aahh but in the pics on the VN site it appears to be with my pate hate – an EBB. They responded quickly to my first questions so customer service seems good.

Thanks – are yours road or mtb? I’m waiting to see if they will do a frame with sliding dropouts.

I’m 5’10" with 34" leg to floor barefoot (32" trousers). I did e-mail Niner but they said contact local dealer. I have spoken briefly to ctbm. I just can’t get my head around £799 for a non-custom steel frame.

Currently building up an On-one steel 29er as well and contemplating whether I should go for a Niner SIR9 or On-on ti.

aren’t the 5.10’s lethal on wet mud/grass though? (although obviously superb on rock)

Somebody did do a head-to-head review I’m sure – it was some riders based somewhere on the south coast. There was info /link to report either on here or BR / BM forums. Not much help I know – but I remember reading it.

I’ve got the new Phantom – love it, very versatile, but concur with comments about cut – it’s too baggy around the torso (not shoulders or arms).

I spent 2 weeks camping/walking/scrambling there about 10 years ago – highly recommended! No idea about biking though – sorry! If you’re into birds (of prey) there’s loads to.

just been looking at those! I reckon ti version would still be £200 once paid for duty etc. Might give the steel ones a try though. Have you used them?

I was thinking of getting a headband mounts for my ayups – reckon it would be top for running. The Petzls are good. I think Silva used to do some running specific ones as well.

2nd the Bonty – I’m using ACX 2.2’s which I’ve no complaints about. Keep thinking about trying a Mud X but haven’t got round to it yet.
