I guess the only good news is that it was your choice and you’re in control.
What’s causing the issues for the big online retailers? Who’s causing the issues and making the profit?

Not sure how fast stock is shifting and if you have capacity, but might be worth creating a google docs spreadsheet with what you have for us lot further afield.

Nope, the chainslap makes an absolutle mess on my bikes when I forget to turn on the clutch.
It peppered my Solaris CS with chips on one run at 417.

NW makes a huge difference for general trail ridding though.

Yeah, just spotted this! Awful news.
Mark’s been a thoroughly good guy. He’s sold me a few bikes over the years at fantastic prices, but even more useful has been his advice to me and to the forum! He’s contributed back into the community far more than most people in the trade. No doubt the local community in Droitwich will feel the ripples too. There was always someone there looking for advice when I was visiting, from the mundane to the very niche. Sad news when another great LBS shuts down. I wish Mark and the rest of the guys all the best! Cheers Mark.

PS: Hope you stick around riding bikes without engines too.

What width x length of 3M tape do you need for a full FS bike?
    Assuming 10cm x 200cm ?

Good choice! My mate has the ’17 Al version and she loves it.
I’ve had a go too and really enjoyed it.

Harris has been posting some behind the scenes banter which he didn’t do with the old TG lineup, so I think there’s better cohesion between the three already.
Love Harris in his ‘Chris Harris on Cars/Drives’ from the early days. I hope they tone his pieces down a bit so he can be himself. We’ll deserved platform for him though.
    I’m looking forward to it.

What Novatec hubs are Hunt based on?
They have so mnay different hubs and codes.
I’ve always fancied building up a set of wheels and this could be perfect with the Kinlin rims.

Any experience with Purgs 29×2.6 ? I seem to remember that Spec tyres measure up small.
At just shy of 1kg, it would be nice if they are actually wide. Guess the purg is a reaosnable rolling rear.

    Rotors are 203mm trickstuff ones.

Just had a look. Seems a shame they haven’t overengineered these either and made them floating or something similar. Not bling enough to match the brakes :D

    Wow, stunning looking brake!
    So overengineered it’s like art.

What rotors are you running with them?
The lever throw adjuster seems a little delicate though. I guess you wind it in and adjust once fitted.

Awful awful service here too :D
Less than 24hrs since placing my order and it’s arrived.
Stocked up on 5p socks and other bits to finish the Stooge build.
Even Yodel gave me correct and acurate timeline.
Thanks for the PSA OP- not ordered from P-x in ages.
We can’t be having this :P

    Used Offsetbushings.com recently.
Just give them your model & year and they’ll find the right size.
Hardware size dictates how slack you can go.
Fast postage and nice quality too.

It’s new headset time and Superstar have a 2 degree angle set that will fit.

Are you sure it’ll fit 1 1/8th heatutbe? Seems pretty slack. Usually they are for tapered or 1.5 heattubes. I could be wrong, but worth checking again.

how is that a hint at good accounts? they’ve hopped because they’ve burned a bridge. a new payment processor just helps them cream more money off of their victims before they make their getaway.

    it hints at instability.

Have you ever tried to apply for a payment gateway account?
When we did it they took everything into consideration and was a pretty drawn out process. They don’t just hand them out.
Easy to apply, but difficult to pass.

Not arguing that it doesn’t look bad. I agree.

I thought they had moved away from PayPal a few months back.

Yup, they’ve moved to G Pay
I’m suprised any payment gateway provider has accepted them baesd on what the internet says.
Hint’s at accounts not being as bad the the internet makes you belive.

    Same boat as you.
I just fancy a Steel Rigid 29er (probably SS) to do more XC stuff and zero maintenance workhorse.

    Stooge Mk4 – I have a mk3 so maybe not different enough.

I’ve had a Mk1 & 2 and loved them. The Mk4 looks like a completly different beast to the Mk3.
It’s got very different geometry and crazy offset forks. Andy is also aiming to cut some weight out.
I think it’ll feel more different to your Mk3 than a Swift would.
    I’ve got a Mk4 on order. Can’t wait!

Currently helping a mate with the same issue- YT Capra 2017.
Really loud cracking noises under pedalling. I can bounce up and down and it doesnt make a noise, but one pedal stroke, however gentle, there’s a loud CRACK.

    I’ve tried;
    – New BB
    – Crank
    – Pedal
    – Rear mech & hanger
    – Jockey wheel (bearings needed changing anyway)
    – New chain
    – Pivot torque
    – Brake mount
    – Headset
    – New Bushings & shock hardware
    – Post, saddle & clamp

All stripped, cleaned and torqued correctly.
    It’s still there!

    I’m going to try the wheel next;
    – Different cassette
    – Disassemble and reassemble freehub
    – Strip it all and rergease.
    – Different rear wheel

It’s not my bike but it’s driving me mad. How she can ride it anywhere is beyond me.
I suggested she burns it if we can’t fix it.

Saw a Deathwish at FOD yesterday.
It didn’t look as radical in person as I thought it would. Lovely spec with Ohlins and Hope stuff.
Looked nice (and straight ;) )! Had been well used by the lady owner it seemed. Paint looked sound too.

Specialized Epic was amazing when i rode it.
I’d describe that as an XC HT with a little bit of travel.
Was extremly efficient accross an XC loop I did and just took the sting off.
I certainly felt more refreshed compared to the XC HT I had at the same time.
I really rae them. If I had the space I’d have one too.

She is indeed vile. My wife and I learnt this when she was Home Secretary and changed the laws on spounse visas three months before our wedding. The new rules were genuinely spiteful, and showed a complete lack of understanding of the old rules. She was the first female winner of “Munrobiker’s Most Evil Man in Britain” contest in 2012. While I’d like to say she can get to ***, the replacement is likely to be Boris, who won the same contest way back in 2011.

Hang on.. they won just the one year?

No hole in the crown on my forks – ask Andy if that has changed

That’s still the case, but I could use a pipe clamp to wrap around the steerer in the middle of the biplane part and then fit the mount to this. Maybe it’s too much effort to make work though. I’ll have a think.

    Thanks to all above

    This maybe helpful, or not..

Images of the 2018 bikes hit the net around mid June according to the 2018 thread here on the forums but it does change year to year. The 2019s shouldn’t be far off.

Update- I ended up buying a Jazz EX ’16.
I’ve done about 1,000 miles in it and I love it!
With the seats down it’s a proper little van. BMX goes in with both wheels on and loadse of room to spare and the big 29er 150mm FS goes in with the front wheel off straight standing up. My B road commute gets me 60mpg average despite lots of junctions and stop start over 40mile daily commute. It’s a very comfy place to be and the interior is functional. No fancy materials and feels like it’s built to last. My insurance was half that of the Fiesta ST and the tax is only £30, so substantial savings already. Acceleration is adequate and 101hp is plenty for our busy roads. I’ve found that my commute is much more relaxing now and despite driving slower, I still seem to arive at the same time.

Only criticism is that 6th is geared very low, so at 70mph you’re doing 3,200rpm. This means you can hear the engine on the motorway and there’s a bit of windnoise too. We have a big car for long journeys though, so this is the perfect local run around.

The car seems to fly under the radar and people always let me out at junctions and are generally kind to me. Refreshing being in an invisible car that should be penuts to run and be reliable.

Currently putting plans together for mini camper conversion kit to take a single airbed. With the passenger seat down I get about 2.3 metres length and there’s plenty of with for a single person and the MTB with both wheels off.
