    Smashing Pumpkins. Rubbish

Risk appetite vs Peace of mind. I’ve both but that’s because different amounts of equity in each meant different products were available.

Personally, I like piece of mind, have 8 years on one so fixed it for 5 knowing it can be smashed out in that time.
Another has been out of it’s term for years and is tracking at a ridiculously low rate, that’s the one you don’t overpay!

A decent advisor should see you right….then go straight to his suggested lender it might(!) be cheaper…..

+1 Power ball, power putty is good too. I also stabbed a tennis ball and got squeezing that. Broke the head of the radius snowboarding and was climbing (cautiously) 3 months later. Oddly it’s the other wrist that gives me more grief now. I find glucosamine helps too, others might tell you its pish.

I’m in Matlock….swing past, use mine, test it in the Peaks ;0) Made a huge difference to mine.

Like. I’m also of the crazy long legs and arms but short torso proportions, so that looks comfy!

Funkier from CRC. 200Km on an unconditioned bum! As good as my Castelli’s.

Class 2 AC separation here (and I think rotator cuff is FAR more serious…..?) been off for 4 months, waiting for MRI results to see if it’s going to be an op or not. Internet research (and Sick Mick!)suggests not, but we’ll see. Honestly thought I’d be right for the Mega – no chance.

(Doctor) Friend of mine didn’t get hers sorted for a few years, she suffered big style, then see a specialist and he’s operated and all is well so far! But she said (as per mooman above) the sooner the better!

IMO: Rest well, lift nothing and concentrate on range of movement the strength will come naturally….i.e. a wine… a half… a pint… a stein!!!

    All the best mate.

Currently wondering whether going from 1×9 Saint to 1×10 Zee would be worth it since I have some vouchers, more for the clutch than the range. Saying that it’s an AM bike not DH, you’d imagine the new Saint/SRAM X? is 10sp for a reason no?…closer ratios if your’e racing, perhaps? Sorry, slight hijack, thinking out loud! Also interested!

FWIW Zee mech and Shifter, XT chain and cassette comes in at £115 from the obvious.

    35mpg on a 10 year old Cherokee…..honestly? That’s impressive for an old, big 4×4!

There’s definitely a difference on my bike, others may vary. However, it was a complete balls ache from where I got mine….(http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/offsetbushingscom) ended up taking a file to them. I wouldn’t want to be swapping them daily, but if it’s for an alps trip or the like then 10mins for a week of riding isn’t to much hassle, nor is it for a weekend of uplift etc saying that.

Saint gears, BB and pedals, XT Brakes, chain and cassette,SLX crankset. A mix and match I can’t fault….. But there’s plenty I’ve not tried!

The battery indicator isn’t particularly accurate, as above. However, my unit stores all data until the point of battery running completely flat. It served me for four good rides in France and died 15km short of completing the Etape on a single charge. I thought this was pretty good since it was linked to a HRM and cadence sensor throughout. A 500 fwiw. Are people running the latest firmware?

1×9, 11-34 put back, 32t up front. Gets me around the Peaks ok, albeit with foul language in foul weather!

Dublin, since my dad won’t fly. Some flew, some trained, wasn’t hugely expensive. Was very good. Guinness factory tour, beer bike etc.

Agents are, for the most part, shit. Be there. They like the house, real life experience has more chance of selling it than another cheap suit with a copy of the same details in their hand!

Beat to it……….highlights a little theme though eh?!

Very transparent. Phil and Kirsty have made sure that these techniques no longer work. Viewed a house for the MIL the other day, it was scorchio……coffee, open fire, baking bread, local cafe recommendations; smelt a rat……. None of the aforementioned solved the damp! I pay attention when people tell you they’ve been happy there, what the neighbours are like, running costs etc. Sell the home, not the house. You can brew up in a tent!

Note: other opinions and emotional triggers may vary!

    Good luck!

Got an older model, sizing was spot on, from CRC super cheap. They’ve only slipped down under DH trousers where they were “dragged” down by some vigorous pedalling! On my third set of body armour due to being underwhelmed and these are the only set of knee pads I’ve had and stil happy!

No real experience since my little one is only 6 months. However, I will be sending him in Jedi’s direction should he decide to try his luck on a bike. I can’t remember a word Jedi said, but certainly left with a lot of “clarity”; operating within you comfort/skill zone, concentration, gradual and sensible progression etc. Having embarked on a number of “sports with consequences” from a young age and tested the the NHS/emergency services on numerous occasions I’d say Jedi’s approach will filter out the MTFU mentality and keep the testosterone levels in check. I certainly wish I’d had more exposure to his approach earlier on. Being in control of your own decisions and mind is half the battle in my opinion.

Warm enough for most things. Used mine in Norway, Dartmoor and welsh winters and in the sopping wet too. Keep in mind the warmth comes from heft/weight, not loft like a premium down bag. There pretty robust too, what use you got in mind?

And I thought I liked a rant! Happy Lev owner here, not the internally routed one. Isteered clear of hydraulic since everyone I know has returned them at least once and when the lever brakes it’s £50 and a bleed. I have a mate with one sat in the corner of a garage as he’d rather take the financial hit than “burdon some poor bastard with it”! They all have their horror stories, just a little context for you.

All real ales (normally a choice of 6) at £2.50. Occasionally there’s some extravagant one’s on for not much more. Guess where all my dog walks finish? 😀

    Just got this:

    Hi Kevin,

Great, thanks for sending over those sizes.

The sizes I had on file must have been for a different year model – sorry about that!

IS there any chance you can send those back? The address is..
    ____________________________________________________

Now, I’ll see what happens before stamping my feet as I do want this to work out. But, I’m struggling to believe that over 10mm out can be attributed to a different year model. Which in this case I know it can’t. Plus I’m pretty sure the P&P back is more than the materials cost, and they are just materials since I know of no bike that has conical bushes……

    Grrrrr

I’m sure they’re not insured when parked on (your) private property. Burn and report with a very detailed address….. Should cost them!

Cheers, guys. Whilst trying to get the dimensions for this I’m getting a worse and worse feeling. It looks like they were sized up by squinting at a google image! The end of one bush fits the shock eye, the other doesn’t….. and each assembly leaves an incorrect “gap” for the shock eye width.

Emailing now to hopefully get a resolution, hoping it all comes good and I can repost with a more positive update!

    Demo’d:

    5
    5AM
    Alpine
    NP Mega

Bought the Mega. 5 was OK, 5AM good down but pants up, Alpine was best of the Oranges. I just liked the Mega a lot more, up and down.

As above, plus never had a condensation problem, there’s some pretty good, inaccessible vents under the “eaves”.

I’ve an Asgard annex. It holds:

    NP Mega
    OO 456
    Ribble Gran Fondo
    Turbo trainer and wheel
    Tool box
    Bag of body armour
    4 Helmets
    2 Rucksacks
    4 pairs shoes

Tightish, but works. They come flat packed and feel super flimsy. Dead easy to put together and super sturdy once constructed. Would be noisy to break into, if you managed. Would recommend.

That’ stinks. I’m with NZCol, 5 of you, 1 of him, take the initiative. This will depend on the mental and perhaps financial robustness of you colleagues. Even if you go the legal or citizen advice route, he’s shown his true colours……you honestly want to work for him when it sounds like the 5 of you scratch each others back in an honest, informal and workable manner?

    Every cloud….

    Wish you well 8)

I’ve heard of this self adjustment of the pads, but I can’t for the life of me figure out how that could be. But I’m not a brake engineer! However, I tend to bleed with some gash pads rather than the yellow spacing block for the reasons mentioned above. Bled on hose trimming 3 years ago, still solid. Year round peak riding and uplift days!

I’ve one of the originals in a medium, Matlock way. Although I’m guessing you’re after one of the new models?
