people seem to accept changing a £20 chain, but moan about a £20 BB. Its all wear and tear, I find external BBs better than any other type Ive used.

Being the son of a coal miner, and growing up with coal-powered heating, I think I have grown to like having warmth on demand rather than having to order it up two hours in advance, and having hot water when you turn on the hot tap! It were grim up north!

use my touch in the car with a transmitter thingy, and in the bedroom with adocking-station thingy(got them for my birthday) really good. use the internet stuff for downloading podcasts etc. rather than email.
would never have bought myself a pod, but I quite love it now!

All this talk of 12 to 18 degrees- thats not heating, its stopping you from freezing to death(quickly) thats all!

    Good question MikeT!
About£70 a month for gas and ‘leccy.
This was reduced last year from £100 plus, when I was REALY in credit!
The meter reader has just been this week, so should be getting a balance type thing, so should probably say “hope im in credit”
Sulks off to turn heating down and snuggle up with dog…

Mines on all the time, set to 20degrees, just works off the digital thermostat thingy on the wall here. If its abit chilly just put it up to 21 or22 and that does the trick, the boiler very rarely seems to come on, I supose the house has warmed up. And Im in credit !

I have one on cx bike, replaced cheap and nasty original with it, and it has cured the front end of shudder under braking so it seams ok to me!

Always had bikes as a young’un and did a bit of junior road racing/tt, first time on mtb was in the lakes on holiday with a couple of mates when we hired them from a shop in Windermere, wasnt that impressed!
My brother got a Mudddy Fox (courier I think) in 1987, I borrowed it a few times, and deciced to join him.
An afternoon in Peter Darke’s in Sunderland resulted in the purchase of a Saracen Tufftax. The choice was between a couple of Saracens, a couple of Muddys or a Gary Fisher(seemed very exotic!)
And it all went on from there…

it was just something that was in the local paper-silly editor!
Not that I need to defend myself to you, you if dont like what is being discussed/argued about look at the bike stuff!

Wiping eyes still, agree with other posters if the little warrior can battle on, or is just a bit poorly, but if he’s come to the end….

(wipes tears from eyes) had a similar situation with my dog that I grew uo with- collie, we got him when I just started school and saw me through to work!
Like Fatty, Ben went blind(gradually), deaf(gradually) he always used to lie behind the front door and would jump up to greet you, or bark at strangers, as time wore on you had to push the door, and dog to get in!
He loved to go out, and would do errands o n his own, but as he got on life became harder and more tiring. His legs got heavier, and hips a bit stiffer, untill he could only make it round the block.
A quiet trip to the beach-his favourite, and a short walk through the park to the vets, with treats on the way, and we said goodbye after 15 years.
Im sure you would want to be kept going for someone else’s plesure/lack of guilt.
Sorry if it sounds a bit twee. Good luck

2Tall. you are right about “trying out” a dog, and think about the future…
When I got greyhound Jim, I was living with someone, then I was alone with the dog, another breed would have been difficult to keep, but thankfully g’hounds are low maintenance (unlike girlfriends)

I heard Alister Darling discounting it!
It leads to hyper-inflation (I think) thers no more money in the country, just more “shares” of that money
you end up like post war germany, zimbabwe or even worse Turkey!

turn your bars up, that stem looks short and the frame small so it probably FEELS long rather than actually being too long. Compared to mountainbike
    Enjoy

DEzB is right about greyhounds- fastest thing you’ll see on 4 legs, but cant go for long! Me and Jim the greyhound are out for an hour on a morning- he’ll normally have a good run for about two minutes in that time- then hit the sack for the rest of the day
Collie would be my choice for trail dog

hora- sorry have to say Im taking about the original F1 the plastic one.
I think any GOOD watch shop as opposed to high street jewelers who sell TAG will do the work in store, quicker and cheaper too.
I use Berrys I know they have a few shops in the North but dont know if they are nationwide, if you buy a watch from them they do free battery replacement for life, px etc.

Had a collie as a kid, agree with RobS says about the lead thing! Ours used to go for the morning paper by himself-didnt read it tho!
But he would only ever run backwards about 6″ off the front wheel of my chopper
Got a greyhound now-stupid but fast
A lurcher could be good- more staying power than greyhound, or beagle?
