With the middleburns you can run either the spider to accept 1, 2 or 3 rings or just an UNO chainring with no spider as per the picture above.

The only thing to watch out for is the bottom bracket, you get the standard middleburns in square taper or isis and then the x-type for ht2 bottom brackets. All of which should fit in your niner EBB.

Where does everyone buy their feathers? I use ebay normally but the feathers on the bay now seem to come from thailand, singapore etc… Are there fakes around?

    Anywhere better/cheaper to get them?

I run Fibre flares and think they are great, 100% reliable so far and always get good comments from others on visibility.

2.4 Ardents are about as big and comfy as you can go I think… They are really nice and fast but not a mud tyre…

EDIT: I see on-one have released their 29×2.4 chunky monkey, could be worth a try…?

just not enough volume in a mud-x, beaver are better but i had trouble getting mine up tubeless. Had to put a tube in and leave it for a couple of days followed by a compressor… Sealed nicely once in the bead though.

    29″ does not fit 26er…
I think you’ll find it will.
You might also find a front tube for an MX bike will fit in a 26er if it’s that or walk home.

I know which I’d rather be doing… 26″ tube into 29er is easy..

Wheels wise, flows come in 36h in 29er variety which helps

Forks wise, are you considering other manufacturers than the main 2?

Tyres wise, Plenty of knobbly stuff out there, covered by the twentynineinches.com crowd…

2.0″ storm is NOWHERE near the volume of a 2.35″ high roller.

I have both, the storm is similar to mud-x, i.e. both smaller than a maxxis 2.0″ beaver….

I think the carbon ones are pretty good, mine weigh bang on the 770g advertised and they do take some trail chatter away.

I’ve got a spare set somewhere, email in my profile if you’re interested.

EDIT: Don’t seem too flexy to me…

Had mw80 and defrosters and much prefer the shimano, defrosters are not very warm despite the name.
