Bunny…. this is what we did, but may not suit your application.

Our house is in drumlin country so the the area around is basically solid cay/rocks. For our glasshouse we stripped all the topsoil away, and laid a modest concrete foundation with a double layer of blocks on top. This was filled with topsoil and the glasshouse built on to the double blocks.

But we're growing from the ground rather than (by the sounds of it) growing from tressel tables/pots etc.

I can give my engineering consultancy next month 😉

Not everyone who has tats regrets it, I love mine!

Yeah, I think we all need to see a pic of it to remember what it is again 😉

he's a weirdo. And that's coming from me, a weirdo. Avoid.

It's easy to become over enthusiastic and over excited at the start of a (potential) relationship. You either avoid and get out of there or try and bear it and see how things turn out. But if somebody is talking about their needs and expectations before you even meet… then, girl, get out of there. Ther are far better, more stable and interesting men out there 😉 *cough* email in profile 😉

If any of you do want to come over next year, make a long weekend of it and get some trails in. Happy to show people around the trails in the North.

Er… the clamping bolt/compressing part of the clamp goes over the split in the tube (i.e photo 2). Simple physics/engineering. As the clamp compresses (at the gap, were the bolt is tightened), it in turn compresses the seat tube, and it contracts where the split is. That is why it is there.

Nice one. Great Idea. Pity I'm not close enough! I think there are about 3 single ladies in NI that bike, and I've dated one of them!

Bunnyhop agrees with me. A lady of distinction and taste. I took a girl out on a walk/picnic for a second date at about 1pm on a Saturday. I didn't leave her place until 8am Monday morning 🙂 The fact that I made everything from scratch myself, and chose the most magical location, was the key. A couple soggy Tesco sarnies in a lay by doesn't count lads…

Easy, romantic picnic, but you have to put effort in to the preparation. Will melt any ladies heart. Worked for me.

All I can say is take care. Be very cautious with electric trimmers. They can cause surprising amounts of damage and bleeding.

handyman… that sounds cool. I'd do XC races if they were like that over here…

bunnyhop, yep we do. You have to have the right sense of humour though. The piss-taking, laughs and bizzarness of it all make the Epic Blast the best MTB event in the world. Prefer it to the Mega Avalanche.

I'd like to say it was a mad weekend of extreme biking, mad nights out, fornication and heavy drinking… but me and my mate were in bed (alone) for 10pm on the sat night hahaha!

Yeah, dry, warm and sunny. It was like some sort of alien world…. not ridden in conditions like that since the Mega in July!

    Skoda Octavia, 4X4 turbo estate.

Why? Wanted a low mileage estate car for four grand that wasn't a Pug 407 or mondeo. Or diesel.

Plus it's quick. And I can do power slides in fields or on beaches. Braaaap!

Champery. Great place. Loved the runs there. Peoples was good.

We were there in late June/ ealry July. The gap over the ditch on Peoples wasn't as built up as that. It was much flatter. Looks much better there. but it was still pretty easy to hit.

Cool to see you hitting the stuff on the Slope Style runs. There weren't ready when we were there.

The "unknown" trail in your vid….. recognise that a mile off…. that bitch of a trail, Coupe Du Mond, Chatel. Hardest track I've ever ridden. So much so I've tried to build a mini replica ober here in honour!!!

Can't wait to go back there next year.

That's the thing I noticed about Les gets/Morzine. hundreds of bikers on the trails leading in to the main resorts. but very few up in the depths of the mountians. trails are far, far better up there. The run back from Chatel to Avoriaz is cool.

hmm…. I was in the process of starting a business making chutney and preserves (inc the impossible-to-get Sloe Jelly). Maybe I could make my fortune selling Sloe Poteen to STW alcos?

I'm not a spirit fan, but a good, old poteen is the smoothest and most delicious drink known to man. We had a few sips of a 5 yr old bottle the other weekend and ended up giving it to our English visitors because they were so amazed by it.

see the search bar up on the top RHS of the tool bar? There will be a list of search engines, the one that is selected will be the default search engine. It is probably set to yahoo. Change it back to Google and when you do the right click it will use Google as it will be the default search engine.

I'm hoping to move from a 40 hour week to a 20 hour week next month and start my own foody company in the remaining time. If it goes well then I can drop the main job and concentrate on my business.

The current trail I'm building is so steep the tool I need most at the minute is a harness and climbing rope!!

I have proper tools stashed, but can somebody give me a link to an Ebayer that sells proper folding spades? As in the toughened steel jobbies with the serrated edges. I know there are some crap ones about so wont something that will last. Cheers.

Cool, hopefully that will cure the scary noises from the front of the bike. If not, it's the forks…
