I have a Watchman Sensit, works fine, sends an email every day or two with the tank level and the app shows usage etc. My tank is cylindrical so it’s accurate enough, I don’t particularly care that it’s not exact, the main thing is I know the tank is getting low and I don’t run out between Christmas and New Year which has happened in the past…..

She’s your Mum. If you have any half decent relationship she’ll understand and send you away with her blessing, you sound like the type of person who would do the same in her shoes, any loving parent would. I assume she’s lucid in which case you get to say a proper goodbye, when the end is near she may be unconscious and not really aware of your presence anyway. One thing I’ve learned is there is no right on wrongs in this type of situation, go with your gut and I’m sure it it will be fine

I have a pair of pebe covers on the front of my Connect, not cheap but fitted perfectly, haven’t moved an inch and still look as good as new. More than one person has mistaken them for leather seats

To echo Leffeboy – I remember once my van broke down in the middle of town during biblical rain so phoned a good mate with a car trailer to ask if he could rescue me. He left his work early, drove home for his trailer and drove 25 miles into town to pick me and the van up. Got back to my place and after unloading the van we’re both standing there soaked through with me thanking him profusely with offers of money for fuel etc. “Don’t be silly” he said – “You’d do the same for me”. And he was right

I was going to say the the Worx website currently has 20% off but it’s showing the 5ah batteries as out of stock. Plenty on their ebay shop at full price though

    Hmmm………..

Could dust be a factor? I would imagine there’d be fine dust being produced when cutting, sewing etc and also on the fabrics themselves

“Any bugger can stick two pieces of metal together but not everyone can weld”

So said a welder I worked with who’d served his time in a ship yard. He was a big-headed so-and-so but he was blooming good. Once watched him lay a weld on a piece of steel then wash it away with an oxy acetylene torch, not a mark left. If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes I wouldn’t have believed it

1 – It doesn’t seem to be floating your boat so not really an option

2 – For all their faults they’re getting rare now so it would be a shame to lose an orginal example in good condition, be as well buy something that needs some work

    So that leaves 3

If you want to keep your payments even then generally you would build up a credit over the summer then eat into it over the winter when usage usually goes up. If you’re pretty confident you know what your usage is going to be do you not have the option to lower your direct debit on EON’s website or app? But yes, companies seem to over estimate usage and set your direct debit accordingly, I guess it’s safer for them if you don’t go into a negative balance

Purchased a Wren kitchen at the beginning of the year. Quote process was pretty painless and I liked being able to see and touch the various options. Yes, the fitted price was ridiculous but units only wasn’t that bad. I did a like for like comparison with DIY Kitchens and they were cheaper but not by that much and I figured wasn’t it worth it for the potential hassle of trying to sort out any issues at a distance rather than being able to walk into a showroom. Surprised about the comment of gouging on appliances, Wren had a price match guarantee and more importantly could actually supply them where everywhere else was out of stock

Delivered when they said they would, slight damage to the back of one unit that will never be seen and wasn’t worth complaining about. I suppose I was lucky that a kitchen fitter pal installed it as a favour and I was able to do the services/painting/tiling etc myself. Spoken to a few people since that have Wren kitchens and they all seem pretty happy with them

I also wouldn’t count on your baggage going straight through. I was once on international in then an onwards internal flight. I was specifically told that my baggage was checked straight through but I got speaking to someone on the plane who said that it would definitely be unloaded. Sure enough it came through the baggage carousel

Take clothes off inside-in, how difficult is it? I don’t mind putting on a load of washing but trying to unfurl a tight ball of my son’s smelly socks or a pair of trousers with one leg the right way and the other inside-out is not part of the job description. See also my wife who manages to take off leggings, underwear and socks in one go leaving an inside-in/inside-out tangle that would give Houdini nightmares!

As per Daffy’s post, £300 equity + £100 savings + £400 mortgage equal the £800 purchase price. Where’s the £50 stamp duty coming from? Do they want evidence you can pay?

Approaching a roundabout in the inside lane of a dual carriageway where a third filter lane opens up on the left just before the roundabout for vehicles turning left. I’m going straight on but move from primary to the middle of the lane to discourage lorries or buses from trying to overtake me but still get back into my lane for the roundabout. It’s my regular commute and it wouldn’t be the first time I’ve had an artic’s back wheel 6” from my right shoulder and a car to my left leaving me nowhere to go.

Anyway, I reach the roundabout and a car draws up on my left in the filter lane. Window goes down and the guy says “you should have signalled”

    “What for?” says I

    “You moved over”

”But I’m in the same lane?”

”Doesn’t matter, you should have signalled”

”So what exactly is the hand signal for moving over in the same lane?”

”Harrumph!” Windows goes up and he drives off

Been selected and put on the jury twice. First trial was abandoned just as it was starting to get interesting but the second went to a conviction. Didn’t claim any expenses as work still paid my wage. I found it fascinating to see how the wheels of justice turned and overall a positive experience. Be prepared for a lot of sitting around

My late 2018 Connect Euro 6 is adblue. Had it about 6 months and it’s going ok so far. I was looking for either the Connect Tourneo or Caddy Maxi Life and the Connect popped up first. Equipment levels are similar, probably main difference is seating arrangement. On the Connect middle and rear seats fold down to give you a flat floor but you sacrifice some height. I can get a bike stood up with the front wheel off no problem though. The Caddy’s rear seats are more easily removed but you then need somewhere to store them and the middle set fold forward which means you presumably lose some length. Swings and roundabouts

Even if you have key cover check what it actually covers. Lost the key to my car and garage wanted £300 to supply new key and code it to the car. No probs, I thought, I’ll just claim off my insurance. Turns out they wanted all the locks changed in case some ne’er do well found the old key and tried to steal the car which put the price north of £1k and invoked the voluntary excess of £500. Didn’t bother and found the lost key a couple of week’s later in my Dad’s car, it must have slipped out my pocket

Still doesn’t help the OP though…..

As above keep a diary about your injuries, doctor’s appointments even your mood etc. There’s a good chance you’ll be interviewed by a doctor as part of a claim and it’s good not to have to rely on memory. Took over 2 years for my case to be settled after something similar

I think with anything new (car/bed/bike/wife) you need to allow at least 2-3 weeks for your body to get used to the new position. We lashed out what I thought was a ridiculous sum on a new memory foam topped mattress and for the first 3-4 nights I was convinced I’d made an expensive mistake. I was roasting hot and couldn’t get comfy but after a while things settled down and I can now fall asleep at the drop of a hat

If you’ve usually no problem sleeping I suspect you’ll get used to it
