There are other combinations of Fat front too depending on Fork choice, the enabler isn’t suitable for 26″ frame builds, you would want Surly, vicious or Fatback forks for that really.
Surly has rear brake spacing so requires the use of a rear hub on the front, the others take a genuine 135mm front hub.

other Rim choices are kris Holm, Speedway (fatback)

Other hub choices (depending on fork) are (135mm) Paul Components, Phil Wood, Fatback and Hadley
(135mm rear disk spacing e.g. Salsa enabler/SurlyPugsley) Any rear you like although Single speed hubs are the strongest due to lower dish build.

And yes I am a Fatbike saddo.
the Surly fork is available as the 135 offset for rear hubs using a rear disc mount-as comes with the framesets and also inline to to fit a regular 100mm front hub with standard front brake mounting :o
Fatbike owner too but far from sad for it

get an old alloy multi size flat spanner to carry (not those old chrome steel Raleigh ones!)
Surly chaintug on the drive side works a treat as just pulls off once wheel nuts loose, you have to use the serrated washer on the non drive though to stop your axle rotating and causing all sorts of problems :o

i have RS7s on a beach bike with a Phil Wood BB as needed a 100mm BB,
both very light and dont think they will be breaking in a hurry,
Buy a PW BB and you wont ever need to buy another, just change the bearings when needed. Both just look lovely made :o

are you wearing a corset or a cummerbund?

maybe its a back brace cause everyone who see`s these bikes (online) but havent ever ridden one thinks they must weigh a ton and be hard to cycle…
so you dont have to do a risk assesment now…

bought my first on one (456) this year dispite over 20 years of mtb`s and very impressed with the frame build and finish for the price.
headset pressed in no probs and i faced the rear disc drop outs but they didnt really need it, as for the BB dont worry about it…having this done is a bit of a farce considering external BB spacers are plastic and therefore will flex as the BB bearings are tightend…
agree on Genesis for nice frames too for not much more :o

i used to (ahem) pass through the woods there a few years ago when i had a trailbike (motorised) if on route to two wheels at peffermill road and then heard about the gypo`s stopping kids on crossers and those wee mini bikes at knifepoint for there bikes…aint the locals thats a problem up there but the interlopers…if this is still ongoing then could be a worst problem for cyclists,
other than that more trails in the toon must be a good thing :o
