I've got to agree with ritchiethesilverfish… It makes a big difference if you have someone waiting for you.

    oldgit,

My friend seems to have success with Conti Explorers but they clog with me but I'm a bit heavier.

Firemud Pro in 1.8 are the best at staying clog free and gripping the mud for me but are fairly draggy everywhere else.

Thanks for the advice on the Jimmy's I will consider a set next! What size do you use?

    At Stripe…

2.1 Sharks have a serious bite pattern. Fine in all mud except sticky Cambs clay!

What do you use in the cambs clay? everything I've tried just clogs

I agree with Gary_C in that it HAS to comfortably numb and I also agree with Norfolk-In-Chance in that it HAS to be Live

BUT… not from the pulse tour… it has to be from the "Delicate Sound of Thunder" live album

Which also includes many other great solos, you should buy it now…

There is a fair bit around the Kings Cliffe area which also links into the Fineshade and Wakerley Woods as mentioned previously. Would be happy to show you some of the better stuff or mark a map up for you. Let me know if you're interested. johnD0TcresswellATgmailD0Tcom

I've been promising Chris to post a full review on the LL but so far only got one vid of it in action and it's a pretty poor effort from the video team and it's a biggish download for 12 seconds but here it is.. if anyone knows of some free video editing software then please recommend it..

Or someone with some ideas for getting better shots, I'm not going to buy a new bike mountable camera or anything, just some ideas would be good as the vid does not give you any idea of how really fantastic the light beam is..

And yes I realise I could turn my rear light off in the woods but I always forget…

I'm not dreaming about getting my Troutelight…

I got it yesterday… went out for a quick blast in our local woods and must say, it is ASTONISHING! My friend, who I was with, turned his twin halogen jobby off as there was no point to it being on.

Many thanks to Chris and Smudge, this is a very professional, very powerful little package, the beam pattern focus is very smooth (probably not the right term) and the mount also works perfectly.

This will transform my winter riding completely and I can't wait for it to get dark today!

I will try and get some pics up tomorrow night.
