yeah i wouldn’t recommend a defy to anyone
in practice its my perfect phone but there seem to be too many niggles with it,
mine suffers from freezing where u have to lock and then unlock the phone for it to become responsive again, apparently a common problem on this model

personally wouldn’t have the giant because of the pressfit bottom bracket,
I like giants but i can’t see how pressfit on a bb is a good idea

and i’ve just looked at the specs on the spesh and they go with a “1 1/8″ to 1 3/8″ headtube”, why????

    so I wouldn’t have either 🙂
I likes things standard I does

If you’re looking for audax type of bike I’ve been hankering for one of these

do people really notice a real world difference in stiffness in a crank,
    i struggle to feel anything,

the new un55 comes with a ali non side cup

octalink and isis were good in idea but in practice not the best,
bearing were far too small to accomodate the large axle,
remember seeing someting on superstar components where they managed to fit large bearings into a isis bb and therefore potentially solving the above problems. but i wouldn’t trust a superstar bb to be honest

    taken from their website

    Warranties

All brand new goods are covered by a one year warranty, covering parts and labour. Some manufacturers include extended or on-site warranties which are in addition to our standard Morgan warranty.

In the event that a product still has remaining manufacturers warranty you may be asked to contact the manufacturer directly to resolve your problem.

In the case of secondhand, ex-demonstration and refurbished equipment, warranty periods may vary but in all cases these are clearly stated.

We are not responsible for any consequential loss or expenses, however caused, including incidental returns costs.

All goods remain the property of Bentham Limited until paid for in full.

A full copy of our terms and conditions is printed on the reverse of our invoice and is available upon request.

they say it comes with one year warranty

i had a problem with a laptop and had to deal directly with the manufacturer to get the repair done, they collected and returned free of charge.

… Do you have any info about what’s going on from the locals?

er haven’t heard anything, to be honest I’ve never even been down there,
bit embarrassing since I’ve been working there on and off for the last five years.

building some nice stone walls though 🙂

I thought warhorse was terrible, so ridiculous not in a good way either,
“come on joey, you can do it”
but everyone else seems to love it.

    i really liked The artist,
also saw the Desendants last night, which i thought was good, really beautiful film

or maybe haywire? but i think there is a bit too much hand to hand fighting for your mum 🙂

assuming that everything is still functioning, ie shifters
    then why not,

I heard from a supplier that shimano are gonna stop producing 7 speed cassettes, dunno if that is true or not but there is plenty of stock and other makes anyway

7 speed is much more durable than 9 sp aswell, wider chains.
i kept with 7 sp on a road build for my girlfriend there nothing wrong with it, except me choosing the wrong ratio cassette, doh!

erm, now I’m more confused. I’ll go for a non-disc super tourist dx then?

i’m afraid that on here something will always work for someone where it hasn’t for someone else.

are you buying online? if not then why not take your bike to the shop to see fitting?

sorry to contradict TJ above but an ordinary one doesnt always work with every brake/caliper setup,
as i found that a non disc one fouled my calipers,

the topeak disc one also works with v-brakes as thats what i’m running on mine at the mo.

i’m using 10 speed road mechs on a 8spd road drivetrain all works fine,
i’m really good at keeping a good chainline though which probably helps

    9 speed will be fine

left 3 as soon as i could,
but it was all down to the signal in general,
    really erratic!
but i know loads of other people who used them for years.

best advice is to get a free 3 sim and see what the signal is like in ur house etc

I usually go with looking at forum history,
if someone is new/ish or only frequents the For sale forum I tend to give it a miss,
even if it’s a super deal,

I like collecting as u can see goods and nice to meet forum guys,

    asus £499 from comet

    i bought one of these
this seemed to have the best spec vs price,
    newer i5 processor
and asus are supposed to have a good rep for reliability aswell

if you aren’t applicable then the order will get cancelled surely,
so I’d say it’s on them to cross check i suppose

i had the same thought the other week about this as I ordered a subscription to empire magazine, half price offer to cineworld unlimited card users, at no point did it ask for membership identification
but i am a unlimited card holder so wasn’t doing anything naughty like you are 🙂

    really wouldn’t bother,
we don’t even give the option for customers if they need replacement inners.
    stick with stainless

afraid it sounds like the cassette is too worn to accept a new chain,
i’d put the old chain back on and run it all into the ground,

    or its new drivetrain time,

    unless it’s a steel frame
the mech hanger will need to be replaced,
you can try bending a replaceable/ally hanger but more likely it will snap if its a big bend,
you’ll need a proper straightening tool

yeah it seems to ride nice,
not as harsh as my old frame,
its a racy geometry with a very short headtube,
    but it feels comfortable.

i was really lucky and i managed to snap up a 54cm frame on ebay.
    the matt looks nice

did the same and built this up last week, still getting it dialled in,
    hence the long fork steerer/spacers.
for £80 posted the frame is a bargain, very impressed

Is it an issue with 10 speed ………..

yes the major issue is wear 🙂

no in all seriousness compared to 9sp the chains are so much thinner,
and compared to 8sp they are anorexic.
