Nice job unovolo, but lx aren’t light are they?

They were some middleburns on classifieds for £25 earlier…

Not that I’d entertain such a daft idea, but why a Buzzard? Surely a Yelli Screamy would be better.

Why would the yelli be better? Buzzard is designed for the UK, made of steel, you don’t need eye bleach after you’ve looked at it. They’re aren’t any front mech problems given the direct mount adaptor that is supplied.

Also, if you shorten the chainstays to make a 29er more playful doesn’t that just make it even less comfortable as the wheel is right under your ass?

I was worried about this, but the buzzard is very comfortable especially with a 2.4″ rear tyre in the back (which there is plenty of clearance for)

    Anyway, buy one, end of…

I think the full monty gloves are fantastic, they are warm enough until it gets really cold, they are warm in the wet yet I happily wear them in summer too…

However, I am not sure the padding is perfectly placed for me… I would highly recommend them but only after you’ve tried them on and grasped your bars as it were, to check pad placement.

I’ve currently got the same dilemma, loving the 2.4 ardent up front but then when the rain comes and everything gets slippy, they are pathetic.

I have the scars too prove it.

I want decent mud shedding but still have volume. Was thinking 2.35 nobby nic because it looks like it will clear and my riding friends use hansdampf and they clog, as does the chunky monkey (Great tyre apart from that).

Was thinking of waiting for a spesh Butcher 29×2.3 but don’t think we can get them yet…

    Anything else?

I think the maxxis advantage exo is a good suggestion, never had any trouble with them and they roll well enough and bounce off the rocks. No burping tubeless either. The 2.4 is a really nice volume too.

Also chunky monkey is great but slower than an advantage, made by maxxis with the exo carcass, so i’ve heard….

Loving mine, the only thing I’d add is what a great, efficient pedaller it is too…

Tubeless tyres are like motorists. Most are actually ok, but we focus on the few exceptions that act like complete **** for no apparent reason.

It is fookin fantastic! Really lively, fast and swoopy on the downs, wants to pop off everything you can find and yet very stable and confidence inspiring. It is very quick to turn into corners and manoeuvre.

And I thought if I had all the above that pedalling would be compromised, but it is absolutely not. It is very efficient and not at all wanderery on the steep ups.

I think Sam has hit a really good balance with this one, I am very pleased, I was going to get a cross country bike as the middle ground between this and my single speed but I don’t think I’ll bother….
