Looking forward to a review of the Drakes Dancake, hope they cut the mustard – could well be tempted by some myself.

Any LBS which stocks Trek/Bontrager normally has stock of Bontrager 29er tubes.

Please update with how it goes – I've got a leaking Mini lever and a service kit waiting to become one when I get chance.

I paid £159.99 from Wiggle, they had a 20% off wheels offer a few months ago so I ordered them as it said they expected stock in a few days. The stock didn't arrive and on the end I waited about 8 weeks!

I've just had a set of the Fulcrums delivered and first impressions are good, they are very stiff and roll really well, plus the freehub is very quiet.

I fitted some last night to my slot drop 29er with no issues

I really liked mine, couldn't fault it for the money. It was a great intro the the 29er thing – I've now built up an Inbred and loving that too. Mine is a 20'' model and is looking for a new home if you're interested in a lightly used example?

One of my team mates lives near the course and went watch a bit of the running over the weekend. He reckons the course looked pretty dry and in not bad nick considering the rain we have had recently.

N Gear Jump stop works fine for me.

Depends which forecast is most accurate, Metcheck say its going to be dry but the Met office predict heavy rain on Friday and showers over the weekend. I guess that makes packing simple – take everything!

Spud, I've had nothing through since confirmation either. Mind you it was exactly the same last year, I had to email Pro Velo to get the info pack a few days before the event.
I'm taking a rigid 29er 1×9 to run in dry/ish conditions but will convert to SS if it turns to slime, also a full suss 26er in case my old bones need a rest.

Thanks for the collective input. the white ones look good, had assumed I'd go for black, but maybe now….
coastkid, do you ever run the ProII rear SS? If so, do wide based SS cogs keep the free hub in good nick?

I'm the same height as you and love the feel of my 21'' inbred. I run it with an inline seatpost and a 90mm stem and it feels spot on to me – roomy but not stretched.

Gorgeous! Ours is now 2 years old and is starting to behave herself. I hope you have a sense of humour when it comes to chewed up flooring… you might need it.
As bigsi said they tend to go crazy over fairly short distances and get tired, but after a short break Millie will then behave more like a trail hound and run along at a steady pace – her forte is short blasts of single track though.

    Higgo,
I live in Leek and would appreciate a copy of the PDF showing how to link The Roaches area with Macc forest. YGM

Mine are the same, never flexed enough to cause a rub.

No, its the other side of the Buxton – Congleton road to Three Shires. It drops down to Wildboarclough taking you back towards Macc forest. Cracking bit of trail.

I got mine from ALPKIT last summer. I've seen several similar looking designs about – not sure if they use same internals.

Pretty good imo, capable of lighting the living area of a family tent or gazebo and battery life is good also. Great gadget for the money.

Mr Smith/Biscuit Powered, How do you find the 130/140mm Revs compare to the stock F0x 120 fork? Do they make a big difference?

I'm 6'2'' and mines a large with a 100mm zero rise stem and a layback post to give a little more stretch. Love it.

gontothehills, that looks very similar to when i was last up there two weeks ago. It must not get any sun all this time of year. Perhaps todays rain might have helped shift some of it.

2pm start will be fine if you need to be back before 3pm. Its well signed and is not very testing – lots of twisty single track. I think its about 7 miles or so.

    Aren't those MT15 wheels teeny?

[/quote]I'm looking at an X3. I'm 6' but I've got a 29" inside leg, would an medium 18" be best?

I guess that means you've got a long body/reach and Giant's aren't that long in the top tube so I think you might be best on a Large (20''). But of course try both and see which feels right.

Not me, but I've read lots of good things and I'm thinking of giving them a try. The new top of the line carbon Trance X comes with a 140mm fork and it got a very good review in the mag.

Get one ridden, you'll love it.

My inbred, if you can call that a good 29er, handles better than the Mojito. The inbred feels fun with quick steering and zingy steel ride, the mojito felt a little more neutral and in no way handled badly. Plus, with it being an Al frame it puts the power down well and felt fast.
I can vouch for its baby carrying capability, my daughter enjoyed many miles in her Hamax seat aboard the DB.

My experience is very similar to Lurchenstien's. I bought a £199 Mojito to try the 29er thing, I really liked it and bought a 21'' inbred just before xmas.
I only ran the Mojito for 4 months as a winter SS and also a 1×9 and had no problems at all, the wheels seem ok and are still running well on my inbred although some more bling ones are on my wish list.
It handled well and felt like a proper bike rather than a £200er. The extra stretch in the TT of the inbred suits me and allows me to run a shorter stem but the mojito didn't feel cramped with a 110mm stem (I'm 6'3'' with 35'' inside leg).
    Have you seen this?

I don't think so. The Nevegals it comes with are pretty close to the stays.
