Can't really understand the fear that carbon components generate for mtb or cross use.
I'm sure a road bike hitting pot-holes and gratings etc. on tarmac at 25+ mph on skinny tyres puts much more stress on components.
I've had the 'speedy fit' tool free attachment model for about 5 years, used weekly, with no problems. This is essentially the same rack with a simpler attachment system – ie. need a spanner to clamp it to the towbar.
Thanks domino. I have a TCX frameset and my son has a TCX 1 and niether have eyelets. We race ours only so don't need them, but it's interesting to know Giant produce the same frame with eyelets – makes it much more versatile.
Hope you enjoy your new bike.
Cheers.
jimmy – Yes it is the welded Ti frame, bought as frameset and lovingly built into a lightweight xc racer.
You are also right about it being too good to be bolted to a turbo, but I don't think I'll ever want to get rid of it, and at least it is sort of getting used!
We run our own scheme, and is fairly simple to set up and administrate.
If you have an e-mail address I would be happy to send relevent documentation to help get you started.
They are the best thing since sliced bread. If you shop around you can usually pick one up for about £50, they seem to be a generic item that appear under different brand names at various retailers.
Congratulations. After all that effort you need a fine glass of wine, and what better way to open that classic Merlot than the Campagnolo Big Corkscrew
Another vote here for the Flite.
Classic, minimalist design offered comfort and strength far in excess than it's looks would suggest. Often copied but never bettered.
Used them on all my bikes since 91 although recently defected to the Specialized camp (Phenom SL).
Hi Josh,
I'm just over 5'11" and ride an 18" s-works hard tail. Personnaly I would always go for the smaller frame if undecided between two sizes, and Specialized frames do have fairly long top tubes.
I think we live local so if any help you're welcome to take mine for a spin round the park. Will be at Thornbridge race next Saturday or could e-mail if interested.
Cheers
Ian
A bit of extra lining over the cleat should help as it acts as a massive heat sink that sucks all the heat from under the ball of your feet.
This year I've been using the one shot chemical hand/foot warmers placed on top of my tootsies and my feet have been toastie cosy. Only cost about £1.50 a pair and last a good 8 hrs.
SRAM Notts/Derby League Round 10 at Alvaston Park on Saturday for me.
Hope it's frozen and not another mudfest!
All finishers get a xmas pudding donated by sponsers Matthew Walker – yummie!
Good luck to all racing.
