    Sounds knackered to me.

Its either leaking out ( you should see it) or being burned through the engine, then it could be rings, turbo, valve guides. Just worn out.

I would seriously consider buying secondhand, CD, Amp, Speakers are all mature technology.

The rule of thumb is that 10% of the system cost should be spent on cables.

Well chosen stereo gear works well in any room.

Buy a cheap CD Player, upgrade it with a good DAC.

Speakers and Amplifiers have’t really changed in Years so don’t fall for the marketing Guff! Dali speakers are really good and there are not many realy bad ones about. I would recommend buying 2nd hand though.

Get hold of a 2nd hand NAIM nait3 (£300 fleabay), get it serviced, and match with decent speakers and you have a pretty kick ass system, and the amp will be pretty much worth what you paid for it if you want to sell.

As for cabling, a decent interconnect should be had for less than £50 (New)

Speaker cable, don’t spend more than £10/metre.

    Hope this helps.

Put it down mate, you need to consider any suffering that the animal may suffer in future. Its sad, but going all out to save it will be oin your interest not the cats.

I thought Uplinks post was quite amusing. Just chill out will you.

Cor, theres some crap being spoken tonight!

Anyone who puts animals before people seems a bit close to sociopathy to me.

The white coat wearers don’t get paid much.

The bulk of cosmetics and components are not tested on animals (or may not have been for the last 20 years or so)

The Japanese are still into animal testing, and the wording and definitions are pretty slippery.

I have absolutely no problem with testing medicines on animals. People or animals. As long as as much case as possible is taken to ensure as pleaseant as possible life and death (considering the constraints imbues by why they are there in the first place). I have seen and know people in these facilities and they are not monsters, and they do whatever possible to treat the creatures with respect. Batery chickens and turkeys will be treated worse.

    Terrorists, no. Criminals, Definately.

I have broken the speed limit on a series of powerful motorcycles.

I saw some very high speeds in France.

    Alternator bearings, tensioners.

The L series is a pretty robust motor. check the ancillaries first.

    It may just be shagged.

    Sorry.

    Simple answer.

    Yes they can.

For full sized phones its all built in, smaller ones have a box o’ tricks.

You would probably be better off with a decent pair of closed headphones, they drown out an awful lot of noise. Audio Technica A700s are good.

Never will get the shash that is radiohead.

    Influential, maybe.

Good. No bloody way! I am not into whiny music. I have listened to several of the albums a few times and always regret it.

Manic street preachers are way overrated as well.

Ooooh, I made myself forget about Oasis.

I feel a bit dirty now

Big up to Elbow, Not a bad album yet, and seem to be a decent bunch of blokes, Guy Garveys 6 music show is good.

We like bands when they are young and full of energy, angst and white lightning 🙂 Once they get a bit older and have been successful, the youthful exuberance is gone, and that my internet friends is what Rock is all about 🙂

    In no particular order.

U2. War was a good album. Thats been about it.

    Radiohead, utter, utter shash!

    Arctic Monkeys, Kooks, Keane etc.

Perversely I quite like the first couple of Coldplay albums. Pulpy music has its place X&Y and the new one are crap though. Propbably more to do with the time rather than admiring the music.

I think Beck is getting better with age, but then the albums are all so different, thats the trick I reckon.

Queens of the Stone Age have been knocking out good albums for the last 10 years or so. Foo Fighters peaked at one by one.

Soundgarden quit at the right time.

Surprisingly, the latest Rush album is remarkably good…

Oh, and Bono is a ****. I’m sure Paul is a decent enough bloke.

I’ve just been out for a spin on me 9R.

I can categorically say that the midrange piddles all over the (old model) Fazer 1000, these only really kick off at about 6krpm.

    I love motorbikes me 🙂

I am currently selling my 9R (hopefully going at the weekend). When I get another bike I reckon I will get a Fazer thou, somehting a bit more sensible.

There was an interesting aticle in Bike magazine this month about how 2005 was the best year for bike engines, as they have been affected by emissions regs since then. The 2005 GSX-R1000 is ridiculous, so increadibly torquey 🙂
The quest for class leading peak power has caused an increase in peakiness.

The 2004-5 ZX10 is an utter animal, it just feels so harsh and raw (but in a good way). The blade was increadibly smooth and civilised (and probably faster, just didn’t feel it). Gixxer thou was somewhere inbetween. Haven’t ridden any R1’s newer than 2000 so can’t comment.

I have had a few V-twins in the past and agree that the SV1000, firestorm, Falco are cracking roadbikes. They usually need the suspension sorting though, once done they were a quicker road tool than the CBR600 (2002, its a while since I had mine :))

Ride as many as you can, and have fun 🙂 Have a pop on the 09 R1 the crossplane crank should make it feel a bit more “vee-fourish” I thing it will be the puppies danglies. There are no bad bikes anymore 🙂

There is very little weight penalty with the big bikes nowadays, they are spectacularly light.

If sportsbikes are your thing then my view is the 954cc on blades are hard to beat. As are Gixxer 750s. They are pretty cramped though.

I must admit that the performance of a 1000cc ish sportsbike is pretty much impossible to use apart from a short blip. But you know that already 🙂 Smaller bikes can be more fun on the road as you can thash them a bit more.

I would add though that you should have a go on a Fazer 1000, the older model is like a rocket powered armchair!

I have one of the last ZX-9Rs

Comfy, touquey as a train, and still goes a bit bonkers at 8krpm as well 🙂

The ZX9 and the original model mille are fondly remembered as the last big sportsbikes for pie eaters 🙂

I use a Fog city photochromatic pinlock in my shoei.

    It rocks.

Turns a nice light blue shade in bright sunlight.

The fog city inserts actially glue onto the visor, the standard Shoei pinlock has a rubber sealing bead.

    Yes, yes, yes.

Even a £50 overpayment can knock a significant amount of time from a mortgage.

Your savings are making bugger all at the minute and the best place for it is to reduce the interest on your mortgage.

If you turn does the noise get louder??

Whichever way it does, the outside wheel is to blame.
