Whats the GTC SL 26er like then bud? Liking it?

Its a good start though for a racing mountain bike 🙂 If i want to upgrade the wheels at a later daye then ye i agree, thats the first call. Dout ill upgrade anything else tho tbh as its all pretty good!

Well, im 5ft 7, so possibly between a small and medium depending on brand. I have a medium Trance but tbh, i think it maybe just slighty to big but its still fine.

Ye the Bokor is a bargain thats for sure but my mind is telling me to spend more cash and get a decent weapon lol… The way i think of it is like this… if i have a decent bike, what i love, then im gona want to ride it alot more than an ‘ok’ one. 🙂

Ye the bike i can get cheap is last years model and its alot better speced and lighter than this years.

I have noticed that alot of the pros and people winning alot of the races are now on 29’rs… Does it make that much difference? Thats another option instead of the usual 26′.

Well, its not my budget, i could save for a £1000 one or sell my giant which is in immaculate condition and buy an even better racing mtb… Only thing is, then im restricted to where i go with a good mtb.
A mate of mine has a Bokor in immaculate condition hardly used at all and wants £350 for it. so…. decissions decissons 😛

Well, i think i may go for this Voodoo Bokor tbh. Its a bargain considering the spec and everything.
There supposed to be light and they are also well speced for the price!

Ah ok bud, thanks for the reply, it was the Thetford winter series 2hr enduro event… I came 78th out of 150. Not to bad considering my 1st race and my bike 🙂
I have no hard tail as of yet.
The race was a normal enduro i think?

I havent checked the presure yet as i was told it was all set up to factory settings when i bought it yesterday. ?

Apparently the 140mm Fox forks are alot more expensive?

I would imagine the Sektors would be better as they have an optional 150mm travel if ever needed?

Ok, well ive just spent a fair bit on the bike atm so is it really worth me upgrading the forks straight away you reckon?

Is the Heckler much better as its nearly the same price… ?

From what i gather, the Reign weighs quite a bit more than the Trance.
The reign has more travel than the Pitch also and the geometry pushes it more into the DH catergory imo over the Pitch.
I could be wrong though being a total noob and being out of the DH seen for 6 years 🙁

Hmmm ive just realised that the Pitch has only 18 gears yet the Trance X2 has 27 gears…

That means the Trance would be a lot quicker on normal trails wouldnt it? I think id struggle to keep up with my mates now tbh ;/

I have a week to decide still so if anymore of you have ridden both or what you personally think is better and why, then please comment.

The Trance x2 is a 2010 model and the Pitch Pro would be a 2011 model.
The Pitch has got better front and rear shocks though so thats making me think that might be better for trails with my mates and also a bit of downhill rough stuff.

Only thing is, would i be able to keep up with my mates on a normal trail with the Pitch Pro? (and yes, one of my mates has got an Orange 5)

I wana make sure im making the right decision 🙂

Hmmm ive just been going over the forum and a couple of other forums and a lot of people reckon that the Giant Reign is also a great bike and possibly better than the Trance.
Its basically the same bike but with better susspension apparently ive read. ?

Ok, so if i went for the Giant, how much would it cost me extra to upgrade to the 140mm susspension then? 🙂 And whats it called if i went into the shop and asked them to upgrade it.
