Coyote, how does that coyote ride, is it particularly slack-headed and Dh/Dualish? I wondered if you had that name due to the bike manufacturer – I used to be coyoteboy on here as I’ve owned coyotes since about 1998!

It might be a 1.55 mile long cock, but owning it would still make you smile regardless.

Ahh the omipresent dent, like those rocks that you try to avoid but just cant seem to JUST because you’re trying not to look.

I wanted a bialetti thing but my brothers missus, used to work in a coffee shop, used hers once and binned it because of the taste of aluminium?

output from the head unit is only the max, all car speakers are the same impedance so you can happily interchange, just dont turn it to 11 as you say :) The only problem I found (my 306 one is playing up) is that I cant get any that will interface with my on-wheel controls, which is frustrating as I only just got used to enjoying them!

Well I know I’m heavy but I’m not a tree-legged monster. It stops spinning within maybe 3 or so wheel rotations from memory, not very long at all, I remember thinking the flywheel almost didnt seem worth bothering with! Reckon I could pedal it with 1 leg at 60rpm! maybe thats a bit of an exaggeration, but I can certainly hit 90-100 sat down.

I’m hoping to do some solo highland rides soon, really looking forward to it. I just need to find/plan some routes!

We just knocked off the top (down to about 2mm depth) and the plasterer plastered over it. Didnt use any form of coatings between as far as I remember, been fine since.

Mines on constant too, but stat controlled, it comes on every 3 or 4 hours for 15 mins or so. Dread to see what my bill will be, normally my gas bill is about £9 a month lol.

My brother wanted a riding partner, he’s 8 years older than me. As soon as I could fit a “decent” mountain bike I was expected to follow :) Enjoyed years of trips in his maestro van to various parts of the country. Wish I still lived near him as we’d both be more likely to ride more often!

I find my noodly bomber Z1s a problem, they squirm about a bit and bend backwards under braking but then so does the tyre. The rear of my NRS is very flexy, doesnt cause me any problems unless I’m running a big tyre, then the tyre catches with each thrash on the pedals – that IS annoying. But affecting the way it rides – no, i dont think I notice. You notice extra vibrations on a rigid thick-walled alu frame more than on a thin walled or steel frame, but I’d say it was mostly rubbish, or I’m just not good enough to notice.

His reply was that he had forgotten about me, whoops!

Not quite so funny when it does go wrong and you dont come back, trust me!

Doesnt seem to be anything wrong with it, it does get progressively harder with each click, it was slipping a little at first but I’ve tightened it onto the tyre more now and it only slips in much easier gears – but thats noticable as its a definite instantaneous ease in resistance.

Its a Tacx speedmatic magnetic one, got it as a present for xmas, but my commuter mate (when I lived elsewhere) has the same problem with his – neither of us can get it hard enough (lol, no sniggering at the back boys) and he’s on 52/14 fixed. Definitely not TdF material, I have the stamina of an egg in a boxing match!

Only recently had problems with my HTII, non-drive-side only, bearing has gotten stiff (but not gritty) after a period of several weeks being left uncleaned and unloved. Been on the bike for a couple of years I think now, not overly used but seen its share of river and lake crossings recently, which is probably what’s caused it. But I went through ST ones about the same rate, so I cant complain, other than cost. I’ll find some cheap bearings and do a swap soon.

Maxed out on the resistance, its a bit hard to turn the pedals by hand but sat on the bike its not that difficult to get up to max rpm in 3-4 pedal strokes? I’ll have to steal (I mean temporarily borrow) my other halfs computer/HRM and stick it on the TT bike!

TJ speaks sense, just tell people where you’re going, when you’re likely to be back and enjoy yourself. In this country very few places are remote enough for you to be properly without hope – usually there are walkers on most trails, but take a phone and in the odd case where you’re knocked out properly and dont come round your telling your home-time to a mate will do the rest. You cant negate all risk, but its stupid to let it rule your rides.

I have push down, 34/16. No slip problems even over rough stuff. The difference in wrap circumference with push up or down is minute, especially if you have a fairly tight chain already – like 5 or 6 degrees difference, personally cant see it making a difference but others seem to think so from experience so I bow to their knowledge!

Maybe I’m uneducated in this, but I reckon I could do those with my A720?

Edit: Sorry, not meaning to sound derogatory – the pics are nice (barring compression) but I’m lacking the technical knowledge to see what’s special. Please enlighten!

Oooh I never knew that about PSP, I have that free with work (and I dont have any dodgy copies at home at all!). I’ll hunt it down, thanks.

If I cant find it I’ll find PTLens and reverse engineer it :D

Calories = energy. You were working at different power levels on the two days, power = rate of expenditure of energy, so if your power drops your time increases but the energy is still the same. As said above, it will not be exactly the same due to muscle efficiency effects but within two reasonably close average power outputs (i.e. not comparing 10 mins to 10 seconds) the net result is going to be very similar.

Theres no reason they need to be the same width, but im fairly sure they are so close it doesnt matter anyway, apart from some of the double-skin ones maybe. They all appear to be around teh 1mm mark. Assuming the manufacturer hasnt made it so new pads leave only a fraction extra on the disc thickness (which I doubt) then you should be fine. Certainly my hopes work fine with magura rotors and vice versa.

You/the petition is also assuming that because the forests will be let out to a commercial company that there will be a wholesale logging and restriction on access to these areas.

I can see few other reasons for a commercial venture buying up vast swathes of woodland, unless they’re doing it out of the goodness of their heart, or using it as some sort of carbon-credit wangle?

I’m with GF. Plus I never found guards that worked properly (you only have to get a bit of mud on you and they’re pointless anyway). In for a penny, in for a pound ‘n’ all that. I also found that its more satisfying cleaning loads of gunk off rather than just a spattering, when you’ve been slogging for hours due to the soggyness.

Giant NRS – about 32lbs with light tyres IIRC.
SS – not sure, no scales to weigh it here, I’d guess at 25 though. Must buy scales.
