Clowner. If you’ve got the OS maps enabled just set the unit to read in automotive mode. It will look just like a car sat nav, with all roads/streets and POI’s etc.

No data on mtb gruppos but road 105 (5700) comes in 169g heavier than Ultegra (6700).
Both identical spec. and excluding hubs.

Noggin the Nog (rather dark) and Supercar.
Nobody I know seems to recall Supercar so perhaps a figment of my imagination!

Elite Crono Fluid at Wiggle – old model but a good fluid turbo at a good price (plus another £15 off at the mo)

I have an Elite Crono Fluid. Very quiet, super smooth, and the Crono system uses the riders weight to load the roller so gives a slightly more natural feel than traditional spring tension systems. Great value at Wiggle, but the newer SuperCrono Power Fliud model has nearly twice the resistance – which might be useful if your using mtb gears – mines fine on a road bike but you need to use the higher gears for efforts when interval training.

Had one for about 6 months. I’m afraid I run mine with both screen protector and silicon casing – what a wimp!
Can’t say I noticed much difference in screen clarity with the protector fitted. In fact I now run it with the backlight on level 1 and just use reflected light to view, which seems fine.

I’ll be there as well, along with No.1 son – he fast me slow!
Hope you enjoy your first race. Shaping up to be the usual mud-fest.
My goal tomorrow is not to be lapped by Josh!
Will be in Heanor kit on an orange Giant.
    Good luck.

Hi, These are great xc brakes, albeit only a few grams lighter than the standard ones, mine are 09 vintage and still performing faultlessly. However, price seems a bit steep as been superseded for a few years now! £120 tops would seem reasonable if in mint condition (rotor wear especially).

    Hi monksie.
I’m 9 to 9.5 uk and wear size 44 Sidi shoes if that’s of any help.
    Sidi stockists for Manch. here;

    Cheers.
Edit; Need to fill in area & cycling in link.

Just run 23c slicks all year round, some cheap, some expensive. Never really found much performance difference in any. Contact area is so small then tread, compound etc. makes so little difference to conditions anyway.
As stated previously line is much more more relevant.

At 8.5 stone running 100 psi will feel like running solid wooden tyres!
Unless you’re racing try around 70 to 80 psi and have a comfy ride.
Usual macho crap in abundance advice so far. :-
Edit: If your running 60 psi with no ill effects don’t worry.

Well done, hope it works. But won’t a 300mm deep hole soon fill up with trail mud and stop being a soakaway!

Only for peeps that insist on wearing baggies, camelbacks and peeks as they are clearly uncomfortable with their surroundings and should be positively identified as potential hazards!

Teeto – Kenda Kwickers. Not too bad in the mud.

Use Tektro Oryx here – racing only though.
Cheap, work well, low profile, cartridge pads etc.

Tubus Airy here on a Spa Audax.
Similar to the Tubus Fly and would agree with Hooter’s comments above.

What are the Notts/Derby races like?

Probably one of the best cx leagues in the country.
Mahoosive turnout with senior fields sometimes in excess of 200 starters, over 40 youth, 40 ish under 12’s and over 60 under 9’s.
Fast and furious racing, good courses and well organised.
Also lots of fun for all abilities. Info here http://ndcxl.org.uk/
    Come and have a go.

    Or perhaps even a Tubus Airy;

All down to personal taste but my cx top tube and stem are both 10mm shorter than my road bike, and bars higher relative to seat. I find this gives a bit more control over the rough stuff.

Not quite sure I get the drift of this.
These spacers, supplied with new mechs, are only used during initial installation to assist in aligning the mech over the big ring before you attach the cable.

Derekrides – Ha Ha! Pink thing is a red SKS shockblade mudguard. Red mudguards catch more crud than black ones!
Bar ends, flat bars, arse in the air, xc hardtail -‘ old skool’ set up for an even older rider. 🙁

Strange it was built up without barrel adjusters? Would imagine something like these will fix your problem.
    http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/jagwire-cable-adjusters-for-fixing-to-plain-frame-headtube-boss-prod24780/
If you have new 105 (5700) then the only solution is to fit on the downtube cable stops. If 5600 then you have the option to fit where the cables exit the sti’s.
Having said all that, I’ve just built up a cross bike for No1 son with 105 (5700) without a barrel adjuster on the front mech ( due to top tube cable routing) and have managed to trim the mech – albeit a PITA!

Yep. They’ll be fine. I’ve used normal tyres and tubes for years on mine. Just need to pump them up to about 60+ psi initially to seat on the rim – and wait for pop as they seat – then run at normal pressure.

Sounds like a pretty good deal to me. Top marks to the seller. Hope you enjoy your (brand) new frame. 🙂

    This is a weird thread!
Buyer recieves frame, notices crack, seller offers refund, buyer ends up with new warranty replacement frame from seller, but still worried so puts it in the classifieds. Very odd. I must be missing something.
