Dialled Alpine. Such a fabulous wee bike.

If of any interest. It seems to have sorted itself. I reckon it was an app update that’s been messing with it’s mojo!

I’m just gonna bump this up a bit :)

That’s what I suspected @Frankenstein. It just all happened so suddenly. Checking the battery usage section, nothing stands out using up loads of battery live.

Peebles for me. You got Glentress on and off piste, Innerleithen on and off piste, you got Gypsy Glen, you got Cademuir forest and you’ve also got The Golfie. Plenty to choose from. In fact if you drive through Innerleithen and down to Thornylee, stuff there too. But dunno how much has been left after the forestry works.

I’ve always had all the settings set to off or ‘when in app’ etc. I’m thinking wipe and reinstall if I don’t get a chance to get to an Apple Store. That’s what’s been weird about it, it just suddenly starting doing it a few weeks back, there been no gradual difference in battery life since new,, just suddenly started munching its way through the battery.

Good point khani, I always loved the look of may old 5 Spot HL frame. Clean. My DW 5 Spot was a brilliant bike, but the back end of it was proper ugly.

    Ugly and wonky looking. Next.

I commute on SPDs, but ride off road on flats. Used to SPD off road, but discovered I prefer flats. Neither is better, it’s just what feels better for you.

Looks alright. Looks like most other ‘enduro’ style bikes really. Don’t like the machined back end mind you.

Apart from it being unbearable dull these days, the biggest issue I have is about 90% of F1 chat in the media usually revolves around what happening OFF the track. The politics, the bickering, the arsed up new ‘rules’.

For me, we want Jim Clark back :) 1967 Italian GP, leading for 12 laps, puncture, gets lapped by everyone. Then with 48 laps remaining, unlaps himself, then overtakes everyone to take the lead, only for a faulty fuel pump meaning he finishes 3rd. Bosh. That’s what I want to see!

It’s obviously custom tuned for me, but was surprised at the recommended 180 PSI in it (it’s a Float X CTD). But thought, well, they know what they’re doing! Found the back end felt too high on PSI intalliy, but left it for the whole ride to then make a judgement. And they were right. Defiantly felt better on the climbs and the Pivot Mach 6 climbs brilliant before hand, so a nice bonus. Decent though is where I really noticed it. Very plush, the back end didn’t have the skittering about it used to which I always presumed was my cack handed style of riding. Never felt I was squishing through the travel, it was all in a much better controlled smoother way. It dawned on me half way round that I wasn’t actually thinking about what it was doing that much as it was just dealing with everything brilliantly and the bike felt in much better, faster way. Whether I was actually going any faster I dunno, but it just inspired my confidence more and had me chucking the bike around more. Probably not, but it felt that way! Or was just being even more cack handed…

Doesn’t matter what colour they paint it, it’s still a godamned ugly frame. All about the ride though ain’t it.

Been running 1×11 for about two years now with no chain device and think the chains dropped off once. See no need at all for one personally. It’s been raced and Alp’d with no problems. Like what’s been said, might be different for different suspension designs.

Yeah, cos people from Edinburgh just love Glaswegians.

Always irked me this statement when it’s made. Sure there’ll some Edinburgh folk disliking Glaswegians and vice versa. But not everyone. I’m born and live in Edinburgh and think Glasgow is awesome. Bloody huge place as well compared to Edinburgh. Lots of very cool bars and great places to eat. My only complaint is I don’t go through there nearly enough.

Holy F*ck – Lucky. I just adore this song. Love how the beat builds back up about half way through. Awesome band live too, go see if you ever get the chance.

(although whoever uploaded this called it the wrong song name)

Not trying to keep pushing the Mach 6 (well, I am really) but I got a demo bike for a whole weekend from the importers via the bike shop for no charge. My mate has a SB5C and is love with it and he’s been through just about ever bike available, so a SB6C worth a look.

I’d through a leg over a Pivot Mach 6, had mine year and half and it’s an superb bike. I’d also defo look at a Turner RFX and the HD3. I’m a DW fan. If not already obvious…

Was this a competition to design the worst looking bike? Some totally achieved it.

Last day in the Alps in September with The Whiteroom. 9 mile descent. 9 miles! Then picked up in the van and driven to the next descent. Another 4.5 miles. Then smashed two pints down a very happy chap. Best days riding I’ve done. It just kept going!
