La Thuile is a right giggle, it is indeed. But I did find it got a wee bit repetitive after being there all day. Wouldn’t want to spend my whole riding there. See if White Room have any spare places those days. They’ll take you to some of the best riding places you’ll do. The place is chockers with it. It’s just knowing where it all is really.

You did Glentress and not Innerleithen? Do that for sure, the 7 Stanes route, plus plenty more to be found if you go a hunting. And if you can find it all, across the river is some superb riding. Was there today, some amazing trails hidden away.

Kirroughtree too. Stirling has loads of great trails. Aviemore and loads more.

I agree, the HL link are far better looking. The back end of the DW 5 Spot ain’t the best looking part. But I love the thing and can’t see the back end as I’m pointing it down a hill! The Czar carbon frame rear triangle looks much nicer.

Comparing them. Difficult to say as I’ve not ridden the HL for years. Both awesome climbing/descending frames. The one thing I do prefer is the DW back end is much stiffer as the pivots are all shorter and in the centre of the frame.

Never have any interest in watching the tour, or any racing actually, so don’t really care who wins. Any druggies been kicked out yet?

Would love to know the best option too. I’m getting quotes more expensive than my flippin’ car insurance! One will be covered by the house insurance, but the other one not. Getting quotes from £380-£430 for the year!

I stayed here when I was down there for a wedding. Big garage for the bikes, fab breakfast.

Was up there with cynical. Very dusty, very dry, very fun. Not often I say that about the Pentlands.

    My old one.

New one in the Alps last year. Now has new bars. And Brakes. And cranks. And still really needs a new saddle…

I’ve gone with HighRollers single ply the last few years and been fine.

I’ve got new and old SLX and they are both superb. I got a good deal on them and didn’t see much point in spending more for XT. And I didn’t like the shininess of XT to be honest!

That’s a good question, yes, I think it is. I can’t remember. Did there used to be a choice of top tube length in the MK1’s?

Love my Alpine. Fantastic bike. It looked like this when first built. New bars, brakes, cranks etc since then. Had it over 5 years and no plan to replace it. It’s too much of a larf.

The White Room. Best bike holidays I’ve had. Got three spaces left that week too:

Could you explain why it adds more risk please.

Because the ear plugs are right in your ear and cut out the noise of traffic, not completely but enough for me to feel very uneasy, so no music. Peoples choice if they want to, pretty stupid as far as I’m concerned.

no more dangerous than listening a radio in the car

Bit more dangerous I’d say. Getting a bump in the a car or getting bumped BY a car would be more painful I’d say…

I ride 6 miles to work and luckily 95% is on a cycle/walk way path, so music on all the time. On the road, no way, too risky for me personally.

Noooooooo. Please don’t head down the bloody awful swoopy tube route. Always loved Turners straight tubing, with only ones with a very slight curve.

So much amazing stuff there. I always found Black 8 and the Les Arc bike park bit pretty crap. All the other natural stuff hidden away all over the place is just superb.

The DH trails at Innerleithen are ace, not all mega jumps and doubles, some fantastic tight and twisty trails. The other DH stuff over the river is bloody fantastic too. Steep!
