“My only concern is that as the rear seats don’t fold completely flat the boot space may be compromised for carrying a bike inside but I guess I’ll find a way of making it work.”

Don’t think you’ll have too much trouble getting a bike in. Plus rear legroom is obscene, even with tall bods in the front!

We insured our 17 year old lad on a learner policy with Collingwood for £500 which has to be cancelled when test passed (balance refunded pro rata). Then went with Tesco Black Box for £1200.
Policies sourced through comparison sites, both in son’s name, fully comp, 6000m/year, parent as named driver etc on a Fabia 1.9 diesel.

This thread has also prompted me to probably sell my virtually unused and as new late 2012 Ocean Kayak Malibu Two XL which just hangs up in the garage.

I too should start a For Sale post.

The Halfords Exodus range might be worth a look – half price at the moment plus another 10% off with roof bars. If BC member another 10% also.

No frills design but quality seems ok – more than likely old style Thule boxes rebadged.

I have a 200 and 800 and both will navigate and charge at the same time from an external battery pack, although never actually needed to on a ride.
The battery pack I have is a Veho Pebble and works straight out of the box with the standard cables provided.

Today I went on a road ride with a mountain biker, complete with backpack, baggies and flatties on a road bike.
I did however learn a new skill – You can actually ride that slow and not fall off! 😉

Hi, 5′ 11″ here with a medium Giant TCX, 555mm top tube, 100mm stem. Wouldn’t want to go any bigger. Used for racing only if that’s relevant. My road bikes are all 10 to 15mm longer in top tube.

Excellent advice from seahouse – all in accordance with generally accepted building contracts. Only minor point I would add is try for a 12 month defects period as this will encompass a full heating season – useful to test the heating plus drying out shrinkage cracks tend to manifest themselves during this time.

Would agree with The Beard above. Very noisy without the rubber infil strip in the t-track. New wing slight improvement over aero and both a good deal quieter than the square one’s. Wind noise not too intrusive from carrying bikes, windsurfs, kayaks or roof box (not all at the same time!), but miss off/lose the rubber infil and the noise is unbearable.

Oh, and first rule of wine club – no white’s unless they’ve got bubbles

So, discounting half the decent wines out there in one fail swoop!

I’m not a total wine pleb

The jury may be out on this one.

    Usually a few good deals to be found here;

With size 12 feet I’d be looking at a wide board.

Good news, great result, I’m sure that’s a relief. Glad to hear as we have 2 VW’s and 1 Skoda in our household all with FSH.

Usually can upgrade 3 months before contract ends on a 2 year contract. However, contract date always remains at date taken out. So if you upgrade early new contract period would be 2years 3 months.

Another vote for Ritchey Classics, although might be slightly over budget

    Also do matching seatpost

Another Sevylor Hudson here, quite a flotilla of these appearing! Bought ours on a whim last year when seriously reduced at Decathlon, and not regretted purchase at all. Surprisingly capable and great fun in the surf, plus it hurts less than than our rigid Malibu when the surf dumps you out! Used a lot last year on light wind days when drifting around on the windsurfs lost its appeal.

Up’s, Mii’s, and Citigo’s all OK to me, probably the most refined city car out there, just go for the one you prefer the look of. No. 1 daughter has an 04 Arosa 1.0 S and that’s a great little drive. Personally would go with a top spec Citigo and 75 ps motor if not too concerned with residuals. Somewhat biased as recently ‘downgraded’ from Audi’s to Skoda Superb Estate and so far not regretting this at all.

A Veho Pebble would have enough capacity for quite a few recharges.

The Go Pro is a great piece of kit but if unsure you will get value for money from it you could consider the Veho Muvi HD. Very nearly as good quality, lots of mounting accessories, waterproof case etc and quite a bit cheaper.

Would agree with dims – width 14.5mm approx. pitch 3mm approx. Strap width 18.5mm approx. (where attached to shoe.
Problem occurs with buckle and strap type as all similar dims but differ in profile and not interchangeable.Although could buy a strap and buckle I suppose.
    Dominator 5

    Road Five Carbon Comp

    Road Genius 5 Pro

Attachment to shoe (all same profile)

Another vote here for Veho Muvi HD. Veho have an e-bay shop with regular sales so should be possible to pick one up for just over £100 if you time it right.

Great news! Hope all goes well.
Back in 97 broke my ankle in 3 places while biking. General consensus was to fuse as considered too badly damaged to repair, but saved at eleventh hour by young whizz kid surgeon who agreed to have a go. Lots of metalwork, physio etc and 15 years on still works a treat. Lost about 10 deg. forward flex and aches a bit but very grateful that young surgeon was on duty at the right time.

No.1 son has had a few Trespass jackets and salopettes in his time – all been good quality, breathable and waterproof. His current jacket, adult size, purchased last year from Costco is excellent quality for the modest £30 cost.
