I wish mine was here also, but there aren’t any muddy tyres around in 29+ at the moment… so don’t know what I’d stick on it 29+ wise anyway

he sent a message 4th Dec

    Hi all,

I was hoping that about now I would be emailing you with details of shipping your Roosters to you. Sadly some major issues have come up in production which are taking some time to resolve. Fortunately they were identified before frames went to paint and I’m hoping can be quickly resolved. However it is not going to be until the new year that we see any frames here. I’m really sorry about this and can assure you it’s proving extremely frustrating and difficult for me, as it is for you.

I will be sure to keep you up to date with any further news as I have it.

    My apologies again.

He then gave an offer for rooster backers of 35% off any frame he has in stock on the 5th Dec

definitely mtb-batteries, you’ll be amazed at the run time.

The capacities other (ebay/chinese) places claim for their batteries are laughable

My only slight grumble is that the Astras do seem to dull quite quickly, so by the end of the week i can feel a bit of drag. I’m going to get me some of those Feathers and see if they make a difference,

Feathers are slightly sharper than Astras but dull quicker than Astras so I don’t think Feathers are your solution. I love feathers but save them for when I want a really really close shave and only use them for 2 or 3 shaves.

After trying quite a few blades, I think that the Astras are the best compromise between sharpness/smoothness/longevity, in a merkur 38c anyway. They are also currently one of the cheapest if you get from the guy on Ebay which is nice…

7o’clocks would be next on my list for you to try for longevity but only the black packet ones, not the green or yellows.

At 7.2% the beer should be super conditioned! Weaker beers don’t last…

However, it also depends on the temps in your loft, if it gets hot in summer then that might have done it some harm…

Could be fantastic, when can we come and try it…???

@mattjg – I don’t know what’s safe on a flow but I don’t think you’ll be getting the 29+ benefits if you’re running above 14-15psi, more in the region of 10-13 for me.

Just checked my spam, turns out that

    1. I’ve just won $1.5M from western union
    2. A nice lady called MarinaB from Russia wants to meet me
    3. Ms Florence Dele from Nigeria wants me to adopt her 2 kids
    4. World Bank Monetary Fund has a share of $8.5M for me
    5. etc.

Good job I checked! I would’ve hated myself if I’d missed out on these wonderful opportunities!

would seem counterintuitive to put sealer on before stain…

I’d just be staining it then varnish and that’s it…

    Probably a bit amateur tho…

Ardents,Nobby nics,Wtb and On one Smorgasbords all an absolute bitch, use a lever and i tend to pinch the tube.

involved 2 people, a lot of swearing and a pinched tube puncture

Why would you use tubes on a flow rim?

I love the rest of the Shand stuff and aspire to own one, I just think the design of this is behind the times.

This is made in the UK, with some semi-custom options (dropouts, colour – geo may be extra £) out of Columbus Niobium tubing. It’s also belt-compatible, has dropper-friendly seat tube diameter, stealth dropper cable routing and a taper-friendly 44mm head tube.

The Swift is made in Taiwan out of double butted 4130 and has none of the above afaict.

Custom dropouts – Give you that one
UK Made – Give you that too, I would support that.
Columbus Tubing – May or may not be noticeable during riding, geometry more important I would think
Belt Compatible – Great for 0.5% of the population
Dropper seat post – Even Thomson do a 27.2 dropper
Stealth Dropper Compatible – This is an open slot in the seat tube…
Taper Headtube – This potentially may restrict the fork choice in the future for the swift

I think it’s much more important to be able to run big volume tyres in the back of an allday hardtail rig like this

Nice looking frame but seems a year or 2 behind where the singular swift is now and is twice the price of the swift.

The main reason I increased the size of stockpot was so that I could do a full volume BIAB, and also to ensure I was getting a full 10l into the fermenter. I now don’t need to dunk sparge or top up the boil volume, I’m still hitting 70% efficiency and I’ve obviously got one less step to do

GREAT CALL! Just brewed like this, hitting over 70% with it also. Won’t muck about again!

Bigger pot and full volume biab FTW!
