Er, and now you can see him going faster on harder courses on a more suitable better bike. Doesn’t matter how good you are, having the right tool for the job is always better than not.

I think for peat its true for you and me its called a skills compensation, i still enjoyed my shed bike back in the day….. one way to settle it just because downhillers cant beat a peregrine falcon down a hill might be to stick him on his old bike and some middle aged armchair biker on a v10 see who wins

Yeah, the glory days of one bike that did everything equally badly. Think I prefer having 3 bikes that each do quite a lot of things brilliantly tbh!

yep seeing steve peat on his rigid kona hei hei going downhill faster than a lot of folks ever will…badly then going racing cross country and doing that badly on the same bike

talent comes from t bike obviously

Blimey that Chinarello is only £260. Can’t even get a decent second hand Allez for that! Hmmmm

True, was talking more about the overall genre of LT HTs.

bitd before genreisation took over and you had a bike and **** off everywhere on it and did everything on it
Yep, those halcyon days when you did a weekend of DH, XC and trials, all on the same bike! Bula hats for slalom markers, isn’t it? Wasn’t it?

Dunno chap I’m only 21 bit before my time

Trailstar was 96, IIRC, FTW was welding at Spooky from 95, and was behind the original Metalhead.

Sounds a bit like a draw!

yeah but frank was welding at yeti before that ,however i suppose this was bitd before genreisation took over and you had a bike and **** off everywhere on it and did everything on it

Now surely if you spend thousands of pounds on something that you would hope to get good use of would you not expect said companies to make parts for it for atleast 5 years or so.

Imagine buying a new car and then in three years being told by the manufacturer, sorry we no longer make the parts you need and the few we have you can’t have.

with cars and stuff I’m sure they have to make spares for a certain timeframe after with bikes not so sure though even if some enterprising company makes a pattern part or copy part to cater for that market a manufacturer can sue your arse

unless you make technical progress (improved product) to replace the OEM part

why don’t all the LBS bike shops club together and order the entire production run of wheels for the year
surely they would get a massive qty discount

I can imagine the reply being

    **** off you old get

anyone who’s been riding 20 years isn’t our target market disposable income or not, our target market isnt the old giffer who has been going in the local mom and pop bike shop he remembers lusting after a bike in when he was a lad ,after all there shouldn’t be many of those left due to internet cowboys and our big brand trying to compete with each other concept stores, you know the ones that only sell our brand

The young naive Ipad generation is our market now …they dont know what a wheel size is and flock into our brand stores like a tourist homing in on the apple store……cuz its cool innit

as you are neither young or naive and your possibly past it old bean i suggest the ping website and a subscription to golfers weekly be more suitable use of your time than writing emails to us

    regards

    Is that £260 before tax?

When you factor in leasing a car, insurance, servicing and tax, even £400 a month NET doesn’t leave a lot of change.

I bought a cheaper car with cash and now spend the monthly allowance on drugs and hookers, while my colleagues have nice shiny cars.

More killings are made by sober drivers.
Surely we should be properly nailing down the people who can’t drive when they’ve not had anything to drink first.

What a chuffing ridiculous idea…..you mean actually do something that isn’t easy, next youll be saying they only put cameras up to reduce road fatalities

Aluminium is filthy in terms of materials to glue the ano and etch is more for future reference

Any form of surface conversion is always a help but cleanliness is pretty much key
