which one you want. It’s a just phone with fancy features wether an iPhone or an Android phone.

I’ve worked with Apple products for over 20 years, I like them, mainly because I use them everyday in working and living life so I’m used to them. I’m not a fan of PC’s, buts that because I’ve always worked with Mac’s. But that doesn’t mean that PC are rubbish. They do pretty the exact same thing, just what you prefer working with. All the PC V Mac and iPhone V Android agruments that always happen all seem pretty pointless to me, see which suits you best, which you prefer and buy and what you want. Pretty simple.

No, the road is open again, but the path off it is still closed. But just go along to Roseburn Street, right at the lights on to Roseburn Terrace and the then first left onto Wester Coates Terrace, up the road a bit and take a left onto the path. Takes 2mins. Been doing it all year.

June in the Alps. LIking it.

After a month in hospital with a double fractured skull, this was one of my first rides back off road. Was a good day. Simple pic, but meant a lot to me.

    The Cambridge burgers are ace!

Ecco Vino on Cockburn Street is a chilled out wee Italian place if your boy likes Italian food. http://www.eccovinoedinburgh.com

Whiski Rooms on the Mound do good food too. http://www.whiskirooms.co.uk

Been three times with the White Room and can’t recommend them enough. Top people and and fantastic holiday. And James food was bloody amazing. Still think about the pork belly burgers he made… dribble…

I have a theory though. I think the mountain bike industry shoots itself in the foot sometimes, even if it is just with a spud gun. The constant changes in equipment I’m talking about. You buy something one year, the kit that is the greatest innovation in the sport only to be told in a few months you’d be better off with the next best thing. I just sense this backlash in the background. I kinda give up where’s me road bike.

Disagree with most of that. New stuff always coming out, yes. But not all of us rush out and buy it. I’m one of them. Buy what I need when I need it, not just because its new and shiny.

It’s wasn’t that great before the bannings either. Same dull threads day in day out.

My personal view is for the fans and players to stop rambling on about ‘this is Liverpool FC, we should be doing this and that and we will challenge for the title this year, next year, the year after, we should have that player, that manager etc etc’ and just concentrate on sorting out the team. Build it up and be prepared to stop being delusional. They won’t challenge for the title for years! When have they come second? 3 times in the last 20 odd years? Third a few times but usually miles behind 1st. They won’t even get a top 4 spot for a few years at least. They’ve never been consistent enough. And when a few years back when they did for once push for the title it was Rafa who lost the plot and blew it.
