Ah right. I meant the levers. The Deore one above looks like the old SLX design on one of my bikes.

Far as I know the only difference is the adjustment knob? Effectively the exact same brake, just with added knobs? I’ve got old and new SLX and both ace.

None. Don’t like the stye of any of them. Never been a fan of Oranges and hate swoopy downtubes. Giant if I had to chose one.

Used to have a Santa Cruz Bullit and Santa Cruz offered the floating thingy as an option. Never got one if only for the reason they look bloody awful. Just looked like something waiting to get ripped off the frame. Dunno if they ever did, but highlighted the issue of single pivots and braking. They do brake fine, but always noticed a difference between them and my 5 Spot HL/DW link. Those systems braked, the single pivot was always a more skippy. You always stopped though.

Don’t agree personally. Yeah, team want the constructers title, but if your racing to win the race, boost your championship chances and in the same race Alonso spun out. **** the team the orders, go for the win. Like your meant to do being a racing driver. Racing to win as many races and points as possible.

Otherwise you look like a coward, a liar and a cheat.

Really? Don’t see that at all.

Personally, I think he did the right thing. Team orders are stupid, they are meant to be ‘racing’ to win the race.

Lost some of my Thomson bolts and found this fella on ebay. £1.10 for 5 bolts. He does loads of different sizes and lengths if of any use.

Was at Dumyat today. Bone dry and no snow or ice. Can’t remember the last time I rode that place so dry!

Did the red last Sunday minus Spooky Wood. Could ride up it all. Was snowy and icy which made it slippy but was a larf.

Hmmm, was thinking of avoiding North 3rd as usually a muddy mess this time of year. Might check out Dumyat.

RS Revelations can be £750 or so at RRP, so why’s everyone getting their knickers in a twist at the pricing?

    Because it’s expensive I’d have thought…

£750/800 and tapered only? Scratch that one off the list. Seriously thinking of going down from two bikes to one. Parts, new frames, new forks all getting so bloody expensive it’s seriously **** me off.

No, I think your point is completely missing the point.

Like I said, completely missing my point.

The way I see it is the roads are full of idiots, whether in a car or van or bus or truck, whether a cyclist or a pedestrian. Yes, the motorist drive the the most lethal out them all, no doubt about that. But I think it’s all about the person not just ‘car drivers’. In Edinburgh I see god awful drivers on phones, no lights, no indicators, speeding all over the place. Then cyclists on pavements, red light jumping, going the wrong way down a one way street. A cyclist I almost hit with my car a few months ago rode out a park, no lights, one arm holding a large bit of wood. I slammed the brakes on blaring my horn, he did a wobbly u-turn about a foot in front of me to go back the other way and almost got twated by a large flat bed truck and rode off the wrong way down the street. And pedestrians walking over roads texting, Facebooking, or the old couple crossing a very busy double lane road yesterday with all their shopping when the pedestrian crossing was 10 feet away.

I’m not defending any one them, but it ain’t all about ‘bad drivers’. Its all about people in general just being bloody stupid.

Woman crashes into cyclist and gets away with it.

And wouldn’t say she ‘gets away with it’. That would mean nothing happened and she was still allowed to drive.

Very bad what happened, but agree with above. Jail seems a bit pointless, it was a bad accident, the 10 year ban from driving is excellent.

Too much wine. Fell down my stairs outside my flat. Cracked my skull twice, traumatic brain injury, bleeding brain. No memory of it happening. Woken up by the police two days later as I was in bed as no one could get a hold of me. Month in hospital fixing short term memory loss, learning how to remember and learn again, big ass headaches, seeing a psychologist, speech and language counselor, social counselor and physio each morning. Lost sense of smell and taste, still not 100% that one either.

So, yes, thats the worst thing I’ve done when drunk I’d say. But thankfully, all fixed! Well, I hope so…
