    Injuries:

None first year, last year was sore head, whip lash for two months and a smashed helmet.

As above, don’t compromise on tyre setup. Dual ply DH tyres, preferably tubeless. The quali course starts off with a 10min DH track. So 6″ coil sprung travel is good.

Single ring is fine, 34 or 36t. There are more flat bits rather than climbs. In fact, there is only one gentle climb on the quali course (easy on 34t ring) and one IMPOSSIBLE climb on the race trail that everybody pushes anyway.

The quali is the most fun. start is a good laugh. Get to lift stations early as you get **** NUMPTIES queuing HOURS before there starts. E.g. in 2007 and jsut made the start of quali 2 as there were loads of people in the queues from heats 4,5,6 etc. ****. Don’t be one of them.

    vid of quali start:

I had tihs with my reign. Resorted to putting the rear triangle in the freezer, then using a lot of precision force wit ha hammer and screw driver to get the shell out.

I just think the men on here need to be bit more respectful towards the lasses and restrain their “laddish” sides a bit. There are abound to be loads of women reading the site but not posting as they are too intimidated. It’s fair enough the extrovert girls being able to enjoy the site, but not everybody is a confident extrovert. I’ve taken the time to be nice and helpful to the everybody (just my nature) and I’ve made a couple really, really good female friends.

We have surveyors that use Garmin Zumos. One of them doesn’t have a working car charger. Lasts a whole day easily.

    Cheers lads (and lass).

Shandy… my reputation proceeds me as ever!!

GNARGNAR… that’s the kind of shoe I’m looking for, i’m not doing serious mileage or rough terrain. Just need to get to about 8 miles for the marathon leg in may.

My legs and right knee are really, really sore today. That’s why I normally use the treadmill. Might pop back to my physio for check-up.

    3. Actually, it was quite nice. But i have a feeling it will begin to chafe. not so erotic. Or maybe it was because I was wearing my mega avalanche jersy and was thinking of all those big hills?

My garage is my mud room. back from ride, strip off to boxers, walk around the side of the house, (give the woman behind a bit of a thrill), into house then shower.

    Sorry mate.

But seriously, Halfords or local car bling type shop is your best bet. Are you not thinking of changing your car soon anyway?

Surely the music on the radio is much better than your CD collection anyway?

    Sounds dirty (the player).

I’d go to Halfords and get them to fit one of the MP3/Ipod head units. You have no mission if fitting it yourself, even I’d struggle 😉

I think I’ll just go back to the gay Israeli chap that sells the dead sea stuff in the shopping centre and get some of his moisturiser.

Well, just back from Tesco. Got a date tomorrow night so no time to visit a chemist.

range was poor, doesn’t Tesco realise we need more than their own brand or Gillette face balm products!! I mean woman have more tampon options than that!

Anyway, I got some Tesco Skincare Intelligence (or SI) smoothing balm. It seems OK. Fragrance is a bit too brash though, I prefer a more natural, meadow type fragrance. But it’ll do for now.

Massage oil is wasted on the face!

Bunnyhop… it’s OK but a bit greasy for my skin.

Ok, tarka, you have let us all down!! My moisturiser lives in my work backpack along side a screw driver, pen knife and some condoms. Not a beige wash bag!!

Shaving rash, rather than dry skin is my problem, esp on my neck. Really sore today, right at the edge of my collar! Another reason why I hate suits…

No ladies able to advise on what feels best to them?

I’ll try the king of shaves. I have a Dead Sea Minerals face scrub/balm type thing. It softens the skin quite well but leave it dry. Is the king of shaves not very pungent? I like a subtle scent…

Really, making bacon is child’s play. You just make up a dry cure, cure the joint for a few days, smoke if you want. Keep in the fridge for a month.

I’ve only done streaky/pancetta so far. Going to do a couple whole back/belly next. I have a farm shop near me that rear and butcher saddle back and glouster old spot pigs.

Yes, I know.. use it for my personal accounts… this is a work account on an Exchange server, we all use Outlook.

I’ve got round it in the mean time by sharing the users address book so we can open it in our Outlook.

Excellent stuff, can always rely on STW 🙂

Are there any damp issues if using the paint or a sealant? We have damp coming if from either the door seal or over the damp proof coursing at the rear of the garage… it’s definitely not rising damp. We’ll be clearing the crap behind the garage to bring the ground down below the damp proof course.

hire stuff is about 25% cheaper if you book in advance.

Self catering is the way to go. get a hire car and stock up at the local LARGE super marche and avoid the small Casino or Champion corner shops.

Beer an d wine is still very cheap in the super/hyper markets. Stock up for the week. Make packed lunches. Can cut costs.

But the best thing to do is to go to a small, obscure resort like Praz Sur Arley and pints are only €4 🙂 and you can eat out for €30 a head for two courses and a load of vin de maison.

My Octavia is quite small for an estate (narrow as Golf floor pan and shallow as 4-wheel drive) so I’d avoid it. Passat is OK, but not massive.
