@houns well I hope it’s not a long trial as I’ve got a 300 mile journey in a few weeks!

Just contacted a local company who specialise in wheels and I’m going in to have a look at some colours /finishes next time I’m passing.
I shall have a look at aftermarket wheels as well.

Sorry for the thread hijack but can you use a deep fat fryer instead of a slow cooker as I have an old one sat in the shed doing nothing.

Someone I knew caught pubic lice while he was in the forces, his mum told him to run a hot bath and put some Dettol in the water. He put a full bottle in and it burnt the skin off his gonads and he reckoned he could see his reflection in them!

@oldfart thanks needed another pair of trousers and that seemed a good price so I will give them a go.

I fitted one of these kits a few weeks ago and did what nickc did when fitting. Couple of attempts were needed but got it spot in the end. Thing is I’ve not been out on the mtb bike since so I’ve not tried it out yet.

At present no as I think I’ve got all bases covered. 12 year old Moda road bike needed some serious money spending on it so that got bodged on the cheap last year and is now my Zwift bike and was replaced with a Specialized Roubaix, sold the drop bar gravel bike and got a Scott Scale for XC duties and my 2017 Whyte T130 has just had a slackeriser fitted along with 140mm air shaft and new cranks. Could just do with another nice set of 27.5 wheels for it.
I’m 65 now and I think my next purchase will be an Ebike lite but probably not for a good few years. 70 birthday maybe?

Nothing to add other than when my sister did our family tree about 30 years ago she found out my Grandfather was a wall of death rider. Would have loved to be able to talk to him about it but I only saw him once when I was about 4 years old and he was literally on his death bed.

Well if anyones interested the customer rang me to ask if I’d had any joy in finding how to access the analogue tuner on their tv as their son had also rang Hisense for them and was told no one there knew how to do it or even if it was possible. So I went round to have a quick look before giving in and within two mins I’d sorted it.
You can switch between DTV and ATV by using the CH list button on the remote. Bit of faffing but the elderly couple are chuffed, saves them getting Sky Q.

@Mugboo I’ve actually done The Yorkshire mtb marathon about 5 years ago. Think the format may have changed  but at the time it was either a 54 mile route ( same route twice ) 27 miles and a shorter option. I didn’t do any training and bonked about 2 miles from the end. It was a chilled day out though and we all enjoyed it. Actually now you’ve mentioned it I may see what’s happening there this year.
Got a nice burger and beer at the end and it’s set in a lovely location.

Thanks guys, I’ve been riding 25 years my lad only a couple but no Enduro experience for either of us. Ridden lots of the Welsh trail centres, BPW etc. Few things there for us to look at and The Ex looks good. Boltby is in my area so might try and have a look at that the year after this. Distance isn’t a problem for either of us as we have at least two trips away a year mtbing.

The only tv I’ve comes across without an analogue tuner was a Sony about 6 months ago. The guy had it in his bar/ shed in his garden and had Sky HD piped across with a magic eye. ( Analogue signal ) I rang Sony technical and a very helpful young lady told me to do a factory reset and set country of origin as Greece and it would give me the option of an analogue tuner, and it did. Also it kept the menus/ language in English.
I would think most of these TVs are made for more than just the UK market hence the need to select your country when setting them up.

Tune modern TVs in every day of the week, 99% still have an analogue tuner which will only have one use and that’s to receive a signal from an old Sky box in another room. The source/ input button just gives you an option of tv, no Digital or analogue.

@garagedweller it could well have been, I just remember my Dad telling me about it. He also said that when the ambulance men came and took him away on the stretcher when he told them what happened they laughed that much they dropped the stretcher and he broke his leg!
Was he having me on all those years!

There was a story in our local paper about 50 years ago when I was a lad about a woman who had been decorating and had poured some leftover white spirit or similar down the toilet. Husband came home from work and sat on the bog while having a fag then dropped the tab in the bowl!

If you have channels missing on freesat it can be any number of things.
Most common I find is the plastic white cover on the lnb has perished and it lets water in. Tap the end gently and your finger will go through the plastic. New LNB needed

The dish or bracket has rotted and has dropped slightly losing signal. New dish

The F connectors on the lnb need replacing as they have got weathered.  New F connectors  needed

The dish wasn’t tightened up enough when fitted and is very slightly out of alignment.

My lad has got the insta 360 and the footage looks a lot better than I get from my GoPro hero 7. We went to BPW earlier this year and he was showing me how to do editing on his phone while we were on the uplift. Seemed really easy to use and I would consider one if I was looking for a new one.

My mate who repairs TVs etc swears by LG and he reckons the new Phillips are good as well.

@cougar yeah that was the one. Degaussing machine, pressed a little button in the middle, turned it round in an ever decreasing circle in front of the TV and then let go of the button and hey presto job done!

@tenacious_doug just spoke to my mate who repairs TVs and he says the fault you describe is well known on that model tv. He’s had lots in for a similar thing. Whether the retailer will know that is a different matter.

    cogglepin

@kormoran that used to be another common call out on crt TVs, kids with magnets or speakers placed too close to the TV caused the degaussing to go belly up! Was a 5 minute job to put it right with a little device we had.

@Tenacious_doug if you let me have the make and model I can let you know if there are any stock faults with that tv that cause that fault. Might be early next week before I can find out for you though.

    Should have said knocked over.

I set up TVs/ fit aerials for a living and I often get calls from people who have similar on their sets. Faulty screen but no visible marks on the outside. Generally the tv having been knocked has caused the fault.

Look good and I fancy a pair but like @dander  wondering on the fit. I’m a 30” waist , always a small but according to their chart I need an extra small.

I got one of the Chinese ones from Aliexpress £15 including postage, two weeks to get here. Not used it yet but it looks a bit of good kit for the money.
