The only reason not to get one is because there is carbon RS :D !
I have a T129 and also ride a T130 sometimes. It’s the first FS bike I’ve truly gelled with. The 29er and 650b are very similar. They have plenty of travel for everything but true DH trails in the UK. Yes, you might take more of a beating but the bike will take it in its stride. They are such playful bikes and the long TT and ‘modern’ geometry is great. I’m holding out for a T129 Carbon..

Not ideal for winter then Mattjg.. How are they in the Pikes?
Hoping mine has a bit more clearance. Sounds like there is now way they’ll fit the T129 then :x

I quite like some of the clothing. Would be nice for a chilled ride.
But £18 for a puncture repair kit…[/url]

Similar experience- sell a frame to a random local rider (Thrustyjust). Have a nice chat. Subsequently sell a rear wheel to random person. Turns out he knows random local rider, who then supplies me with a box to post the wheel in!
STW makes the community spirit come alive  !

Does a 29er count? If so, I went from a Orange 5 650b with 150mm to a 120mm Whyte T129. It’s a fantastic bike and I much prefer it to more travel. Everything feels more direct and accurate. I found the 5 a bit vague and sofa-like. The Whyte is punchier and a bit more harsh, I suppose like a comfier HT. I’m happy enough riding blacks and reds at trail centers. Yes, it gives me a better workout but that’s why I enjoy it. No regrets from me.

On Wednesday, we remembered. Dignitaries gathered at the cenotaph, and in homes and shops and offices across the country we sat and quietly remembered those we had lost. We pledged to never forget the lives that had been destroyed – the millions of them in the trenches and gas chambers, the hundreds of thousands of them in endless wars in the desert – and to never repeat the mistakes which had led to such abhorrent tragedy.

    “Never forget”, we said.

    How long is never?

    Three days, apparently.

Hollande: “We are going to lead a war which will be pitiless.”
Cameron: “We will do whatever we can to help.”

Looks great. Prefect for winter. Enjoy!
If you don’t get on with it for whatever reason let me know

Very sad and I despair at human civilisation most of the time these days. Lots of innocent lives lost for no reason.

Hora (and all)- Don’t let this put you off your plans, routines, etc. There were 150(ish) killed in this attack, in a city with a population of over 2.25 million. What is the true probability that it would have been you if you were in Paris. Same goes for London (or any other large city). In reality the probability of you getting targeted or even being near the attack is miniscule.

The terrorist want you to be scared. That’s the point. Just carry on as usual and don’t play into their hands.

So good! It certainly doesn’t disappoint. I forgot how funny it was.
I need to re-watch it all again I think.

Thanks Chakaping- may as well order a new one to be on the safe side.
Think I’ll give one of those oval Works chainrings a go.

heir new team kit is a bit odd, it doesn’t seem to have their main sponsor on it

I thought you were being sarcastic, but you’re right! Just lots of iXS logos.

Small update- the frames out for delivery finally! That’s 5 working days after collection. A set of forks were collected via UPS yesterday at 11:00 am and are out for delivery today, as of 5:00 am. I’ve also got a Reverb that’s out for delivery with DPD today that was dispatched yesterday. I can only assume I’m unlucky with Royal Mail.

Wouldn’t that be nice Thrustyjust  ! What are the chances of that happening..

    Define ‘sent’

Seems to always start with ‘Collected from Post Office’ or ‘Collected from customer’.

Sounds like I’m rather unlucky in that case! Anything by the Royal Mail group seems to always be late. This isn’t an isolated case. I just feel like throwing my toys out the pram because I want my frame  .
Geographically- I’m located in a very small rural village about 25 minutes from Newbury. Not sure if that’s relevant. I never have issues with any other courier service.

    Nope, 4 working days.
Tracking still puts it at ‘National Hub’ as of this morning.

Balanced diet and exercise is without a doubt the best way to fuel your body.

BUT I’ve eaten low carb for a few years and initially lost 12kg and maintained my current weight. I would say I’m fit/athletic now and don’t need to change anything. I find muscle mass can still be built easily, probably due to the high protein in my diet. If I ever binge on carbs (ice cream, pizza, beer) I feel so rough and tiered for a few days- it’s like poisoning your body.

Everyone’s body is different so I wouldn’t necessarily discount the idea of low carb.

Easton Haven. Very nicely machined and stiffer than the Thomson and without the creaking. The Hope is probably stiffer but it’s also got garish graphics.

I happen to be selling the Haven stem in 55mm flavour..

alexh- thanks for clarifying! Saved me hassle and time.
I’m now wondering what aggressive mud tyre will fit.. a stretched DHR or HRII?

I really want to try the Purgatory but can’t justify £45 just to try.
I’ll be running i35’s on either Pike or Revs. 7mm at the sidewalls sounds fine. My stooge had the same clearance and it worked fine on my local rides.

What’s the chance that the local Specialized concept store will let me try..

    Hmm, sounds interesting.
Hopefully it’s not just rebranded Chinese stuff like Superstar/on-one.

Anyone seen the purgatorys online anywhere?

    Cyclestore
    Hargrove Cycles
    Rutland Cycles
    Sigma Sport
    Pedal Heaven

Lots more on Google- search for ‘purgatory 27.5×3.0’

2 titanium M8 bolts for the EBB on the Stooge to replace the nasty rotten steel ones.

Well, confirmation of new frame being sent! So will need to update this thread soon.

Trying to work out what tyres to get for my i35’s to fit into Revs..
I really want the Purgatory but not sure what the clearance will be like.

thomasgeorge- could you measure the width of your setup please?

That last looks lovely, but 64′ HA.. Really? Most DH bikes don’t have a racked out headangle like that. I have a feeling that might be too much on a 29er.

Sobre Upgrade 29”– it’s a cheaper option but the geometry looks good.

I used to ride with a group and found that I was the fittest and most technical rider. I thought I was well Enduro. Then I joined a different group and really struggled in terms of fitness and skill. Few months down the line I hold my own and would say I’m mid pack now. I think that riding with better riders boosts your riding massively. You pick up small things they do and they offer advice. Plus it’s more fun!
