Cheap to buy, my work covers the tariff but they only offer crap phones that are hopeless for email and I want to use it for email!

The youth hostels in Aviemore and Braemar are great! Cheap with locked bike storage and you don’t need towels or sleeping bags as both are supplied. I think you have to pay £1 for a towel.

Why can’t you leave your car in Blair Atholl?

I had an s-max for a fortnight trip to France and thought it was fantastic, better than my previous 2010 avensis and my current 2011 insignia

There is a multi storey (queensgate) just as you pull in towards the station but if you are out all day then the price will be the same.

You used to be able to park at the hotel opposite but they now charge the same as the station car park.

Pretty much shafted unless you are only going for half a day…

They were always very flexy and then they just went all wobbly between the stanchions and lowers.. Took them off before an incident occurred… Now sitting in shed if someone fancies a project….

Won’t the new chain stretch a bit as soon as you start riding it? I find I have to adjust the ebb to change the tension in anew chain fairly quickly after first fitting. (Might shag your freehub bearings if it is toooooo tight initially though)

You can see the movement in the back of the CW ones you are looking at.. I really like mine if thats any use.

Crossmark rear is good in the dry
2.4 Ralph on the front is great but as said previously a pig to seal tubeless although the new ones are tubeless ready I think.

However, I really like 2.25 ardents (good volume for a 2.25), and just bought a 2.4″ for the front to try out.

I’m pretty sure Schwalbe label their 29er tyres as 28

Is it because 29er actually refers to the outer tyre diameter and 29er wheels are actually 700c which is 28″?

    Am I talking rubbish…?

Depends on where you’re riding I guess… If you’re on super twisty singletrack then the hummingbird has the edge for nimbleness whereas the swift has the edge on longer crosscountry riding for complete trail munching…

I built a 69er hummingbird for a mate and it gets a lot more use than his Scott and Giant carbon full sussers… Nice big fat 2.4 Ardent on the front and off you go….

    Really nice bike…

Take your time… the xtr crank removal tool doesn’t arrive with me until the 11th July !!!! (Pesky Winstanleys…)

Unless of course you’d want the cranks as well… ;o)

Spark is the fastest bike I’ve ever ridden, I’m only getting rid as my 29er gets more use and I have pressure from she who must be obeyed…

I’ve got a 2008 XL Scott Spark 10 full carbon frame you can have. Nude shock is good and complete with bar control thing.

Currently got an xtr chainset and bb fitted as I don’t have the tool to remove it yet.

Let me know if you’re interested. My email address is in my profile

My worktop overhangs my belfast sink by 1/4″, seems about right… enough to get a good silicone seal that you can’t see.

Spoon if on the cheap, otherwise what they said…

    Personal things, saddles.
SDG Bel Air RL Ti. Not cheap tho.

    What he said

What fits my arse, won’t necessarily fit yours. SDG Bel Air suits mine nicely though, been also trying out a Specialised Romin too and that’s pretty good if a little firm.

I only have problems with Ralphs, it’s the only tyre that gives me grief… some just don’t seem to want to seal…

Beam racks clamping to seat posts are complete waste of time unless you”re just bimbling out with the family for a picnic. I bought the topeak mtb one and it almost runined a trip around the Cairngorms.

Whereas the revelate frame bag is superb, i’ll be getting more of their stuff for my next trip.
