Then you’ve got the ability to run lower pressures without with less chance of pinch flatting
Cos when you do it’s a whole lot worse having put holes in the tyre sidewall rather than just the tube.

Because your tubes completely protect your tyres… don’t they?

That’s what it would be about for me. Though I should balance that with the fact it takes about 5 mins to repair a puncture / change a tube.

So I had 9 thorns in my tyre last time, 9×5 mins = 40mins, then you have to fix your tubes etc.

Plus as someone pointed out earlier, the faff is done in the warm environment of the garage/shed prior to riding, not on the trail in the rain with your mates waiting for you.

Depends if you like punctures plyphon

Whooaaa up there! It is a bit more of a faff, but I think the benefits way out weigh the faff.

I realise this everytime I change tyres and pull thorns (9 last time) out that I didn’t even know were there.

Then you’ve got the ability to run lower pressures without pinch flatting etc… etc…

Edit: you don’t need new fluid everytime, just scrape out with the supplied stans scoop and put in a jamjar until needed

Can’t comment on the ECR but…

I have a 29+ Knard in the front of my swift and loving it…!

I have also backed the rooster project so will be going full 29+, I think it is definitely the way to go, especially now there are sensible rims such as dually’s and new tyres are coming from Maxxis and Vee Rubber.

I like the knard, it flies along and the grip is sensational but when it gets wet muddy and claggy it is not the best.

I’ll pay £3.50 or more for something from Fullets … It’s gorgeous and is a local London brewery. I do pity those drinking the ‘premium largers’ Stella etc. They pay more for that.

Never tried Fullets what do they make?

You won’t get a seal between the bead of the tyre and the rim unless there is tape there IME.

So I always put tape right to the edge but not up the vertical edge.

How the hell does water get into a tyre that doesn’t let out air?

I just shake the wheel and listen for a slosh…

    No sloshing = add sealant

I do fancy Nant y Arian, but I’ll be situated between Coed y Brenin and Machynlleth so was planning trips to those 2. Done CyB already though…

So start in Machynlleth high street and buy maps then?

Thanks for your responses, duly noted trimix, it will be used to measure the pressure once I am comfortable that I have the correct pressure in my tyre through riding and then I can repeat…

Pinkster’s looks the cheapest so far…

Great service and a top bloke who does come on STW, not as cheap as your ebay stuff but at least you know it’s been tested, the batteries are good and that you have someone to go back to if things aren’t working.
