I didn’t bother. I’ve done 7 months of riding, mostly in mud, without bother and adjusting it is easy.

Not very tight for the bolts – 4nm, which without a torque wrench, is not much more than hand tight. Don’t crank it, all that will happen is that the BB shell will flex.

It took me 1 1/2 hours of being on the phone to my who was only buying a TRAIN TICKETS. A day travel card from Reading to London. Unbelievable how difficult it was. The worst bit was when she had go to the payment screen she got her details wrong, at this point she decided that she shouldn’t continue. Luckily I convinced her to try again. Third attempt done. Never again 8O

    * Awaits imminent email update *

These threads always seem to kick Sam into gear.
Just looking through the Puffin thread and previous Rooster thread. Once a certain number moan or there’s a new thread, an email usual follows shortly afterwards.

I’d love to build up a UK made Steel frame with all hope stuff..
    – Wheelset
    – Headset
    – Head dr
    – headset spacers
    – Stem
    – Bars (if you can find a rare set)
    – Grips
    – Bard ends
    – Cranks
    – Chainring
    – Bash
    – BB
    – Seatclamp
    – Seatpost
    – Discs brake set

    What don’t Hope sell?
    – Tyres
    – Forks
    – Saddle
    – Frame
    – Dropper post
    – Chain
    – Rear mech
    – Shifter
    – Cables

It would probably cost a fortune, weigh more than the competitors but I think it would look lovely and you’d support a UK company and be covered by the great customer service.

I’ll leave that idea for the bonus/lottery win.

I think they look nice, but at that price there needs to be some benefits over other offerings..
It’s not light, it’s probably adequately strong (aren’t they all?) so I guess you’re paying for the name/bling/uk manufacturing cost.

Most bikes match. The stooge has a rear flow and front rabbit hole though. Lovely setup.

Once a month would seem like a reasonable interval to contact ‘investors’ to keep them in the loop.

Maxxis Chronicle is very capable. Different league to the Knard.
Do we think that Sam’s margin is 35%? Not bad!

Working at Vue as a customer assistant.
Fairly hard work, poor pay and antisocial hours but the staff at all level were fantastic. I actually enjoyed going into work because the social aspect was so much fun. Turns our that our cinema was one of the best performing too!

I may have a 50 mile old Orange Five ’14 in 17” with Pikes and CCDB Air.
    Would you be interested?

I tried a 650b 15mm front wheel with a 2.25 Ardent in a 120mm 26” revelation and it didn’t fit. Not sure what MY the fork was. Probably ’11 or ’12.

I only own cycling shorts! No trousers or leggings in my wardrobe.
It feels restricting and I get way to hot. I find that as long as I keep my core warm my legs don’t suffer. I often wear my summer shoes through winter too. I hate hot, sweaty feet.

    Orange Five 650b.
Nice and long and with a CCDB Air it is fantastic. It makes up for the single pivot platform.

My dad lives in a little German town where you can’t get wired internet.
He has to use 4G. It’s actually very good. We’re able to use Apple TV, Netflix at the same time as using the PC.

No help to anyone really as Tesco Boradband are now Talktalk.
I had a great experience with Tesco Broadband. Through to a real UK call centre within a minute and had my contract cancelled within another minute at no cost.
They did offer me a fantastic deal if I stay but the house I’ve moved to already has internet included.

I’ve had terrible experiences with Sky, BT and Virgin. Impossible to deal with.

    Something that rhymes, like mine.
    It’s a great ice breaker.
Especially when your name also rhymes with your Brothers..

My parents were smocking something I reckon

I imagine it depends on Ti quality and diameter..
I would imagine some cheap Ti in 27.2mm would give some noticeable compliance.
A Bigger would be tyres and tyre pressure.

How about something like the Apple Mac charger? Seems ideal.
Still a cable but uses a magnet to secure so you don’t have to DP your delicate device with an equally delicate charger. It’s very quick and efficient.

My ‘secure storage’ at Uni was a joke. It would have been okay if students had respect for other peoples property.
Stuff got damaged, stolen and bits nicked.
I ended keeping 3 bikes in my room without much bother.

I started on 12×150 but it was too stuff, so I swapped to 12×142 but it was too noodley. I opted for 12×148 for the perfect blend. The -2mm/+8mm really adds another dimension of subtleness.

Those of you that have replaced CMs with a Chronicle – how’ve you found the difference?

Not exactly the same but I went from a Spec Purgatory to a Chronicle. The grip is superb. I had a hairy moment on a saturated off camber muddy bank and the Chronicle saved me. There is no way the Spec would have gripped on that. The extra width got me out of trouble. The tyre makes the front end more subtle and takes the sting out of rigid vs. the Spec which did very little. It does flick up more mud though
