not sure a bull horn bar will bring you any more upright.
the ones I have sling you further forward than my usual on the hoods drop bar position. this was on a fixed wheel so dunno how sti’s would work/feel.

As an easier and cheaper option I’d probably swap for a shorter stem with more rise. That’ll bring you back and up at the same time.

just found this, cable routing looks messy

I echo the “get to a doctor”

I had what I initially thought was just a cold with a fever last year, and was doing the same as you taking paracetamol/ibuprofen to bring my fever down , but after 4-5 days of being weirded out and it not getting any better I got an emergency appointment with the doc and was put on antibiotics straight away.

    anyway get yourself checked out!

haven’t got one but “up to 23mm tyres” is a bit tight from ribble for a winter bike.
as an another cheap alternative look at the dolan prefissio’s bit.

if you’re able to wait I can have a look at work in our broken mechs box,
no promises and I’m not in until Tuesday, so not entirely helpful if you’re in a rush for it

It’s possible that the key code sticker may be stuck to the radio casing which you’ll be able to see once it’s removed
Thus defeating the point of the key code in the first place. Do people actually do this??

yup I needed the code for my stereo and couldn’t find any documentation, i thought i would need to get a new stereo,
but popped it out lo and behold the security code was written on a sticker for me. 🙂

do people still steal car stereos??

Yeah I was shocked when I saw the avoid in the title,
Used then in the past and never had any problems, and always been happy with the price

    Cheers PP
I’ve just realized I’ve followed a thread with your bike in the past
mine has seemed to stop happening with a change of drivetrain
But I am always a bit nervous 🙂

I know a bit off topic but how did you sort your chain suck out?

Got the right tools (sockets)for the forks?
And bits for the brake bleed olives etc

The major time issues is finding out you haven’t got the correct part out or that the band size is incorrect etc etc,
But if everything is present and correct then what people saying above 3-4 hours sounds about right

I’d go with rigid forks and if you want a bit more comfort get some larger volume tyres.

I’ve got one from the first batch from Google play store and the screen was lifting, I’ve just popped the back cover off and tightened the screws and everything is now good,

there was also a creak but this seems to be resolved aswell.

otherwise its a great tablet and jellybean OS is really nice to use.
    I would definitely recommend it

…. The other option was a mate to be the agent.

how much would it cost to use a agent?
If it was a trustworthy friend then I would much prefer to give the money to a mate to look after.
All agents I’ve dealt with as a tenant and also as a landlord have been rubbish. It’s not their property so they move prefer slowly if something goes wrong.

    here’s mine,

    it’s a bit Frankenstein,
but it works and is pretty much what I want from a touring bike.
adapting it was a bit of a head scratch as it can only handle 22/32/44 chainset. this is one area where shimano doesn’t have a suitable off the peg front mech to use road sti’s with mountain bike crankset, but somehow I’ve wangled it (far too long and boring a story to go into)

the other issue is going to be mudguards, the mk1 inbred and forkisn’t designed to have full mount mudguards so I’m gonna have to fashion up some mounts out of p-clips and some old reflector brackets, which should work.
it’s not going to be pretty but I’ve managed to build it up using all my spares I had, only thing I’ve bought are the brakes.

i’ve got a panasonic lumix TS1, had it for 2 years, can’t fault it,
in the first year I carried it everyday (did the photo a day for a year challenge) it didnt have an easy life as I was labouring and doing general building tasks.

its not only tough but the picture quality is excellent,

The placebo effect is great, it’s shown in drug trials that placebos can have a greater affect than the drug being trialled.

I think the danger is that old kit on new frame, you can quickly forget how the old bike rode.
I definitely call on stw to do blind bike test of same frame built in ally and steel.
Come on stw i think that’s a feature we’d all like to see.
    Every one starts shouting
    “blind bike test”
    “Blind bike test”
    Hehe 🙂

I think the biggest difference you’ll feel is in tyres,
Not to say steel doesn’t have x and y but I find it difficult to feel any real difference.

The steel frames I’ve had are heavier than my ally ones so maybe they don’t chuck me about so much.
To compare you’d have to have both frames built up exactly the same, and do a blind test. 🙂 hehe
I doubt most of us would be able to tell.

Schwalbe duranos 25mm they size up fairly big so more like a 28 I’d say,
Super long lasting and the plus version are very well puncture protected if commuting

Anything with more volume will b significantly better,
U might even go quicker than on 18mm’s due to the better rolling they give

I’ll stress the point about punching any protruding nails down,
have wrecked the bar on a flour sander,
not a big problem except having to take it back to the hire place to get a replacement.
also agree with getting the edging sander much quicker than using any home sanders that’ll you have,

you can successfully seal a room to stop the dust going elsewhere, did one job in a house where i sealed the door with plastic bin bags but it’ll be harder in the hallway,
dust well go everywhere unfortunately just close off every room to minimise things

if anyone wants to be able to use usb pendrives,
here’s a great guide on rooting the nexus

i did it and it was simple (honestly was easy, just watch the video aa few times and get everything set)
install “stickmount” after and you get OTG usb access,

you could cut a strip of toothpaste tube to put behind the slash as this would stop the innertube coming through.
or a bit milk carton that would do the same thing,

    what spacers are you using???

0.25mm shims would surely be thin enough that you could sort any tolerance out.

but it sounds like your hub is not right

Why are you lot talking about games? I’m talking about a film here.

I can’t tell if that’s sarcasm or not,
but you did know that the film is based on the board game,
hence the “fire missile at E6”

there was so much wrong with the film but it knew what it was a dumb film and it was fun

ps i think i can see rhianna on G6

have you tried a wanted ad??

i bought one second hand for £40,
it came with a massive fan, which really helps move the air around otherwise it gets very hot.

    they are horrible to ride,
feels like the brakes are constantly on,
    so much drag!

hired one in south of france, was nackered after doing only 15 miles. (was 30° + tho)

    chains are generally very efficient

I’ve got the exact snugpak sleeping bag,
i would say it was max a 2 season bag
i used it to tour denmark/sweden/norway in late summer early autumn and found it slightly uncomfortable

sorry I’ve just seen that some websites list it as a 2 season and some 2/3 season bag, so there we go 🙂

but didn’t find the quality that great on mine the stitching came undone(had to sew it back up) and also the compression sack it came with was terrible, the buckles broke on the first go,
fair play to snugpak though i contacted them and them sent me another stuffsack free of charge, but twas expecting a bit better,
    i suppose for £40 it’s about right.

    but would i recommend it,
probably not, I wish i had spent a bit more and got something else.

sorry I can’t recommend an alternative though 🙂

    this combo works,
hit at the base of the crank arm coming in from the other side, ie looking from the non drive side knocking it off the axle

what sort of lock did you have??
