    cool vid them tyres must take a while to get up to speed. you got any out-takes from the harbour wall riding. How many boats can they get in there at once? Is it a natural harbour thats been altered abit

    everyone thinks that about the tyres lol,but there not too bad, they have 2.5 tubes which are alot lighter than the surly tubes, the harbour only has 1 creel boat operating out it now-the other sunk!,and jack didnt have his lifejacket on but got picked up with the lifeboat,
    he`s my friends dad,the boats have to be flat bottomed due to the dept at low tide to avoid hull damage, the harbour was always there as a natural cutting but was squared using steam cutters in the 1800s before finished with stone

    trail around south of toscaig is pretty rough,ok to do if your up there a while,or walk the dog,i would recommend the coffin road from applecross to kenmore out and back to enjoy the climbs, descents and scenery both ways, then an evening cycle form the bay over to sand from the church' both signed,on map,
    always meant to have a look at your route 2,proberly is possible, most tracks ive found on the map there are on the ground, i usually head up to torridon to ride lower diabeag to red point beach and back then head up loch marie next, lots of options…

    heres a film of both trails;

    although not sure what CLS is

    cls is a cheap to buy softwood, you can get it at B&Q or if your a skip jumper theres often off cuts chucked out by joiners, its often used for interior wallframes for attaching plasterboard, its easy to saw and drill, cheapy cordless drills will screw fastners into it easy,
    heres the scewfix HD hooks i used,5 for approx a tenner;http://www.screwfix.com/prods/25264/Ironmongery/Hooks/Storage-Hooks/100Kg-Hooks-Black-210mm

    you could fix CLS to brick with hammer fixings then add hooks or hang the hooks vertical from cls lenghts secured between roof beams like i did in the pic i posted,

    3.7"surly endomorph with large marge 68mm rims rule on sand :-)
    but a wide rim like a 47mm trials rim with conti 2.5 diesel`s about 15-18 psi are not bad, check you have the tyre clearance first!

    How's the Pugsley ride Coastkid?

    if magazine staff owned them and were writing about them everyone would want them but there not so keep it quiet and lets enjoy riding where you dont see many other people riding!!,before the pug i had a 1×1 with 47mm trials rims and nokian 3" tyres for beach riding but the pug is another level of floatation, 1st off this is the crazyest looking, most grin inducing, hilarios yet satisfying mtb(actully its a ATB!) ive owned in 22 years mountainbiking and thousands of pounds spent on bikes,ok there wierd handling on tarmac, everyone stares at you,xc riders all ask how hard is it with they heavy (only 1050g) tyres and kids go daft when they see it,it isnt the best bike ive owned or cost the most and its not much fun round say the black route at glentress even though i rode a 2 hour 5min ride but- it amazes you where it will go and it re-writes the apparent rule book which is that it wieghs proberly a real life 38-40 lbs with tools and water,no suspension yet i find myself riding 50-60 miles in a day on the cheviot hills http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGRYS-j36XE which normaly kills me on my full suss xc bike- a 26 lbs cannondale, i bought it for riding on sand which there is 45 miles of coastline where were i stay, but it really shines where there is any soft going,i love it when you meet other riders and they mock it then you pass them in gloopy soft going (with the pug grin) and then there like "can i have a shot?!!",oh also they leave less of a foot print than a human so if that isnt a great eco statment againt the anti biking farternity then i dont know what is :D
    if your ever up in edinburgh and fancy a shot on the beach let me know, pug mk 2 will also be under way this winter!
    loads of info on them here-http://forums.mtbr.com/forumdisplay.php?f=164

    as mentioned the site on the coast is usually midge free with a sea breeze but you can have a campfire at the red squirrel site but the showers are minging.
    the balhulish pub much more REAL with locals usually than the clachaig which once was great but is always full of stag doo`s nowadays, not what you expect when your up there, also turned up there 9.02pm and wouldnt serve us a meal(7 people) drove to balahullish pub and half an hour after stopped serving rummaged up a good meal-proper highland hospitality!
    enjoy your visit :-)

    im running a standard 22,32 with bashring and a 9speed 32 rear on semi slicks (halo twinrails)and its fine, only run out of gears with strong tailwind, sits 18 mph with a tail breeze,on a 26″ this gearing seems a bit low for road work,34 would be good for lots of big climbing up north!
