I play, have done on and off since it came out but recently got back into it. Millennial with no kids, but grew up playing Pokémon on Gameboy. Friend code is 008595635158 if you want another friend.

Level 37 here and got flattened by a falinks earlier, I think it’s like higher levels gym raids where you need a few of you to make it viable to win. Especially as you can’t revive during the fight, unlike gym raids.

Cheap Amazon here too, running off the variety of battery packs we’ve acquired over the years.

Brilliant for keeping warm in a chilly house when keeping gas bills down, even better layered under an insulating coat in winter.

Get 2 smaller batteries for it, rather than one bigger one, much lighter and you can charge one whilst the other is in use.

I’m fully outfitted with step ones, purchased in bulk last year in the June sale for £7 a pair reduced from £18 (boxer briefs and sports). Just play the long game.

    Holy thread resurrection, batman (again).

Just going through setting up my smashpot in a 180mm Yari. Vorsprung table/guide recommended 45 or 50 lbs springs (I’m circa 95kg). Having spent the last 2 weekends at bike parks I’ve only used about 60% of travel. 417 last weekend used 100mm travel, on the 50lbs spring. Swapped for 45lbs during the week and BPW today has used maybe 120-130mm.

HBO wound fully off, LSC and MSC basically fully open, no HSC on the Yari UP damper.

Should I keep dropping spring weights until I hit a point where I’m at a deeper sag and occasionally using full travel? Or should I look at changing HBO oil to something lighter (can’t remember what’s in it currently). Is there anything else I should be looking at?

If anyone has a 40lbs spring they’re willing to part with (for cash), PM me. Likewise if anyone wants a 50lbs spring PM me.

Kramer has just written what I was about to write.

Went last year on a free ticket, for a tenner and an hour on the train to get there. Finished looking around the show in about 3h. Single hall with not all that much to see. Deviate stand with the ti-lander and the lowlander was good, along with some of the custom painted frames.

I feel like it doesn’t quite know what it wants to be, there’s not much to actually buy there, but there’s also not all that much to watch/listen to. You end up walking round looking at shiny things and forgetting about them quickly. Or I did anyway.

I didn’t feel cheated at a <£20 day out, but still struggle to remember anything groundbreaking. Definitely wouldn’t recommend it if you needed to buy entry + travel 3h to attend.

I’ve a friend setting up a restoration business, so if you want to ping me some details he might be interested to buy it as a project.

    Edit, Also midlands based.

We normally stop at the Marriott, city centre. Stumbling distance to plenty of eateries and pubs/bars. Overnight parking available in the secure hotel car park for £18/24h. Surprisingly competitive price wise too for rooms.

CRC/Wiggle – has anyone ordered using the paid-for next day delivery? Does that actually result in next day delivery and bypassing the delay in processing/despatch at the moment?

I did, ordered yesterday and out for delivery now, parcelfarce. Considering the cost of the order I didn’t feel 1% was a significant amount to spend to hopefully avoid dispatch delays.

Had this the other week on my mom’s ranger. Fixed with a 3 pin reset/IT Crowd solution, turned it off and back on again, disconnected the battery and left it for a few minutes then reconnected. Bluetooth and everything started working again. Sync resets and everything else hadn’t made a difference up to that point. I think it was sync 2 or 3.

We’re currently looking at going out 14-21 or 21-28 July, stopping with Alptitude and hiring a big chalet. Might have a couple of spare beds/rooms if people are interested, drop me a DM. Its working out to be roughly £150 for the week, for accommodation (based on 8 people, we’ve already got 4 lined up). Mix of bikers and non bikers so far.

It would be cool to meet up and ride with some other people so bookmarking this thread.

I found a cable tie will fit through the upper mounts, over the top of the rubber straps and let you cinch them down a bit tighter. Fork stays (and rear stays) I’ve dismantled the rotational part and attached to the proper mudguard mounts with a bolt and some washers to take up the slack. Properly rigid now and clear my 650b 2.2″ tyres on a stigmata.

Beware of rolling the bike around on its back wheel, especially with the extension. I’ve cracked my rear guard by catching it on the floor a couple of times.

@houns, happy to lend a walking axe or two, I’m just down the road from you, I think, in Kingswinford. Have also got b1 walking crampons (if your boots have got the heel cup) and a 2 or 4 person bothy bag you can borrow too. Drop me a DM if you want.

If you’re in the West Midlands you’re welcome to have a play with my 3d scanner. Bought a revopoint miraco a couple of weeks ago so still in the learning curve at the moment, but planning to do he same as you and use it to facilitate, design and fabricate some car parts. The bits I have scanned (car parts) have come out pretty well though.

If anyone has suggestions for software for design then shout up. Looking to design something, then ‘unfold/flatten’ it to get it laser cut and folded/welded. Currently using SketchUp pro, but dabbling with blender.

I can heartily recommend a meal in “Four and Twenty” on Penrith High St. Small menu but all spectacular. We have eaten there at any opportunity we get. James (chef) and George (front of house) are brilliant fun.

Weather/conditions dependent might head up Snowdon for the 11th or so time. A dram on the summit at midnight with a load of strangers then walk off and head home. Traditions are funny things, it’s only been halted by COVID for the last few years.

Local TK Maxx has got bridgedale wool fusion trail socks in for £7 a pair. Worth a check if you’re nearby to a store.

I’ve been hovering on a set of the prime orra 650b carbon gravel wheels. Nearly ordered at £300 and talked myself out of it. Now down to £150 (less the discount code) and couldn’t resist. Thrown a pair of the £20 NP trail clips in too.

Shameless plug here, the scout/guide event I’m involved in running has just opened bookings for next year. It’s two weekends at the end of June, with the first weekend for scouts, guides, explorers and rangers, and the second for cubs/brownies.

We’ve got pretty much unrestricted access to Cirencester park, for full weekends of challenge bases and entertainment. It’s an incredibly easy weekend to attend as all you need to do is turn up.

We’re also appreciative of anyone who wants to come and volunteer as a helper, the small payment for that is to cover (some) food costs for the weekend. Helping is a good way to see what it’s like and whether to bring units the following year.

Another vote for Halfords here, advanced 2′ with the top cabinet, purchased a few weeks ago. Seems pretty solid although the soft close on the drawers seems a little sporadic at the moment.

With black Friday around the corner it might be worth waiting a few weeks to see what discounts turn up or find a friend with a trade card.

Still waiting for mine, ordered and dispatched Tuesday with next day delivery. Now lost in the depths of evri/hermes warehouse, with a disappointing “your parcel has been delayed” message on the tracking. What do we think are the chances of a delivery refund from Evans?

A timely thread. Also watching this as I think it’ll be worth taking some body armour to morzine in a few weeks.

A band called Gasoline and Matches were booked to play on the night it burned down too, obviously cancelled a few months prior as the pub shut/was sold.

It’s just down the road from me, it definitely seems a bit suspicious. I was surprised to see it wasn’t actually a listed building given its novelty.

They are top guys at Blazing Bikes. Used to do a Thursday night ride around the Long Minge area (prob still going…), and chip butties in the pub afterwards.

This. Always a fun night out with Will and Co. Many fun evenings had riding things that are well beyond ‘cheeky’. 7 years since I last went on one, should find out if they still run the now I’m back in the area.

Every time I pass I tend to pop in and buy something, just to do my bit keep them going.

So so. I live on the opposite side of Birmingham and nabbed free tickets 6 months ago and it only cost £7 on the train. I don’t feel robbed by attending, but we’d seen all the stands and watched some chunks of the talks by 1pm. If it cost me full ticket price to get in (£10) and I had to travel any distance, I could see it being a bit disappointing.

Some shiny things to look at, deviate have some gorgeous Ti frames they’re prototyping, Atherton bikes have the full stand there, lots of e bikes from the smaller players. Some freebies, gels and stickers but nothing major to write home about. Very little to actually buy.

Bringing this back to the surface, given its 4 days away. Is anyone planning to go? It’s only going to cost me a daytripper ticket (for the Birmingham area) so I’m willing to give it a punt.

I’m going to have to dig out the classic stw forum gnarpoon tshirt, so I’ll be easily recognisable.

Also following this. 35m² garage to do. Thinking of tidying up the existing bare concrete with no nonsense paint, then spending a small fortune on the duramat tiles to cover the entirety of the floor. It’ll make it easier to adjust the flooring when I get around to framing and insulating the external walls. Duramat tile samples ordered to check what the colours are like. Thanks for the tip, Jim.

The price has gone up a lot. Last year a Saturday ticket was £63.60 and it’s £94 this year.

    This.
I’ve been the last few years but I struggle to justify the cost to only see 2 or 3 runs down the hill on finals day. Hopefully that cost increase translates into bigger prize money and a follow up international series of races.

+1 for soup in bread at svarta. We had a lovely dinner at Ramen Momo, and a cracking toastie, soup and coffee at Rost (please add your own umlaut).

Bernard Kerr has his track walk up. The new jumps look massive. Can’t wait to see this on Sunday

When I went last time, we slowly worked our way up the features during practice. Watched a couple of riders at each point. Then as the finals were happening we slowly worked our way back down to be in the finish area for the final run. Only one rider on track means there’s about 3-5 minutes between them, this was generally enough to make it between major features, without missing too much. Definitely better to watch on RBTV to see full runs, but the size of the features is crazy and doesn’t come across on the replay.

Also, looks like I’ll have a spare seat in the car for Sunday, if anyone reading this wants to DM me and meet over that way and come in with us. I’ve paid for up to 5 people, might as well fill the car.
