Film is around Spike Island at John Muir Park at Dunbar, East Lothian.
    Google Earth Dunbar :-)

For tea & cake and a bottle of Strongbow you can ride a 18″ pugsley here :-)

I ride flats as we often ride real greasy rocks exposed at low tide, oh and i ride flats now on all bikes now :-)

    LOL Al
I usually ride at 8 psi on 3.7″ and 6 psi on 4.7″ on the beach,
I put 25 psi in my pugsley to ride the 10 miles west on the road to the coast once when the car was off the road. I bunny hopped a kerb and clipped it and the rebound nearly spat me off

Caught the ERC chain gang one night east of Drem and stuck behind for about 200 yards :-) they were all looking up from my tyre drone

I chose the right week for my weeks holiday, nothing to do but cruise on the coast :-)
Mud free and just an airline clean and relube of Squirt each evening, yesterdays ride i tried to film the float of the new Moonie, at the start of the film look at the footprints, then the tyre prints, loads of float :-)
lovin this bike, harder work on tarmac than the pugsley (expected) but unreal on real soft sand and dunes…

Most folk will not get the differance MM, unless they are already riding a fatty on the beach. It is a lot more noisy on tarmac riding to the beach!, and on tarmac its tyres feel more squirmy – until you get onto the soft stuff, then it flies!, it is lighter than a pugsley and seems to fly along nicely on the beach, the float on really soft sand is unreal!, for beach riders its a no brainer, for all round riding then 3.7 tyres will mostly be better, can`t wait to try out its floating potential in warmer weather! :-)

Sounds indeed like cable freezing, you putting away a wet bike in the shed?, leave it in house a few hours first, or do not wash if that cold, Alaskan riders have greased the inner cable to prevent it, i did that last year and had no probs with shifting in -14C.
Why not put a Middleburn cable oiler on it?, blast with GT85 and job done :-)

TJ, still have my seized Alfine as a progect for you :-)

I do a blog on coastal riding in SE Scotland, it is not all about riding a fat bike, summer time has more bivi, xc regular stuff, and other peoples films doing the rounds, but it is not really what is main stream and in the magazines im afraid, but feel free to leave comments on anything, it is hard to know what folk want to read about without comments – good or bad :-)
You may find some of the links to other blogs on the side bar interesting,

Im busy Sat to go out, but Port Seaton to Gosford Bay then JMW to Aberlady is nice, (Gosford Bothy cafe)

Or Aberlady to NB as mentioned,(Westgate Gallery Cafe is ace. bike parking in wheelie bin compound)

    Or Seacliff to Tyninghame,(Tyninghame Cafe)

or John Muir Bay from Tyninghame to Dunbar then around to Barnes Ness,
    (Old cafe in High Street)

Or you could just spend all day riding the miles of criss cross sandy singletrack around Gullane, (German Cafe)

    Spoiled for choice :-)

Don`t think i will ride the Pentlands again, like riding on egg shells, Nice though if you get it frozen like you did Steven :-)
    Slight hijack;
There are similar trails down here at Pencaitland the same,
Kinchie trail is trashed, one long rut, and i know it is all not been just by the local gang (which includes me). i do not blame the walker who has dragged branches across it to try stop cyclists, as it cannot be a pleasant walk now…
Guess thats what happens when you blog and film stuff
So im bowing out of xc stuff for a while and staying on the sandy stuff…

Druidh were you along the coast Saturday?
twin Larry tracks from Aberlady point to NB, i know Gary B came later and saw our 7 sets of tracks
if not you, then there is another… :-)

I can understand celebrities or top sports people having blogs.
These people sell their auto/biographies, so there is a market out there..

But everyday people doing a blog??
I think their presuming that they are that interesting .. and its more about their ego in that case..

Not at all, there just online diarys, reports of stuff, or photography they want to share, I have met some great friends from blogging, and online friends all around the world,

ego folk are the same in anything either blogs, forums, social events etc… relax… :D

Link to my blog, if you dont like it move along…

Mud free coastal singletrack and then onto beach at low tide down to Dunbar with fellow fatty bike mates, visit Harbour and John Muirs House (Museum) then cafe for tea and cake  then home at sunset for pics looking across to Edinburgh, forcast is clear and windy, ideal for a winters day on the coast, :-)

    Sunday;
Off to find some WW2 shells (20mm Hispano) on Sunday (MD on back of bike), hopefully all found will be unexploded 8O
